Ankara’s crackdown on Grup Yorum, a folk collective with rotating band members, is continuing to expand even after three of its members died as a result of hunger strikes protesting the Turkish government’s treatment of the band, Turkish Minute reported.

Known for its leftist stance and songs about human rights violations and freedoms in Turkey, Grup Yorum has been banned from performing since 2016, with some of its members having been jailed. Turkish authorities have accused members of affiliation with the Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party/Front (DHKP-C), considered a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union.
The latest police raid on the İdil Cultural Center, where Grup Yorum members have been conducting their activities, resulted in the detention of 93 people out of 120 for whom warrants had been issued, including the band’s lawyers and background singers in addition to its soloists and musicians, as part of an expanded crackdown in October.

Goni is not a big typhoon and it is hoped it will weaken rapidly before nearing the Manila met area.

Latest predictions show Goni tracking south of Manila, but still through a heavily populated area. Climate Change has ramped up this astonishing storm, due to unprecedented ocean heat. Survivors could possibly sue the Major Oil Companies who have invested for a generation in suppressing news of Climate Change caused largely by their products.
Abdan Bay on Catanduanes island, in a Google Earth image, is directly in line on the Zoom forecast for Super Typhoon Goni, which at the time has 315kph winds. The image shows no sea wall protection. Its just after 4.00 am in Abdan Bay, and hopefully the town and whole coast has been evacuated. Catanduanes has 250,000 population!

The suspension of Jeremy Corbyn by the Labour Party is an outrage, and will likely lead to tens of thousands of principled members quitting the party in disgust.
The facts, based on objective survey evidence, are clear and unequivocal.
Anti-Semitism is much less prevalent in the Labour Party than either in other mainstream political parties or in society as a whole – and always has been.
Mr Corbyn is absolutely right that the problem of anti-Semitism in Labour has always been grossly exaggerated. Worse still, it has been disgracefully exploited and weaponised by an unholy alliance of establishment forces determined to destroy the Corbyn project by any means.
