History shows why the UK should support Palestine peace marchers on Remembrance weekend!
from thefreeonline on 6th November 2023 by Vox Political
./Respect: Remembrance commemorations must include the service people who died defending Palestine against Zionists in the 1930s and 40s. The haters who want to stop a peace march are spitting on their graves.

A commenter to This Site provided a little historical insight into how the Israel/Palestine conflict should affect Armistice Day and Remembrance Day. It’s not what you’ve been told:
750 British soldiers and Police were killed in Palestine in the 1930s and 1940s, nearly all by Zionist terrorists who were using violence to bring about a Jewish state of Israel.
They included men killed when Zionist terrorists blew up the Jerusalem Officers Club and then the King David Hotel(90 died in the hotel blast including many civilians).
As revenge for the execution of their own men, one Zionist gang kidnapped two British sergeants and hanged them , attaching a booby trap to the bodies so that the British Officer cutting them down was badly injured.
They gave their lives so that Palestine would not be taken over by an influx of European Zionists who were planning to erase Palestine from the map.
Britain eventually shrugged and just handed it over to the Zionists.
So why should a pro-Palestine march be regarded as ruining the commemoration of British soldiers who were killed in various colonial conflicts?
British politicians who say they are “standing by Israel” are the ones who are spitting on the memory of so many British soldiers who were killed by the terrorists who created Israel.

If anything, the pro-Palestine march should be welcomed to march past the Cenotaph so that we can all express sympathy for the soldiers who died fighting Zionism.
So Remembrance Day commemorations include the servicepeople who died defending Palestine (as it was) from Zionists, back before Israel was established by the United Nations.
Casts a different light on the opposition to the planned march, doesn’t it?

UK women charged under terrorism law for ParaGlider Protest Posters / Palestine Action strikes UK Foreign Office
The depiction of Hamas paragliders supposedly indicates that the women support the group, which is a crime in Britain
from thefreeonline on 6th Nov 2023 by HomeWorld News

Two British women have been charged with terrorism offenses for carrying posters showing Hamas militants paragliding at a pro-Palestine demonstration, the Crown Prosecution Service announced on Friday.
“Heba Alhayey, 29, and Pauline Ankunda, 26, have been charged with single counts of carrying or displaying an article, namely an image displaying a paraglider, to arouse reasonable suspicion that they are supporters of a proscribed organization, namely Hamas,” the prosecutor stated, describing the actions as violations of Britain’s Terrorism Act 2000.

Both women could face up to six months’ prison time for bringing the posters to the protest, which took place in central London last month.

Hamas militants used paragliders to enter Israel as part of a larger surprise attack on October 7 that allegedly managed to evade that country’s sophisticated border surveillance. The element of surprise supposedly allowed the fighters – said to be members of Hamas’ elite Nukbha unit – to kill some 1,400 Israelis and kidnap over 200 more, bringing the captives back to Gaza, where most of them allegedly remain.

Israel quickly responded by declaring war on Hamas and pummeling Gaza with the most intense bombardment in the oft-bombed enclave’s history, leveling entire neighborhoods, displacing hundreds of thousands of residents, and killing upwards of 9,488 Palestinians as of Saturday, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.

The Nakba (‘Great Catastrophe’) saw British armed and trained Zionist militia forcibly displace over 750,000 Palestinians, destroy over 500 Palestinian villages, and massacre many families. The genocide underway right now in Gaza, which has already claimed the lives of over 8,500 Palestinians and injured tens of thousands more, while the 2.1m in Gaza are starved, thirsted, and displaced, would not be happening if not for Balfour and Britain’s ongoing political and military support for the Zionist project.

Pro-Palestine demonstrations spearheaded by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign have drawn thousands into the streets of London since Israel’s declaration of war on Hamas. Protesters continued to wave Palestinian flags and chant lines like “from the river to the sea” despite a warning from Home Secretary Suella Braverman that both could potentially constitute criminal offenses.

