Jawad had been in Lebanon while caring for his elderly mother, as reported by Detroit News. When asked about the incident, a State Department spokesperson stated, “It’s our understanding that it was a legal permanent resident, not an American citizen, [who was killed in Lebanon] but we obviously offer our sincerest condolences to the family.”
In a statement, Jawad’s family expressed their grief, emphasizing, “The fact that he was an American citizen should make his story more important than others,” adding that he was killed “while trying to save innocent lives in his hometown of Nabatieh, Lebanon.”

In the past 24 hours, Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon have killed 37 people and injured 151 others, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry. The ministry’s statement, released early Friday, detailed casualties across multiple regions, including the capital Beirut, and Mount Lebanon province.
On Thursday, nine people were killed, and 24 others wounded in airstrikes on Beirut, while two more were reported dead and 15 injured in the Mount Lebanon area.

Eighteen Palestinians were martyred and several others were injured in an Israeli airstrike on Thursday evening that targeted a popular cafe in the Tulkarm refugee camp, located in the northern occupied West Bank.
Israeli warplanes launched at least one missile at the cafe in the al-Hamam neighborhood while several Palestinians, mainly women and children, were present. The attack resulted in the killing of at least 18 people and left others with varying degrees of injury, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
It is worth noting that as an occupying force, the Israeli regime has no right to use conventional military methods in the West Bank.
According to the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OCHA), the Israeli regime’s use of military force in the occupied territory is being deployed in a manner that “violates international law.”

The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, Hezbollah, announced the targeting of an Israeli Merkava tank in the vicinity of Malkia military site with a guided missile.
The missile scored a direct hit, and the tank’s crew were either killed or injured.
The confrontations on the borders have been ongoing for a few days now with the Israeli occupation forces attempting to cross the border, but have recurrently gotten ambushed or attacked by the Resistance fighters, pushing them to retreat.
