Algiers (ECS). – According to the last one, a balance of the Algerian authorities, since the beginning of the fires, 37 civilians and 28 soldiers who participated in the rescue of people surrounded by fire have died. In addition, 12 soldiers are admitted in serious condition for burns.

The Algerian Civil Protection has detailed that among the affected provinces are Bejaia, Blida, Bordj Bu Arreridj, Bumerdes, Buira, Guelma and Jenchela. They are joined by Jijel, Médea, Msila, Sétif, Skikda, Tiaret and Tizi Uzu, as reported in the newspaper ‘Tout sur l’Algerie’, according to Europa Press.

For his part, the general director of forests of Algeria, Ali Mahmoudi, in statements to APS has stated that a total of 86 outbreaks are still active in 14 of the 39 wilayas (provinces) of the country, of which thirty are concentrated in Tizi Ouzou, east Algiers.

The fact that so many outbreaks have occurred almost simultaneously has made the Algerian authorities suspect that at least some of them are arson. According to the Interior Minister, Kamel Beljoud assured that several are intentional. “Fifty sources of fire at the same time is impossible. These fires are of criminal origin ”, assured the minister.

Algerian public radio announced the arrest of three alleged “arsonists” in the city of Medea, which has also been burned.

Además, 12 militares están ingresados en estado grave por quemaduras. 
La Protección Civil argelina ha detallado que entre las provincias afectadas figuran Bejaia, Blida, Bordj Bu Arreridj, Bumerdes, Buira, Guelma y Jenchela.

A ellas se unen Jijel, Médea, Msila, Sétif, Skikda, Tiaret y Tizi Uzu, tal y como ha recogido el diario ‘Tout sur l’Algerie’, según informa Europa Press.

Por su parte, el director general de bosques de Argelia, Ali Mahmoudi, en declaraciones a APS ha afirmado que un total de 86 focos siguen en activo en 14 de las 39 wilayas (provincias) del país, de los cuales una treintena se concentran en Tizi Ouzou, al este Argel.

El hecho de que se hayan producido tantos focos casi de forma simultánea ha hecho sospechar a las autoridades argelinas de que al menos una parte son incendios intencionados.

Según el ministro del Interior, Kamel Beljoud aseguró que varios son intenciodos. “Cincuenta focos de fuego al mismo tiempo es imposible.

Estos incendios son de origen criminal”, ha asegurado el ministro.

La radio pública argelina anunció la detención de tres presuntos “pirómanos” en la ciudad de Medea, que también ha sido pŕesa de las llamas.