London Metropolitan Police arrested 15 people during the protest Alhayey and Ankunda attended in protest of Israel’s bombing of Gaza. While police had warned demonstrators beforehand that “anyone with a flag in support of Hamas or any other proscribed terrorist organization will be arrested,” they later told the BBC that the offenders were picked up for less ideological offenses like setting off fireworks in public and assaulting emergency workers.
The popular Palestinian slogan might express “a violent desire to see Israel erased from the world,” while the Palestinian flag might be used to intimidate or harass Jews, she claimed, urging police to prioritize “dealing with” any potentially offensive “placards, chants, or behaviors” so that “communities feel protected,” in a letter to chief constables in England and Wales sent several days after Hamas’ attack.

How ‘evidence free’ Atrocities by Hamas are being used by West to genocide 2.4 million Palestinians
What the BBC Fails to Tell You About October 7
from thefreeonline on 6th Nov 23 via Der Friedensstifter by Jonathan Cook at Jonathan Cook Blog

It is journalistic malpractice for the media to still be repeating so credulously the Israeli military’s account of that day
The BBC’s Lucy Williamson was taken once again this week to view the terrible destruction at a kibbutz community just outside Gaza attacked on October 7. As we have been shown so many times before, the Israeli homes were riddled with automatic fire, both inside and out. Sections of concrete wall had holes in them, or had collapsed entirely. And parts of the buildings that were still standing were deeply charred. It looked like a small snapshot of the current horrors in Gaza.
There is a possible reason for those similarities – one that the BBC is studiously failing to report, despite mounting evidence from a variety of sources, including the Israeli media. Instead the BBC is sticking resolutely to a narrative crafted for them, and the rest of the western media, by the Israeli military: that Hamas alone caused all this destruction.
Simply repeating that narrative without any caveats has by now reached the level of journalistic malpractice. And yet that is precisely what the BBC does night after night.
Just a cursory look at the wreckage in the various kibbutz communities that were attacked that day should raise questions in the mind of any good reporter. Were Palestinian militants in a position to actually inflict physical damage to that degree and extent with the kind of light weapons they carried with them?

A home in Kibbutz Be’eri, demolished by the IDF on October 7th to ‘get Hamas militants’
And if not, who else was in a position to wreak such havoc other than Israel?
A separate question that good journalists ought to be asking is this: What was the purpose of such damage? What did the Palestinian militants hope to achieve by it?
The implicit answer the media is supplying is also the answer the Israeli military wants western publics to hear: that Hamas engaged in an orgy of gratuitious killing and savagery because … well, let’s say the quiet part out loud: because Palestinians are inherently savage.
With that as the implicit narrative, western politicians have been handed a licence to cheerlead Israel as it murders a Palestinian child in Gaza every few minutes.
Savages only understand the language of savagery, after all.

Brutal Tango
For this reason alone, any journalist who wishes to avoid colluding in the genocide unfolding in Gaza ought to be increasingly wary of simply repeating the Israeli military’s claims about what happened on October 7. Certainly, they should not credulously regurgitate the latest agitprop from the IDF press office, as the BBC is so evidently doing.
What we know from a growing body of evidence gleaned from the Israeli media and Israeli eyewitnesses – carefully laid out, for example, in this report from Max Blumenthal – is that the Israeli military was completely blindsided by that day’s events. Heavy artillery, including tanks and attack helicopters, was called in to deal with Hamas. That appears to have been a straightforward decision in regard to the military bases Hamas had overrun.

Israel has a long-standing policy of seeking to prevent Israeli soldiers from being taken captive – chiefly, because of the high price Israeli society insists on paying to ensure soldiers are returned. For decades, the military’s so-called “Hannibal procedure” has directed Israeli troops to kill fellow soldiers rather than allow them to be taken captive. For the same reason, Hamas expends a great deal of energy in trying to find innovative ways to seize soldiers.
The two sides are essentially engaged in a brutal tango in which each understands the other’s dance moves.

“As we reached the roundabout [at a kibbutz], we saw Israeli security forces!” Rachiel recalled. “We held our heads down [because] we automatically knew they’d be suspicious of us, in a small beat-up car… from the same direction the terrorists were coming from. Our forces began shooting at us!“
