Help Maikel, pacifist blogger on hunger strike, day 97

In the case of imprisoned pacifist blogger Maikel Nabil Sanad, the military court on 27 November again adjourned the trial, this time until 4 December, to hear a new prosecution witness. At the hearing on 27 November, Maikel Nabil Sanad’s internet provider TE Data told the prosecution that they would not be able to provide the court with the information requested, and that the military should have requested that the internet company monitor the blogger’s activity prior to arrest. At the hearing on 13 November, the case was adjourned to 27 November, to wait for the report of the internet service provider. Meanwhile, Maikel Nabil Sanad passed the 97th day of his hunger strike, surviving on fruit and dairy juices. Maikel Nabil Sanad was arrested at the end of march on charges of violating article 184 of the Egyptian penal code, which criminalizes “insulting the People’s Assembly, the Shura Council or any State Authority, or the Army or the Courts”, and article 102, “spreading false information”. In a trial in front of a military court violating all established legal standards, he was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment on 10 April 2011, in absence of his family, friends, or lawyers. Since then he has been kept in El Marg prison.

On 23 August, Maikel Nabil Sanad began a hunger strike in protest against his imprisonment. In a statement at the beginning of his hunger strike, he declared that his hunger strike is in protest against the severe injustice he is subjected to, namely his unfair trial in front of a military court, the slow processing of his appeal, and the difference of treatment in the cases of Asmaa Mahfouz and Louie Nagati (who had their charges dropped on 18 August 2011) and in his case.

As a result of growing pressure, the appeal hearing was finally brought forward to 4 October, but then again adjourned, because a file was missing. On 11 October, the military appeal court declared the original sentence of 10 April 2011 “null and void”, but failed to release Maikel Nabil Sanad.

Maikel Nabil Sanad refuses to co-operate with the re-trial, and also asked his lawyers to stop any co-operation with the military court. On 18 October, a military court again heard the case of Maikel Nabil Sanad, and appointed a lawyer to represent him, who – according to one of Maikel Nabil Sanad’s lawyers – was unacquainted with the case. The court ordered to transfer Maikel Nabil Sanad to a psychiatric hospital “for examination” (see co-alert, 20 October 2011), but the hospital refused this attempt at pathologisation of political dissent, and sent him back after a few days, declaring him “sane”.

The case has now been adjourned to 4 December, and Maikel Nabil Sanad remains imprisoned and on hunger strike.

After a wave of raids across the country in which police in riot gear broke up Occupy Wall Street encampments and arrested protesters, Oakland Mayor Jean Quan acknowledged in an interview with the BBC that she participated in a conference call with officials from 18 cities about how to deal with the Occupy movement.

As police forces violently crack down on protests across the United States and Europe, we look at the increasing influence of military technology on domestic police forces. Stephen Graham is professor of Cities and Society at Newcastle University in the U.K. His book is “Cities Under Siege: The New Military Urbanism.” “What the Occupy movement is so powerful at is demonstrating that by occupying public spaces around the world, and particularly these extremely symbolic public spaces, it’s reasserting that the city is the foundation space for democracy,” Graham says.

No permanezcamos indiferentes
A agitar y solidarizar, no puede repetirse esto.
Ningún compañerx esta solx!    Fuerza Mono!!!

Fascists and Church stole and sold 300,000 babies, executed 150,000..

When the fascist government finally fell apart in Spain there was a ‘transition’ and an amnesty law. After 40 years in power the ‘rabid right’ and the Church owned most property and wealth and to this day they hold power behind the scenes, controlling the police, army and judiciary.( really, they control the High Court).

Half a million died in the fascist takeover, and they executed over 100,000 more afterwards.  All Spain is littered with mass graves and associations of relatives pay to have them dug up and analyzed. You can’t get any official help, even the invented crimes for the mass summary executions are still legally valid.

The amnesty law still stands-. There is no closure. No justice. The Spanish State,  monarchy and religion are founded on gigantic mass butchery, life sentences and the worst tortures imaginable. No wonder they’re not popular!

