It arrives and settles down on the sofa in our house, and tries, nothing less, to define who we are and what are the struggles that we must fight.
Steven Universe, Feminism & Queer Theory - YouTube

.

One of the cultural battles of our time revolves around the so-called Queer Theory, a heterogeneous set of beliefs, attitudes and ideas, which, starting from the struggle of the so-called ‘dissident sexualities’, has been permeating laws, political programs, frameworks theorists and worldviews.

Queerly*Thought - Skimming the surface of contemporary ...

It has also strongly colonized the spheres of the libertarian movement,
informally, that is, without prior debate and reflection.

This way of arriving unannounced should already lead us to cautious reflection: this is almost always how power wins battles, by assuming that they are the result of reality itself, and therefore do not require an analysis and debate on the part of individuals and organizations.

THE STATE IS TERROR but WE DON’T SCARE: Turkish anarchist resistance

THE STATE IS TERROR, WE DON’T SCARE. Devrimci Anarsist Faaliyet (DAF).

from Turkish Anarchists.. Devrimci Anarsist Faaliyet (DAF).

This morning, the Governor of Istanbul announced that all demonstrations in Beşiktaş and Sarıyer were prohibited.

Announcing the statement on his twitter account, the Governor said, “Considering that it may adversely affect the efforts to protect the society from the epidemic and prevent the spread of the epidemic, all kinds of meetings, demonstrations and marches are prohibited in these districts.” said.

Let’s express the sentences that they could not. Fear prohibits. The fear of the AKP’s collapse is increasing day by day. As his fear grows, his prohibitions also increase. This fear didn’t start today. Those resisting in Gezi, in Kobani; Those who went out on the streets after the bombs exploded in Amed, Suruç and Ankara became the fear of the state. In all the previous years, the state has attacked and banned them due to it’s fear. The courage of those who resisted turned into a struggle.

Vague laws are enacted that criminalise free speech, the report by the New York-based rights body said, adding that journalists, activists, healthcare workers and opposition groups are among those targeted by authorities.

The report outlaid five key areas where governments worldwide have committed abuses since January 2020, when COVID-19 – the disease caused by the virus – started to spread across the world.

The Trump administration deliberately harnessed racism and class animosity to push policies that caused hundreds of thousands of U.S. deaths, according to a scathing new report in the British medical journal The Lancet.

After undertaking a comprehensive assessment of the health and environment impacts of Donald Trump’s presidency, the 33 scientists who co-authored the article estimated that rollbacks of environmental and workplace protections led to 22,000 excess deaths in 2019 alone.

They also found that 40% of U.S. deaths during 2020 from Covid-19 would have been avoided if the country’s death rate had been closer to that of its G7 peers, and blamed Trump for eschewing the advice of public health agencies and politicizing common sense responses to the pandemic such as mask-wearing.

At the end of last December, the Greek government approved a reform of the national penitentiary system that, in addition to other measures that worsen prison conditions, establishes that those convicted of terrorism cannot access “rural prisons,” more “open” institutions to which long-term prisoners have access. The approval of this law has led to the immediate transfer of political prisoner Dimitris Koufontinas from the rural prison of Kassevitia.

Dimitris is a comrade convicted for participating in the revolutionary organization 17 November, in prison since 2002. The new set of laws stipulates that inmates in rural prisons are reclassified and then transferred to the last prison they were in. In Dimitris’s case it should have been the Athenian prison of Koridallos. However, the prison administration decided to transfer him, manipulating the transfer papers, to Domokos prison. Although there are no differentiated circuits in Greece, in recent years, the prison administration has turned Domokos into a “hard” prison.
