Tension is rising fast in Catalonia due to:
- The Hunger Strike of the Republican leaders still incarcerated for calling a successful Referendum
- The insulting anti Catalan stance of the new Spanish president and continuing racist campaign in Spain whipping up support and spawning a new rabidly fascist sexist party, VOX, and an upsurge in fascist street attacks.
- The calling of a Spanish Council of Ministers in Barcelona on 21-D, with a mass import of special police, on the anniversary of elections which confirmed Republican support
- The continuing High and Constitutional Court verdicts that are blatantly anti Catalan and neo-fascist.
- Frustration that the French Yellow Vests achieve their aims in weeks by violence while Catalans are repressed, mocked and vilified while enforcing pacifism.
Huge Catalog of Actions planned already for 21/December

Òmnium (128,000 members) calls for a “popular alternative Council of Ministers” with other civil society organizations, organizations in favor of human rights, in the field of education and health, and even trade unions.
The hunger strike of political prisoners
Sánchez, Turull, Rull and Forn, of the 9 still imprisoned for calling the Oct 2017 Referendum, began a hunger strike on Dec 1st to protest that the Spanish Constitutional Court delays and blocking a Strasbourg Court appeal. The strike continues with rapidly building social protest promoting the ´´Great Country Stoppage on 21-December”. .They are now joined in hunger strike by Josep Andreu (ERC),
Autonomous Rapid Action Groups
(Grups Autònoms d’Accions Ràpides). According to a statement released by these groups, they have been set up so as to “not have to receive orders or guidelines from anyone, so that if one falls, the others will continue to perform their actions independently.”
Their objective is the “boycott” and “sabotage” of roads, railways, industrial zones and even communications cabling on 21st December.
300 Autonomous Groups call Blockade
Call to block the Llotja de Mar venue by Defend Republic Committees (CDRs)
The CDR have summoned people to the Llotja de Mar, 21 at the beginning of the morning, with the slogans ‘Tombem el régimen’ (Lets bring Down the Regime) and ‘Desbordemos’ (‘Lets Flood them’ (with demonstrators): the provocative Spanish Government meeting is to be held in a building between the harbour and the old city of Barcelona. Even the police have complained it cannot be defended without closing down the city) .
The CDR recommend “collective intelligence and organization”, and ask everybody to reserve the date of December 21 and pay attention to the official channels for possible mobilizations.The CDRs are a unique example of horizontal popular self-organization, on the lines of the 15M local assemblies or the anarchist committees of the Spanish Revolution. 
They had their baptism in the Referendum itself on October 1, 2017, opening polling stations, self-managing an election…They were the ones who called the general strike on November 8 and by now have great experience of blocking motorways, railways, etc. 
‘Since then between 250 and 300 CDR organisations have become a collective of the associative life of each town and city’.. Obviously the CDRs are statist, however they are very varied and we estimate there are anarchists in at least 25% of them.

The CDRs will have the support of the youth organization of the pro-independence left, Arran, and everyone is pointing to the LA FORJA COLLECTIVE , the first to announce its intentions to “paralyze the territory” with roadblocks and train tracks.
09.12.2018 17:32 Coordinated action of the CDRs to force open motorway toll gates in different parts of the country during the long weekend return home.. 
Currently the gates are blocked open on the AP-7 the main North South Motorway around Hospitalet de l’Infant (Baix Camp), Girona, Martorell and La Roca.. Instead of huge queues the cars flowed through , beeping with joy.The tolls of the tunnels of Vallvidrera and Manresa (C-16), and the AP-2 of Soses (Segrià) have also been opened.The CDR Catalunya points directly to Abertis and the IBEX35, which says tolls only serve to pay for their ‘vices’. In addition, they add that ‘the Catalan freeways are more than amortized’. In other parts of Spain the state pays for the motorways, toll free.
Student strikes
Universitats per la República has called for a stoppage of classes between 10 am and 2 pm to “show rejection to those who threaten to re-apply the 155 (Direct Rule From Madrid) and do not respect the right to self-determination.”
They have announced it through a press release signed by the platform’s spokesperson, Núria Nieto, who has criticized the celebration of the Council of Ministers in Barcelona “and on that date it is clearly a provocation”. Another spokesperson, Núria Marín, added that “we must show that students are the vanguard of the struggle to guarantee civil and political rights.”

