Press Release: RIDGEWOOD, QUEENS, New York – December 30, 2015 –

Woodbine, an organizing hub for building autonomy in the Anthropocene, has released A Resolution, a video call to set out the stakes for 2016: the planetary need to be done with a way of life that is destroying us and the world, and in the face of this, to get organized as a new historical force capable of changing everything.

A Resolution looks back on the crisis and confusion of 2015: climate change-driven wildfires, droughts, and storms; ISIS and their attacks in Paris, Beirut, and Ankara; bankrupt political leaders at COP21 debating how fast to kill the world; and an ever growing number of people murdered by police across American cities. As times grow darker, as despair and hopelessness grow in tandem with stupidity and horror, people everywhere are searching for vision and direction. Continue reading “A Resolution.. I really wanted to avoid this one when I first became aware of the tale on Social Media. I got the jist of it, an artist got £15 grand worth of funding for remaining in Glasgow for a year. I just didn’t care. Even if I was to find out that all she intended to do with the money was use it as a procurement and delivery method for cocaine, I would barely bat an eyelid. After the banking bailout and some recent political wage increases, I have a high threshold when it comes to getting angry about public money being wasted on the wrong people.

In fact I have a high anger threshold about everything nowadays. I have become slowly desensitised over the years with the drip, drip, drip of countless terrors that used to get me apoplectic. Malnourished black babies with bluebottles crawling over their bulbous bellies, limbless Muslim children being carried away from the remains of a freshly bombed kindergarten, burning corpses falling from the creaking remnants of the Twin Towers, the melted, contorted faces of Pakistani housewives who have embarrassed their tribe so badly that a battery acid facial was the only honourable solution. UK fines Trump for air pollution — and they don’t mean his speeches

America might still be enraptured (or enraged) by Donald “Build a Great Wall” Trump, but the U.K. is officially over it.

Last month, Britain’s highest court swatted down Trump’s attempt to block a wind farm that would be visible from his fancy Scottish golf course. In recent weeks, more than half a million Brits signed a petition to ban The Donald from entering the U.K. — a proposal that which will actually be debated in parliament later this month. And now the hilarious island nation has fined the presidential wannabe for the pollution spewing from his private plane.

Femicide in Turkey 346 women murdered in 2015

by KurdisCat Umut Foundation has published figures for 2015 relating to violence against women in the Republic of Turkey, which recorded a significant increase compared to the previous year. Turkish-Women-Rights-Protest-678x381 The Foundation was set up in 1994 to develop humanism and non-violence in Turkish society. 346 women were murdered in Turkey in the first 10 months of 2015.
