Anti-Racist Action

The rejection of the identity of victimization through cracking a Nazi’s skull.

On Friday, April 15th, 2011 some anti-fascist in Anti-Racist Action learned of the location of the National Socialist Movement’s national conference for rank promotion and five-year planning. A group of 30 of us decided to march to where the Nazi’s were strongest, to bodily and boldly confront them, and we were decidedly victorious. After the the dust settled six Nazis were hospitalized, more were injured, their vehicles and property were damaged, and their conference was ended. On the other side, one anti-fascist required moderate first aid.

Many of us at the melee were people of color, working class, immigrants, women, queer, transgendered, and/or people on parole or probation. The logic of the victim is constantly thrust upon us. We are said to be ‘at risk’ and must be protected and pandered to. It is said that we need others, usually the State, to protect and stand up for us. But, through the action of splitting Nazis’ heads open, we rejected the logic of victimization. We will continue to do so, we will be victims no longer. We do not need others to stand up for us, we have each other. When we are attacked, we will find each other and counterattack, so hard and so fierce that we will surprise even ourselves.

If the Nazis call us bitch ass faggots, they might not be that far off the mark. But if they conflate those slurs with weakness, the six hospital visits they faced would prove otherwise.

Barcelona: Combative May Day

May Day 2011 comes on the heels of two general strikes (29S, in September, called for by all the unions, and 27G, in January, called only by the anarchosyndicalist and radical independent unions). These strikes saw the creation of over half a dozen neighborhood assemblies and a periodic

coordination between them, as well as other groups organizing at a citywide level. The confrontational barricades and pickets of the minoritarian unions (CNT and CGT) were vindicated, as were the insurrectionary anarchists’ tactics of attack and idea of an uncontrolled generalization of the struggle.

Patricia suicides after false conviction

Patricia Heras kills herself after being sentenced for a crime she did not commit (Catalunya)

Background: Barcelona / February 4 2006: There was a fight with the police outside a massive party in a squatted building (not run by people from the movement though) where some 1500 people were attending. In the confused events that followed a cop was hit by a potted plant thrown from a balcony causing him severe injuries that left him paraplegic. Importantly, the original police report that attributed the injuries of the cop to a potted plant has mysteriously vanished. The arrested and hunted of that moment were randomly taken from among passers-by; people leaving from the party, even a couple of young guys who happened to have the bad luck of having a motorbike accident driving through the area.. a well known and classic tale of police revenge… they were brutality beaten and fitted up.

The municipal police, instead of investigating properly, decided to blame this on the entire squatter movement- in conjunction with the municipal authorities and the media they intensified an existing campaign of media smears and violent repression. The story spouted by the authorities changed several times to fit the ‘facts’ as it suited them, the disgusting mayor of the city at the time self-importantly pontificating with lies. First they decided that the building in question was “related” somehow to the squatter movement, something everyone knows in the movement is false, then they changed the story of the potted plant for a stone, finally they accused this girl, Patricia Heras, of throwing not the stone but a mobile fence in the course of the confusing struggle.

She always denied it. She denied being there at all, she claimed to be a politically motivated scapegoat. She also denounced, like most others arrested in this confusing episode of likely political revenge, her torture while in detention.

She was sentenced to three years of prison. Being a free spirit, she could not put up with it and she killed herself before going to jail again.

There are many ways to kill:
they can stab you,
they can take your bread,
they can not cure your illness,
they can push you to suicide…

Bertolt Brecht

Banksy backs rioters with petrol bomb poster

Latest creation: Banksy has launched a new poster of a lit petrol bomb in a Tesco Value bottle – with profits being donated to help legal costs for those arrested during the Bristol riots

The artist will put the work up for sale just days after bloody battles over a new Tesco Express in the Stokes Croft area of Bristol – his home city.

It is believed profits from the £5 poster will go towards funding the legal defence for more than 30 rioters arrested following the two nights of violence.
