Tania Elis Hernández was detained on August 25, 2020, in the delegation of Gustavo Madero in Mexico City. Afterwards, she was taken to the Public Prosecutor’s office in Naucalpan. There she was held incommunicado and not allowed legal representation. .

She was transferred just one hour later to the women’s facility of the maximum-security prison of Almoloya de Juárez. Up to this moment, they have kept her isolated, constantly impeding visits from her family. Two weeks passed without her being able to see her family. She had no knowledge of the external situation, being held totally incommunicado.
We know that they have tortured her psychologically. They have humiliated and abused her integrity as a woman. The UNAM campus of FES Acatlán is using her as an example to repress whatever impulse of feminist rebellion or uprising.
She is being accused of group vandalism, of having participated in the burning of the facilities of FES Acatlán. They demand the restitution of damage for a sum of four million pesos.
What happened: An armed operation took place in the installations of FES Acatlán on April 5th of this year. Compañeras of the collective, Argúenderas y Revoltosas, had been resisting for around one month in the liberated and occupied space, denouncing sexual harassment and abuse against students in FES Acatlán.
This armed operation destroyed the space along with another space known as Kubo 906, which was set on fire during the violent eviction. Those resisting were beaten.
Some compañeras were stripped naked and touched by these intruders, reminiscent of a paramilitary operation. This is customary in FES Acatlán, where abusers and rapists are protected and covered up for. They want to maintain the degraded status to which women have been subjected for demanding their rights.
Protected by the head of security, Erasmo Gonzalez Castro, and supported by the head of community services, Carlos Armando Rosas Cruz, they were able to violently evict a space designed by and for women. They attacked the physical and mental integrity of the compañeras, utilizing cowardly methods. For example, media outlets such as Milenio and Universal, showed only videos of the compañeros, who in response to the attack and with the lack of response from emergency services, had to carry out such acts.

One of the beaten compañeros had a broken cheekbone and another compañera had severe contusions.
We seek justice. We need the help of all collectives to join this call. We ask that civil society and the students of all universities join and make viral this offense perpetuated by UNAM against our sister.

A group of people with ski masks, tubes, firearms and bulletproof vests, entered this April 5 around 4 in the morning at the Acatlán Faculty of Higher Studies, between 7 and 10 of the women were sexually assaulted, threatened, beaten and shot “towards their feet”.Two of the women activists were diagnosed as serious, while others and others were injured and burned as a result of the https://www.rompeviento.tv…
