She began writing essays as a teenager; her writing was sparked by having survived a sexual assault at age twelve. She began her academic career teaching English at Eastern Illinois University; while there, she was a contributing editor for Bluestem magazine, founded Tiny Hardcore Press, and started to produce short stories, essays, and novels. YULIN: the same massacre this year

venus2407's avatarWorld Animals Voice

In Germany alone, 40,000 piglets end up in the rubbish bins every day, they are rubbish and are not needed.
Per day!
Half dead, lying helplessly dying, they die a painful, slow death after being hit on the floor.
The cattle are hung by one leg, their necks cut off, millions of animals die the same gruesome death for minutes, not just at a week-long festival, but every day.
Only these “other” animals were not declared as pets by humans.
One wonders if Yulin would get that much attention when it came to pigs or calves.

Of course, the Yulin massacre is not justified by the fact that it could be worse in every country with different “animal species”.

ALL animals have the same feelings and exactly the same right to a happy life without suffering and without being killed for their bodies in the end.
The same pain is…

Chilling at the waterfall in front of our home

Most people know me as “Dr Cyren (Asteraceya) Wong” of Naturetalksback, but I did not always go by this name. I started coming out to my family and community at the age of 14. I believe they have always had my best interests at heart, but the pre-existing norms and values of our society got in the way and only succeeded in pushing me to a point where I felt effectively estranged for years. By the age of 16, I believed that I could only be happy if I was like “everybody else”. There were always expectations that I have never been able to fulfil which have always instilled within me a sense of profound inadequacy, anxiety, and insecurity. Giving myself a new name was a powerful…

With that being said, we have to ask our selves: then what is our vision and what is the strategy to make that vision a reality?

Radical Resistance for Prison Abolition by Comrade Frank Talk, a Captive New Afrikan Revolutionary

We believe in a two-pronged or multi-pronged approach. We do not support a strategy that involves making prisons more comfortable or kinder, gentler places of oppression.

Belfast Anarchists /Ainrialaithe Bhéal Feirste: Helping build working class resistance on streets and in the workplace!

Jun 20, 2021 by https://derryanarchists.blogspot.com .. shared with thanks

In Belfast today, a small group of anarchists, abolitionists, and anti-authoritarian communists has formed around old and new anarchist infrastructure.

For wont of a better label, we are Belfast Anarchists/Ainrialaithe Bhéal Feirste – leave the fancy names and acronyms to the statists, we’re here to build community solidarity, smash the state, and abolish capitalism (if the sea doesn’t swallow us before the insurrection).

We are a group with shared anarchist values but representing slightly different tendencies inside the anarchist, autonomist, and abolitionist family. Anarchists often struggle to pass on the flame to the next generation as by our very nature we tend to prioritise the here and now over long-term building, so while there have been many anarchist groups before us but most of us only know of them through myth and legend.

On June 20th, “Squadron 421” arrived at the Bay of Bayona, Galicia, in the Spanish State aboardLa Montaña. On June 22nd, after 47 days crossing the Atlantic, the seven EZLN delegates landed in the European country amid a reception that included activists, artists, support groups of the Zapatista movement in that country, among others.

Upon their arrival they were received by a group of people with banners and some boats“with compas from rebellious Europe”who went to greet them. In addition, the Spanish Civil Guard went to “La Montaña” to do“routine checks.”

In the“Llegamos”communiqué it stated:“The European sky cries, moved. Its tears are confused with those that moisten the cheeks – tanned by the sun, sea, anguish and adrenaline – of the intrepid 421 Squadron. In their steps, in their glances, in their heartbeats, the Mayan peoples…