The criminals and their heirs are still managing their fortunes and living in luxury. The Church owns half the country and pays no tax.  Britain, France and the USA of course helped set up the regime. They always armed,  aided and shared profits from the Fascist reign of terror for 40 years.

Now another well known but buried fascist crime has gone public, due to a documentary by the BBC, boosting their ratings and income.

Over 300,000 babies were taken from their parents, often by nuns who controlled the hospitals,  and sold, right up till the 1970s.

”The practice of removing children from parents deemed “undesirable” and placing them with “approved” families, began in the 1930s under the dictator General Francisco Franco.

At that time, the motivation may have been ideological. But years later, it seemed to change – babies began to be taken from parents considered morally – or economically – deficient. It became a money-spinner, too.

The scandal is closely linked to the Catholic Church, which under Franco assumed a prominent role in Spain’s social services including hospitals, schools and children’s homes.

Nuns and priests compiled waiting lists of would-be adoptive parents, while doctors were said to have lied to mothers about the fate of their children.

The name of one doctor, Dr Eduardo Vela, has come up in a number of victim investigations. Dr Vela is confronted with the allegations in the documentary.

In 1981, Civil Registry sources indicate that 70% of births at Dr Vela’s San Ramon clinic in Madrid were registered as “mother unknown.”read lots more on BBC  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-15335899

Smash Prisons: 6000 on Hunger Strike

6,000 Prisoners Resume Hunger Strike in California

Infoshop News (September 28, 2011) – People being imprisoned in California prisons have resumed a hunger strike which initially happened last July. The expansion of draconian state measures against Californians has led to overcrowding and other terrible conditions in California’s incarceration facilities.

Round 2, Day 3: Strike Spreads Rapidly, At least 6,000 prisoners resume strike

Prisoner Hunger Strike Solidarity – Today (9/28/11) lawyers & mediators of Prisoner Hunger Strike Solidarity’s mediation team confirm that at least 6,000 prisoners throughout CA are resuming the hunger strike that originally began in July. The CDCR refuses to release where prisoners are striking exactly, and how many prisoners are striking at each prison. We know that hundreds of prisoners in the General Population at Calipatria are joining the hunger strike for one week in solidarity with 200 hunger strikers in Calipatria’s two Administrative Segregation Units (Ad-Seg & ASU), bringing Calipatria’s numbers up to 500-1,000 hunger strikers.

The State is ‘top dog mafia’..kills Troy Davis.

Troy Anthony Davis (October 9, 1968 – September 21, 2011.

The State blamed Troy Davis for the death of a white policeman.

You could also blame everybody carrying guns. Or the hysterical media led outcry.

The US prisons are full of poor and largely black people, incarcerated for doubtful

”crimes” against property or drugs.

Why were all  appeals rejected, when Troy had a 20 year sentence already served?

Just to prove again that the police are the most macho top dog ruling mafia…

another barbaric STATE MURDER.

Black Cross organiser Tamara gets 8 years

Tamara gets 8 yrs for attack on Prison Boss

Tamara Hernandez today accepted she tried to kill the head of the Prisons, the long hated  Albert Batlle i Bastardas .

Albert had refused repeatedly to grant any clemency to the amazing anarchist prisoner Amadeu Castellas,
when he was on his 2nd hunger strike in 2009 after serving 22 years, way over his sentence.
The campaign for Amadeu went world wide, with daily attacks and demos all over, as he was apparently dying,
and put incommunicado in solitary by the same  Albert Battle i Bastardos.
Tamara sent Albert a packet of gunpowder, 50 grams.
We had understood it wasn’t ‘loaded’ and was just a threat, but at the hearing yesterday the `police produced
‘proof’ that it was potentially lethal.
Then Tamara agreed a legal deal, her sentence was reduced from 17 to 8 years if she admitted it.
”I wanted to kill him”.. she said,. (well so did nearly everyone.)
SOLIDARITY DETAILS WILL BE PUBLISHED HERE WHEN AVAILABLE.

Tamara''s attack on Albert Battle was to defend our comrade Amadeu Casellas, then dying on hunger strike due to Battle's refusal to grant basic human rights.
