Colombian President Gustavo Petro ordered the expulsion of “Israel’s” entire diplomatic delegation from Bogota on Wednesday, following reports that two Colombian nationals were detained by the Israeli Navy while participating in the Global Sumud Flotilla en route to Gaza.
Petro reacted sharply, warning that the detention amounted to “a new international crime by Benjamin Netanyahu.”
He added that Colombia’s Free Trade Agreement with “Israel” is “immediately denounced”, building on earlier calls to suspend economic ties.
“Any remaining diplomatic representatives of Israel must leave Colombian territory immediately,” Petro declared in a post on X. He also directed the Foreign Ministry to pursue legal action in Israeli courts and called on international lawyers to support Colombia’s case.

The plan outlines that Gaza will be a zone free of “terrorism and extremism,” posing no “threat” to its “neighbors,” and will be redeveloped for the benefit of its residents, who have suffered greatly.
According to the plan, if both parties agree to the proposal, the war will end immediately, and “Israel” will withdraw to prepare for the release of captives. Within 72 hours of “Israel’s” public acceptance of the agreement, all captives, alive and deceased, will be released.
The plan specifies that upon the handover of the captives, “Israel” will release 250 Palestinian detainees serving life sentences, in addition to 1,700 Palestinians from Gaza. Amnesty will also be granted to H@m@$ members who commit to “peaceful coexistence” and decommission their weapons.
All aid will be fully allowed into the Gaza Strip upon approval of the agreement. The entry and distribution of aid will occur without interference from either party, through the United Nations, its agencies, and the Red Crescent.
Gaza is to be governed by a temporary transitional administration composed of a Palestinian committee of non-political technocrats. The committee will be formed by Washington in consultation with Arab partners, relevant members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and European partners, and will be overseen by a newly established international transitional body.
The plan proposes the creation of a “special economic zone” with detailed regulations and entry fees to be negotiated with the participating countries. No one will be forced to leave Gaza; those who wish to depart will enjoy freedom of exit and return, while efforts will be made to encourage residents to stay.
H@m@$ and other factions will have no role in governing Gaza, and all military infrastructure will be destroyed, as per the plan. A disarmament operation will be conducted under the supervision of an independent monitoring committee, with regional partners providing guarantees that H@m@$ and other factions will fulfill their commitments and that the new Gaza will not pose a threat.
Washington will work with Arab and international partners to establish a temporary international stabilization force to deploy immediately in Gaza. These forces will cooperate with “Israel” and Egypt to secure border areas, alongside a newly trained Palestinian police force. Once control is established, Israeli occupation forces will withdraw gradually, in coordination with Washington, Egypt, and other guarantors, based on disarmament-related benchmarks.
The plan also calls for an “interfaith dialogue initiative” to promote “peaceful coexistence” and “shift mindsets’ among Palestinians and Israelis. Washington will facilitate a dialogue between “Israel” and the Palestinians to agree on a political framework for “peaceful and prosperous coexistence.”
