Spain has been above most depraved pro-Genocide EU States, but bribed politicians still allow lucrative arms deals to go ahead, only awaiting a Gaza Ceasefire to resume full bloody business as usual.

Chile and Colombia banned Israeli companies from from their Arms Fairs.
Israeli Arms Companies are invoited to the International Defense and Security Fair of Spain (Feindef), the only fair in the sector institutionally supported by the Ministry of Defense.

Next edition of the Fair will be held on May 12, 13 and 14, 2025 at Ifema (Madrid).
Two months ago (a year before its celebration), the event organizers announced that they already had 80% of the space reserved. Among the international delegations that have already confirmed their presence, they point out in the official dossier, is Israel.
Feindef Foundation, founded by the Ministry of Defense, claimns to be “a private, “non-profit foundation that raises awareness in Spanish and European society on issues related to Security and Defense”. It was sponsored by the industrial associations, TEDAE and AESMIDE, in 2020.

Chile vetoed Israel from their Arms fair as did Colombian
Israel’s presence at Feindef is usual. In the 2023 edition (the last one that has been held) two of the main arms companies of the Middle Eastern country participated, such as Rafael Advanced Defense Systems LTD or Elbit Systems LTD.
And, so far, neither the massacre that Netanyahu’s army is committing in Palestine, nor the fact that it has not been at the defense fairs of other countries, has affected the continuity of that presence.
For example, in Chile, the president himself, Gabriel Boric, announced the veto of participation of the Israeli arms industry at the International Air and Space Fair (Fidae), which was held in April 2024.
“Respect for human rights is being violated in Gaza and that is what led me to make this decision, which is consistent with the position that Chile has historically maintained,” said Boric.

La Marea has contacted the fair’s organisers to ask them about, among other things, whether the option of excluding Israel has been discussed, without obtaining a response.
Spain’s double standards with Israel
Israel’s permitted presence at this fair is another example of the double standards that Spain, according to its actions, follows when establishing its relations with the Netanyahu government.
It no sooner calls for a ceasefire, joins the Genocide Court Case, or recognises the Palestinian State than it votes against suspending relations with Israel. That would cost money.
The USA still gifts tens of billions of dollars to the tiny Israeli state annually to spend and buy weapons, while going into multiple trillions of debt, and US proxy states are allowed to share somewhat in the ‘feeding frenzy’.
Israel’s illegal apartheid and seizure of Palestine was ignored for decades, until the ultra Zionists gained power, provoked a bloody breakout of blockaded Gaza, and embarked on Genocide, massacring tens of thousands of civilians for nearly a year now.

Yet another $10,000,000,000 has just been awarded, making a ceasefire even less likely, and companies and politicians will be further cashing in.
In addition, on 12 February 2024, the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, claimed that, since 7 October 2023, no arms sales to Israel had been authorised. Something that Minister José Manuel Albares had previously stated on different occasions. However, an analysis by Centre Delàs researcher Alejandro Pozo showed the minister to be a liar.
This showed that the official DataComex portal, for foreign trade, indicated that, in November 2023, Spain exported goods from category 93 (bombs, grenades, torpedoes, mines, missiles, cartridges and other ammunition and projectiles, and their parts, including buckshot, pellets and cartridge wads) worth 987,000 euros.

The exporting company, as Pozo himself confirmed days later, was Nammo Palencia.
By breaking relations with Israel, Colombia obviously also stopped buying weapons from them. This commercial relationship with Spain has not ceased.
We are waiting for the official statistics corresponding to the second half of 2023 to be published, in the first half, Spain authorized the sale of weapons to Israel worth 44.4 million euros. All of them within the category corresponding to “cars and other armed military vehicles and military vehicles equipped with weapon racks.”
Spain continues to fail to intervene in ships carrying weapons and supplies to continue the genocide in Palestine

A new ship loaded with military supplies to Israel is scheduled to pass through Spanish ports. It is the Overseas Santorini, which, according to the Solidarity Network Against the Occupation of Palestine (RESCOP), would carry JP-8, fuel used in the bombings that cause deaths daily in the Gaza Strip.

This cargo ship, full of military grade JET FUEL for Israel’s bombers Genociding Gaza, was at the time in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, having set sail days ago from the port of Corpus Christi, in the state of Texas, in the United States, and was scheduled to arrive in Spain on July 30.The Overseas Santorini, along with another ship of similar characteristics, the Overseas Sun Coast, make trips every two months transporting 300,000 barrels of this fuel from Valero’s Bill Greehey refinery in Corpus Christi, Texas (United States).
Due to mobilization of the huge anti Genocide movement in Spain the ship changed its route and finally did not dock eotger ion Algeciras or Gibraltar. The jet fuel got to Israel, but didn’t pass through Spain.
This fuel comes from the Valero company, however, they are under contract with the United States, then, the transport is directly contracted with the Overseas Shipholding group by Israel to transport it to the occupied ports, previously stopping at different ports in the European Union.
It is estimated that Israel may have received up to six shipments of this fuel since the beginning of the massacre in Gaza, so it may not be the first that intended to dock in Spanish ports.
The use by Israel of its aviation for indiscriminate bombings of civilians, schools hospital, mosques, universities, clinics and United Nations agencies constitutes war crimes and may generate responsibilities both at the individual level of those who execute these orders and at the level of the chain of command or even the State of Israel itself.
Likewise, companies and other States that, despite knowing of the commission of these crimes, continue to supply this type of goods essential for the continuation of these actions may also be found partially responsible for the results of Israel’s actions.
On June 28, Spain submitted its declaration of intervention in the case between South Africa and Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) due to Israel’s violation of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.
However, the Spanish Government’s ability to deny docking or detain and inspect ships has not been used despite having legal powers to do so under national legislation and international treaties.

On the contrary, Spain has awarded contracts valued at 1.027 billion euros to Israeli companies and their subsidiaries since October 7.
Also, on July 11, a bill was registered by more than 500 civil organizations through part of the ruling parliamentary coalition of Podemos, Sumar, ERC, EH Bildu and the BNG in the Congress of Deputies.

This proposal involves modifying the current Arms Trade Law, introducing the possibility of embargoing countries when they are being investigated for war crimes, crimes against humanity or the crime of genocide, as is the case of Israel at present with the ICJ process already mentioned.
This proposal will however be in a state of response from the Government until October 5 of this year.