El soberanismo mantiene los contactos a puerta cerrada para trazar una acción unitaria
A cuentagotas se van cerrando las iniciativas de la esfera soberanista en protesta a la presencia del Gobierno de Pedro Sánchez en Barcelona el próximo 21 de diciembre para celebrar un Consejo de Ministros. Lejos de la unanimidad, cada actor lanza lo suyo, aguantan la mano tendida al resto pero sin esperar la complicidad de todos. Pero lo cierto es que se mantienen reuniones a puerta cerrada para trazar una manifestación unitaria que todavía no han zanjado.
La ANC, después de las presiones recibidas desde las bases, ha anunciado su iniciativa: una marcha lenta de vehículos desde toda Catalunya hasta Barcelona, concretamente hasta la Ciutat de la Justícia, ya que a las 9 horas han convocado una concentración de apoyo al herido por una bala de goma en el referéndum del 1-O, Roger Español, imputado por lanzar presuntamente una valla a los agentes antes de su actuación policial.
Las territoriales de la entidad soberanista apretaron a la cúpula para que respondiese con un impulso singular a los internautas movilizados a través de las redes sociales y canales de mensajería instantánea bajo el lema “La Gran Aturada de País el 21-D“. Un canal en el que se ha difundido también a los G.A.A.R. (Grups Autònoms d’Accions Ràpides). Según un comunicado difundido por este colectivo, se han creado para “no tener que recibir órdenes ni directrices de nadie, de forma que si uno cae, los otros seguirán efectuando sus acciones de forma independiente”. Su objetivo es el “boicot” y “sabotaje” de carreteras, vías de tren, zonas industriales y hasta comunicaciones por cableado.
Ese mismo día finaliza el ultimátum de la ANC al Govern Torra sin que este haya presentado su exigido “plan para la república”. Fuentes de la asamblea aseguran que su primer gesto se realizará el próximo 22 de diciembre en el Fórum de Barcelona, en un evento en el que reivindicarán los acuerdos del último secretariado nacional del pasado 6 de diciembre, en una fecha que ya anunciaron en aquel entonces. En ese encuentro sellaron su participación en el Consell per a la República, reclamaron una lista unitaria para las europeas y clamaron por una “lucha no violenta”.
El “consejo de ministros popular” de Òmnium
Òmnium Cultural celebrará a las 11 horas un acto en la capital catalana que emulará la reunión del Ejecutivo central, una escenificación que desde la entidad han bautizado como “consejo de ministros popular” al que llaman a participar de forma “pacífica”. Se concentrarán en un lugar que prefieren mantener en secreto hasta pocos días antes de la cita, y protagonizarán un acto junto a organizaciones en favor de los derechos humanos, del ámbito de la educación y la sanidad, y hasta sindical.
En una carta a los socios, el presidente de la entidad Jordi Cuixart ha pedido que “mantengan tanto la determinación como la serenidad, tanto el coraje como la inteligencia”, y ha reclamado “no caer en ninguna trampa” y poner en práctica la “radicalidad democrática”.
Los CDR convocan “a primera hora”
Los CDR van por su lado, y prevén cortes de carretera y acciones amparadas en la “desobediencia civil”, además de una convocatoria “desde primera hora de la mañana” frente a la Llotja de Mar, lugar en el que se celebra la reunión del Gobierno. Contarán con el apoyo de la organización juvenil de la izquierda independentista, Arran, y todo apunta que también con el colectivo La Forja, el primero que anunció sus intenciones de “paralizar el territorio” con cortes de carretera y vías de tren.

Huelga de estudiantes
Universitats per la República ha llamado a hacer un paro de clases entre las 10.00 y las 14.00 horas para “mostrar rechazo a aquellos que amenazan con volver a aplicar el 155 y no respetan el derecho a la autodeterminación”.
Lo han anunciado a través de un comunicado firmado por la portavoz de la plataforma, Núria Nieto, que ha criticado que la celebración del consejo en Barcelona “y en esa fecha es claramente una provocación”. Otra portavoz, Núria Marín, ha añadido que “hay que mostrar que los estudiantes son la vanguardia de la lucha para garantizar los derechos civiles y políticos”.
