Spanish rapper Pablo Hasel -who barricaded himself inside the University of Lleida, defying a court order for his arrest- was finally kidnapped by Catalan police on 16th February 2021 and jailed on a nine-month sentence for “insulting the Spanish monarchy, insulting the Spanish army and police forces, and praising terrorism and banned groups” both in his statements on social media and the lyrics of his songs.
Almost two hours after officers from the Catalan police force went in early on Tuesday, Hasel was led away shouting “they will never silence us; death to the fascist state”. Dozens of supporters had earlier built a barricade at the university in Lérida (Lleida in Catalan), 150km (90 miles) west of Barcelona. Pictures from the scene showed activists spraying fire extinguishers at police before he was arrested in the university rector’s building.

Por ello desde Tortuga consideramos que es importante que sepas hasta qué punto emplea la administración los impuestos para sostener estas penosas realidades.
Eso sí, no podemos decirte qué cantidad exacta destina el estado español (incluyendo a sus autonomías) para llevar a cabo estas políticas nefastas. No es posible, puesto que este esconde, como bien puede, estas vergonzosas partidas. Lo que sí podemos ofrecerte es una estimación a la baja de estos gastos:
Y el resultado (32.389,44 millones de euros) multiplica casi por cuatro el presupuesto del ministerio de defensa. Podemos asegurar, por tanto, que el estado español en 2020 destinó 686, 13 euros, como mínimo, por cada habitante a gasto militar y de control social.
Desde 2018 poco han variado estas cantidades, pues el estado ha venido prorrogando sus presupuestos. Las diferencias proceden de algunas comunidades autónomas, cuyos gastos de control social tampoco son siempre fácilmente identificables.

And the result (32,389.44 million euros) multiplies almost by four the budget of the defense ministry. We can assure, therefore, that the Spanish state in 2020 allocated 686, 13 euros, at least, for each inhabitant to military spending and social control.
These amounts have changed little since 2018, as the state has been extending its budgets. The differences come from some autonomous communities, whose social control expenses are not always easily identifiable either.
