London Kurds begin hunger strike as more arrests made at Haringey Community Centre

Members of London’s Kurdish community have set up a solidarity encampment, and launched a hunger strike, to protest violent police raids and the arrests of seven people for terrorism offences.

London Kurds begin hunger strike as more arrests made at Haringey Community Centre

Members of London’s Kurdish community have initiated a protest encampment and hunger strike, aimed at defending Haringey’s Kurdish Community Centre (KCC) against police repression.

Raid on community centre and several homes

On 27 November, police mounted a violent raid of the KCC. Officers smashed their way in with sledgehammers, and blocked nearby streets. Several homes were also raided and the families of those arrested, some of them children, were beaten by officers. Seven people have now been arrested.

A statement from the community said: “Between 2 and 3am on the morning of Wednesday, November 27, Met Police raided the homes of… Kurdish activists, arresting them, and beating their families, including children. Their families were then expelled from their homes and will not be allowed to return for 14 days.”

Tens of thousands of Kurds are trying to evacuate Tell Rifaat, Sehba and Esrefiye. Many of these people fled Efrîn (2018) and now have to flee again from Turkish Islamists who have surrounded them and will not let them move.

Can a Fascist Dictator be Elected? YES.. and Erdogan threatens Prison, Dismissal and Death to NO voters

The  referendum in Turkey is to give the president Erdogan nearly total dictatorial powers. But can a Fascist Dictator really  be Elected?

YES because in this case Erdogan has already seized dictatorial powers.. he’s supposed to be a generally symbolic president yet see below  the endless list of atrocities he has ordered.

But is he a fascist? Well, he is the absolute power in the populist far right AKP party which advocates extermination of 18 million kurds and the creation of an Ottoman Empire.

Though he screams and bullies abroad he is at home a master manipulator, head of a criminal family and business mafia, adept at abusing nationalist, sexist  and racial prejudices and feelings of resentment (even working class resentment against rich europeans) to whip up frenzied mob fervour and pursue witch-hunts against Kurds, leftists, feminists, Gulanists, minorities and anyone who dares to criticize him (or is a friend or family of any of the above).

Is this fascism.. in my definition YES. The referendum in this climate is a black joke, with every kind of pressure imaginable against No campaigners, with zero international observers coming, and with the most recent elections in Nov 2015 described as ‘stinking of mass fraud’. Fascism in Action: Waves of 800 dawn Arrests of Left, Feminist and pro-Kurdish

There are already 800  more pro-Kurdish, feminist and left-wing civilians detained in Turkey in just 48 hours.

Meanwhile theTurkish state is receiving billions from European taxpayers in blackmail money to not to send refugees North.

And both the USA and Russia are wooing the dictator Erdogan as a strategic partner and customer in their insane capitalist expansion,  To the extent that both give permission to invade Syria and to bomb and shell SDF and YPG/YPJ areas practising non ethnic, non religious and anti sexist direct democracy.. to replace them with factions of whatever crazed jihadi drug addicts they can find, as long as they are  pro-Turkey.

The few hours that the assault lasted are serving the Turkish president very well. Without any trial, without evidence, without elements of judgment, without international observers, Erdogan continues with his purge … without limits.

A state Emergency Decree, has served, to detain 195,000 opponents, dissidents or simply unconnected people. The figures have been compiled by the Istanbul Human Rights Association (İHD) which has presented them in front of Bakırköy women’s prison.cnlzhvjwaaadndv

The report stressed that women prisoners are ‘being  killed by solitary confinement’, it demanded the release of the women prisoners with illnesses and denounced the defenceless situation of  the children who are incarcerated with their mothers.

In total there are 510 children prisoners under 6 years old.

The association has estimated that there are 5,971 minors in Erdogan’s  prisons and 79  LGBT prisoners.

The main problems faced by prisoners of Erdogan are poor nutrition and unhealthy food that cause stomach upsets and poor hygiene in cells of 6-7 people.torture-collage

However, the worst situation is for political prisoners: they are subjected to torture in jail and forced nudity.

Erdogan ya ha detenido 195.000 personas desde el supuesto golpe

El OHAL, decreto de Estado de Urgencia, ha servido, para detener a 195.000 opositores, disidentes o, simplemente, no afectos. Las cifras las ha recopilado la Asociación de Derechos Humanos ( İHD) de Estambul que las ha presentado frente a la prisión de mujeres de Bakırköy.ctdyxarueaau23z

En la misma denunció que “el aislamiento de las presas las mata”, solicitó la libertad de las presas enfermas y denunció la situación de indefensión de los niños que están encarcelados con sus madres.
