The Ukraine is more or less bankrupt, ruined equally by predator capitalist western bankers and rapacious Russian oligarchs and swindlers. Now after 20 years pillage we see nationalists and macho morons on both sides playing WAR CHICKEN for the right to continue sucking the country dry for the foreseeable future.
So who is ”right”? Both the US/EU and the Russian leaders are ODIOUS IDIOTS playing with the lives of us all for their own megalomaniac obsessions with power, prestige, rape culture and greed.
The last time there was any real freedom in the Ukraine was way back in the Machnovist Revolution when authoritarian government was abolished in favour of horizontal assemblies and people’s power really existed.
So what about Crimea?? Why shouldn’t they be part of Russia if the majority want it? Secession has been recognised over and again all over the world, though normally for ‘independence’ (read controlled by western banks) not to join another State.
If the Crimeans wish to be ruled by Putin’s mega corrupt national/macho regime, which at least pays for its military bases, instead of paying debt forever to the IMF, EU and World Bank, then why not? Why should we face a World Annihalation just because the Americans feel humiliated as the biggest bully on the block?

So why not let Crimea go? Crimea may be 50% Russians, but it’s also 20% Tartars, and the entire community of Crimean Tartars were deported to Siberia by Stalin on suspicion of being anti Soviet.. the same arrogant authoritarian mentality as Putin, who sent Pussy Riot women to Siberia for singing a song against him, who basically outlawed gays, who arrested Greenpeace activists in International Waters and held them for piracy, etc etc.. The Tartars do NOT want to be part of Russia, and of course have just as much right to secede and set up the state of Tart-land as anyone else!
Manipulating ethnic cultures to create racist ultra nationalist States caused tens of millions of deaths in the last century. Until finally the age of Nation States comes to an end in a federation of autonomous ethnic areas the threat of fascist or populist criminals taking power and starting wars remains a reality.
Simferopol (Ukraine) (AFP) – Two Femen protesters were arrested in Crimea’s capital Simferopol on Thursday after staging a topless demonstration against Russia’s intervention in Ukraine in front of the regional parliament.
One protestor was stopped by police within seconds while another ran around, repeatedly shouting “Stop Putin’s War”, which she had also written across her chest. They were beaten and kicked by a hysterical crowd of mainly policemen before being dragged away. Next day more anti war activists were badly beaten up.
