Manifesto against the eviction of CSO la Gordíssima
As you may know, on Monday, March 16 there was a threat of eviction against the Gordíssima squatted social center in the Barcelona barrio of Sant Andreu.
This eviction could not be carried out due to an act of popular resistance, keeping Gordíssima crowded all day with various activities.
The Gordíssima, has been part of the social and cultural life of the people of Sant Andreu for over 6 years. It was and is a place where various groups and organizations of St. Andreu and around Barcelona have, met and self -managed, a place that to carry out and present various political campaigns.
It´s also been home to a craft beer workshop, various anti-repression theater groups and has hosted debates, meetings, book launches, campaigns, projects, groups and screenings of documentaries.
The Gordíssima is a place that has always opted for a model of alternative entertainment, art and culture, offered live and free and not as a commodity. In short, a place where you can enjoy multiple events, lectures, shows, concerts and a long list of activities that have filled with life a building that was unused and had been long abandoned.
The planned future of the building is a renovation and adaptation to transform it into a hostel to accommodate tourists, trying to transform the city into what the mayor Tries and previous spent years building… the perfidious ” Barcelona Brand.” Trying to include Sant Andreu into this cosmopolitan city-style “living Barcelona”… into the speculative mechanism that has transformed the city into a giant showcase focused on tourism, … into a giant amusement park for foreigners.
Where everything is bought and everything is sold, leaving people without homes in gentrified neighborhoods.
We are a thorn in their feet, … autonomous spaces springing up in the middle of their showxase city, with ideas and ways of working that collide head on with capitalist logic, we are the dirty stains on their ‘everything on-sale at a good price’, “Barcelona Brand,” 
We are generating awareness and dissent, organizing from our roots against capital and patriarchy.
So we call for a city for its inhabitants and not just for the tourists, and we demand that La Gordíssima stay in the barrio. Because 6 years of cultural associations, mutual support and self-management can not be evicted just like that.
The Gordissima stays in town! No eviction!
We support other free spaces in danger of eviction to showcase the city of Barcelona: ELI La Clandestine, CSA paving, Bank expropriated, CP Three lilies, CSO Industry and others!

Manifest contra el desallotjament del CSO La Gordíssima
Com ja sabreu, el passat dilluns 16 de març hi havia una amenaça de desallotjament contra el Centre Social Okupat la Gordíssima, al poble de Sant Andreu. Aquest desallotjament no es va poder dur a terme ja que es va realitzar un acte de resistència, mantenint la Gordíssima plena de gent durant tot el dia amb diverses activitats.
La Gordíssima, forma part de la vida social i cultural del poble de Sant Andreu des de fa més de 6 anys. Ha estat i és, un lloc on diversos col.lectius i entitats de St. Andreu i d’arreu de Barcelona, han trobat un espai on autogestionar-se i reunir-se, un espai que ha permès vehicular i presentar diverses campanyes polítiques, que ha sigut la llar d’un taller de cervesa artesana, de diversos grups de teatre, col.lectius antirepressius i que ha acollit diversos debats, assemblees, presentacions de llibres, campanyes, projectes, col.lectius i projeccions de documentals.
4La Gordíssima és un espai que sempre ha apostat per un model de oci alternatiu oferint cultura i art en viu i en directe de manera gratuïta i no com a una mercaderia. En definitiva, un espai on poder gaudir a peu de carrer de múltiples actes, xerrades, espectacles, concerts i una llarga llista d’activitats que han omplert de vida un edifici que estava en desús i portava temps abandonat.
El futur de l’edifici passa per una remodelació i adaptació per a transformar-se en un alberg per acollir turistes, intentant transformar la ciutat que en Tries i els anteriors alcaldes porten anys construint, la pèrfida “Marca Barcelona”.
S’està intentant també encabir Sant Andreu en aquesta ciutat cosmopolita al mes pur estil «living Barcelona», dins de l’engranatge especulatiu que ha transformat la ciutat en un gegant aparador enfocat al turisme, un gran parc d’atraccions per guiris, on tot es compra i tot es ven, deixant a la gent sense cases i gentrificant els nostres barris.
Som una espina clavada, som espais autogestionats i alliberats al mig de la ciutat/aparador, idees i maneres de funcionar que xoquen frontalment contra la lògica capitalista, taques que embruten la seva , sempre en venda i a bon preu, “Marca Barcelona”.
Som llavors que generen conciència i dissidència, que s’organitzen en contra del capital i del patriarcat allà on arrelem.
Així doncs reivindiquem una ciutat per als seus habitants i no per els turistes, i es per això que reclamem que la Gordíssima es quedi al poble. Per que 6 anys de teixit associatiu i cultural, suport mutu i autogestió no es poden desallotjar com si res.
La Gordissima es queda al poble! No al desallotjament!
Donem suport a la resta d’espais alliberats en perill de desallotjament a la ciutat aparador de Barcelona: E.L.I. La Clandestina,C.S.A la LLamborda ,Banc Expropiat,CP Tres LLiris, C.S.O. La Industria i els altres!
