Greetings comrades:
Here is the written statement from the new Community Garden El Mirlo (The Blackbird) in Rubi, in response to repeated offensives we are receiving from the bank BBVA.
We ask you that in the following days, to the extent of the possibilities of each person or group, take actions against the offices of that bank. We also add some proposals for posters to use in the actions.
PRESS STATEMENT FROM COMMUNITY GARDEN, THE BLACKBIRD
Last May 2016 we occupied a piece of land located in front of the anarchist Ateneo Hydra, city Rubi (c / Prim 49), owned by the bank BBVA.
The purpose of this okupación is to create a community garden in which, in the near future, the neighbourhood can have a space to grow our food, self-managed and respectful of nature, as a way to recover our food sovereignty. Thus, during these months we have dedicated our efforts to clearing the land and starting to cultivate it.

These past few weeks we are faced with a situation that is threatening and hindering our activity on the ground, that’s why we want to publish this report. The BBVA bank, which remains a participant in the speculation of hundreds of thousands of homes and continues today evicting and displacing hundreds of thousands of people from their homes, are using questionable tactic..s sending their minions to destroy our project.
After squatting we had our ID’s checked and noted by the Catalan Police who opened a penal court case against us which at present is suspended. In this situation, the BBVA bank has chosen not to use legal tools and without any eviction order, is outsourcing through Servihogar SL people who, with the edcuse of ‘wanting to fix the ground’, triedg to force and burst the door and intimidated our companions. For several days now we have had a direct confrontation with these people, who are accompanied by the Mossos d’Esquadra (Catalan Police), who facilitate their efforts to bust the door and enter.
Here we see how banks are protected by the repressive forces of the state, which break their own laws to defend Capital.
This bank only sees land as a space to be exploited.. from which to draw potential profits and has executed more evictions since 2013 even than the bank Bankia.

Mafias responsible for illegally evicting squatters, are becoming more frequent and become today a tool for many banks. Furthermore, it is publicly known that BBVA hires security guards for such evictions.
We show that we will not allow BBVA try to intimidate us, or that they reuse this land with capitalist ends.
No attack will be accepted without reply, nor will we passively await new offensives, since the liberation of spaces can not be understood without resistance.

Aquí dejamos escrito el comunicado del Huerto Comunitario El Mirlo (Rubí), en respuesta a las repetidas ofensivas que estamos recibiendo por parte del banco BBVA. Pedimos que en los días sucesivos, en la medida de lo que cada persona o grupo pueda asumir, se hagan acciones en oficinas de dicha entidad bancaria. Adjuntamos también algunas propuestas de carteles para utilizar en las acciones. |
