The papers call us ‘anti-systemites’
Who are we? What are we against? When do we appear?
When do we we vanish?
Now we understand, that veteran, with glasses and gray hair, who first glanced at the fire and then threw on cartons to stir it up: he was an anti-systemite!
And how about those adolescents who parked their bikes and helped break the windows of the museum Diocesiá (the fraudsters and abusers). They were anti system too.
And all those African scrap collectors who nobody supported, maybe they helped light fires as well.
That lot with the banner “Against the dictatorship of Capital, General Strike” definitely anti-systemites
Those who stole jeans too, then threw them into the fire, more of the same.
Those who used the chairs of the pizzeria to build barricades, too.
Those jugglers celebrating the police retreat
Also that banner on the occupied bank building”bankers exploit us, the employers sell us, politicians suffocate us and communist and socialist unions lie to us.” or something like that. And what about that flyer “The economy is fragile … Lets smash it” and the Wild 29th September, all anti-system.
And the journalist, who said “this is nothing new, these are the revolutionaries who, like the old mole, come out to light after weakening the foundations of power”, could he be also an anti? What about the judge who allowed Bank occupation to last until the day of the General Strike, was that judge a bit of an anti-systemite too?
Could it be that you are the only one left who isn’t an anti? The only one still praising the capitalist system?
Because what we’re talking about is anti-capitalism. That system evicting and sacking some, marginalizing and exploiting others and isolating the majority. That system from which only a tiny minority of owners profits. A system that from the start needed police to defend it, harsh laws to perpetuate it and journalists to legitimize it.
How come they never say what system we are anti? Why not clarify that it’s Capitalism?, Of that system in crisis that few now dare to defend. Why not say that we’re chanting: “anti, anti, anti-capitalist”. Why not come and ask what world we want? Or even, why we don’t want all this.
Why are they always labeling us ”antisystemites”, will it be synonymous with antisocials? We think not, because they know that if there is someone who enjoys partying, mixed up and arrambado, it is us! Regardless of age or sexual preferences.
We are against capitalism, we fight to abolish this system based on wage labor and social inequality, and if we use violence it’s because it is a system that from its inception imposed and used it to defend itself, that deprives us of the means of subsistence and forces us to work (for the owners of things). We know that if we were to repeat the 1936 revolution, convert the Ritz into a soup kitchen and the farms of Aragon into collectivised communities, the State would answer us with guns. So we are aware that an uprising will have to use something other than rocks to defend itself.
But above all we hate the daily violence of capital, killing in its wars and famines or administering death in our places of work and study.
And we’re stuck with this buzzword from the mass media: anti-systemites.
After the battle of the eviction of the Cine Princesa squatted social center, back in 1996 they reckoned our average age between eighteen and thirty years, years later, in the anticapitalist battles against presidential summits, we were still labelled as ‘youths’. Almost a decade later, they again put us in that age bracket. Do they think that time doesn’t pass for us? That our rebellion was just a matter of youth? Or do they think we are the theorists and the youth throw the stones. No, we also threw stones and objects and lit fires, and the young people never stop building new theory. Like those hooded in Madrid who climbed scaffolding to unfurl a banner with the slogan “trade unions are traitors, the revolution is the workers” pure theory, poetry almost, and the other one “He who plants misery, harvests rage”.
But enough of trying to clarify things for officials and Power. This writing is not for journalists, not to explain why, on that wild day, our anger against their powerful lies spilled over and broke the windows of their mobile units.
We address this to all of you, and to us too, to all our friends and comrades, who that day broke out of capitalist daily life, in the center of Barcelona, for all of us who, sooner or later, will meet again, determined again, organized again, together as a true community in struggle.

A big hug to all that after the 29 S. walked with a smile in the streets … shhhh! When you walk past the police lines get serious, they’re looking for us.
Companions, prisoners to the streets,
streets for insurrection!
