This text from the 30th Anniversary of the EZLN Uprising series opens with the “surprise” that was Marichuy’s candidacy as an independent candidate for the presidency of Mexico in 2018, continues with the creation of new Autonomous Municipalities and Caracoles in the Zapatista zone and the Journey for Life of the rebels from southeastern Mexico to Europe, Slumil K’ajxemk’op.

And it does not end, but continues with the future: the new reorganization of Zapatista autonomy and “the common people,” ready to move forward and with an eye toward at least one hundred and twenty years…

In 2016, from October 9 to 14, the National Indigenous Congress (CNI) held an important meeting, divided into two parts, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of its constitution, on October 12, 1996.

The first part of this meeting ended with the issuance of a statement signed jointly by the Zapatista Army of National Liberation and the National Indigenous Congress: “Let the earth tremble at its core.”“Que retiemble en sus centros la tierra”.

The text reviews the struggles and resistance of the indigenous peoples “to stop the capitalist storm and offensive that does not cease but becomes more aggressive every day and has become a civilizational threat not only for the indigenous and peasant peoples but for the people of the cities”.

It considers that this offensive is not going to stop, but on the contrary, will increase, they report that a consultation will be held in each of the towns on an agreement made at that meeting: “to appoint an indigenous governing council whose word will be materialized by an indigenous woman, delegate of the CNI as an independent candidate who will compete on behalf of the National Indigenous Congress and the Zapatista Army of National Liberation in the electoral process of 2018 for the presidency of this country”.

With this, the first part of the meeting was closed, which continued at the end of the year, once the consultation was made.

  • At least 40,738 people have been killed and 94,154 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza. An estimated 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led attacks on October 7.

Safety concerns remain amid Gaza’s polio vaccination campaign

Seem this brand of oral polio vaccinations is now banned in the west because it ‘LEAKS’ i.e. it has CAUSED outbreaks of polio. The traces of polio found in sewerage in Gaza are probably due to the vaccine which recently has been administered in Gaza. Only one single case of polio has been found so far, no deaths. The partial local ‘humanitarian pauses’, while welcome, is suspicious on multiple levels. see details HERE

The rulers of many countries seem to be on a death trip; hot wars between States, wars against migration, war against the planet’s resources and social war are in a phase of enthusiasm for death, reminiscent of descriptions shortly before the outbreak of the First World War.

Meanwhile, humanity has its fingers glued to smartphones, numbed by the flickering of algorithms.

As for the hot wars, many anarchists remain in the spectator position. In one of these wars, there are good reasons to join the Kurdish structures and be active against the Turkish State and its Islamist proxies.

Waiting for the Anarchist Guerrilla…

There are also good reasons to stay away from the PKK’s cult of personality and instead attack Erdogan’s interests in Europe, although the initial waves of action here have subsided considerably.

The anarchist space has also not yet developed any practice against the State systems that are largely responsible for the current massacres (NATO/EU/Israel/Iran/Russia) or the war profiteers that is capable of influencing the course of history.

Now, a text published on March 2, 2024 under the title “Developing Incisive Capacity: Making Actions Count”1 raises questions that are certainly relevant to many of us:

What could equip anarchists to carry out more significant strikes, to hone a quality of action that goes beyond the symbolic? What are the current obstacles to anarchists developing a capacity for action on a significant scale, organized in small autonomous groups that can coordinate around a particular focus? In other words, what needs to happen for more anarchists to establish the necessary skills and a certain routine for attacking identified vulnerabilities?

To answer these questions not only theoretically but also practically requires nothing less than an anarchist guerrilla. For with the methods developed in the autonomous movement over the last few decades, we have come no further than exactly where we have been for some time now.

A guerrilla, or at least guerrilla activities, require, among other things, that a group of people organize themselves over a longer period of time. This is where the first shortcoming of anarchist non-organization comes in: a short stay in the scene and a lack of commitment.

The development of a militant life takes longer than most people spend in the radical left milieus of the western metropolises. Combined with a misinterpretation of the anarchist perspective on committed organizing, this leads to the historical fact that, with few exceptions, most guerrilla groups were communist and/or aimed at national liberation.
