This morning 10 vans from the catalan riot police brigade have evicted La Chispa, after nearly 10 years of occupation. 
The police arrived at 08.30, knocked down the door after 20 minutes of blows and more than 40 Catalan riot police entered and left the 2 people who were up in the pigeon loft. (Note: The Catalan police are now controlled by the ultra-right regime in Madrid and there has been an upsurge in evictions since then). They have been identified and the house was searched. The police found and evicted a third person who was in the sheds adjacent to the house. Then, plain clothes agents with covered faces entered, and searched the space and have taken a bag with several objects.
From 2013 the center became an inspiration for other anarchist projects like l’Ateneu Llibertari l’Arrel,, the Occupied Police Station La CORB, and l’Assemblea Llibertària. ….Dànae Quiroz
Meanwhile some things were being removed from the warehouse and some people approached and helped to rescue as many thinghs as possible. Around 10 in the morning, finally, the police officers completely prevented more things from being taken out and the huge demolition machine of Biosca began demolishing the center and destroyed the entire CSO, both the big house and the sheds.
By that time, a group of people in solidarity were concentrating around the farm and a tenth have tried to cut traffic to the N 240 but the ”Catalan” police prevented them, they were retained and identified and they arrested a girl and took her to be identified at the police station.
La Chispa was born with the intention of being a rural occupation project, as criticism of the capitalist system and the demand for other practices, and was born to make an abandoned house a place of struggle, political reflection and life.
During these almost 10 years, activities have been carried out, with more or less consistency, with the aim of creating a critical, exchangeable, leisure-festive atmosphere with a political background, of personal and collective growth, of debate and diffusion around different issues, problems and struggles.
It has also served as a meeting point and housing for many people who have passed through the city of Lleida.
Despite the eviction of La Chispa, we will continue to be busy because it is a tool for confronting private property. Because when we use it we are using an unused space that was only waiting for its own degradation, reaffirming the logic that the spaces are of whoever uses them and questioning the obsessed possession of things.
The area of the Lleida orchards is being invaded by the city, and in danger of disappearing. Progress envisages an urban life, individual, consumerist, self-sufficient, driven to the ground and dependent on an established rhythm.
We opt for the occupation of rural areas and thus give life and activity to the countryside, we do not want the excessive and dehumanized growth of the cities; which gives rise to speculation and expropriation of land to make large urbanizations or shopping centers, and roads to facilitate the transport of goods, with the aim of enriching and perpetuating the capitalist system. 
The Cervera Carràs Group with the complicity of the Paeria is a clear example of these urban and corrupt practices, protected by the laws of the powerful, with the lands of La Chispa and its surroundings.
They have evacuated La Chispa because it was a space of disobedience to the laws of capital, which they use for their interests legitimizing (state violence) and delegitimizing the actions that arise at the foot of the street for those who rebel.
For all this and more, we encourage and call for solidarity and social mobilization so that we can all express our rebellion against this rotten system and this life of shit and exploitation that they want us to live; and so that the fact that all people have a place to live and find ourselves is a reality. 
And what better place to start than an abandoned place where only the dust and cobwebs lived, abandoned with speculative intents, as was the land of the La Chispa Occupied Social Center. Lets evict the powerful!

Like the occupying collective we understand the occupation as a cultural, social and political action to promote creative spaces, meeting, gathering and dissemination of ideas, workshops and to denounce real estate speculation and model of consumerist leisure that exists in our city.
After a lengthy legal process against four ex-occupiers the vibrant, active, self-managed SPARK project among the orchards of Lleida is condemned to be evicted by capitalist speculation. ”The Court Sentence against La Chispa condemns the people judged to 3 months / fine at the rate of 5 euros a day. The ruling also agreed to the eviction of all persons who are in the CSO Chispa and that the speculative company (UA sl) be reimbursed for ‘damage to property’. We want to make clear that this house. if not for for being squatted for nine years, would have already collapsed due to the state of abandonment; and that the only intention is to demolish the house to speculate on the price of the ground”.
Interestingly the occupied space is on the N-240 road at the exit of Alpicat, dedicated to commercial entertainment and the promotion of consumerism without taking into account the needs and the residents of the city or working conditions of people they work there.
In addition, the occupied center is owned by “UA S.L.”, a company which is part of the investment holding company “Grup Cervera Carras”. Since 2000 this company has spent millions buying up cheap **land which now, with the financial crisis past, has been hugely revalued after the area was requalified as urban…. CGT

| Aquest matí 10 furgons de la brigada mòbil dels mossos d’esquadra han desallotjat el cso la chispa, després de quasi 10 anys d’okupació. La policia s’ha presentat a les 08.30 a la chispa, ha enderrocat la porta després de 20 minuts de cops i més de 40 agents antidisturbis han entrat i han fet sortir les 2 persones que estaven pujades al Palomar. Els han identificat i registrat dins la casa i després els han fet sortir al costat d’una tercera persona que es trobava a les naus adjacents a la casa. Després han entrat agents vestits de paisà però amb les cares tapades, els quals han registrat l’espai i s’han endut una bossa amb diversos objectes. Mentrestant s’anava traient algunes coses de la nau del centre social i alguna gent s’acostava per ajudar a treure el màxim de coses possible. Cap a les 10 del matí, finalment, els mossos han impedit del tot treure més coses i han donat pas a la màquina de l’empresa BBiosca que ha enderrocat tot el CSO,tant la casa gran com les naus. En aquell moment un grup de persones solidàries s’ha anat concentrant al voltant de la finca i una desena han intentat tallar el trànsit a la N 240 però els mossos els hi ha impedit, els han retingut i identificat i s’han endut una noia per identificar-la a comissaria. La Chispa va néixer amb la intenció de ser un projecte d’okupació rural, de crítica al sistema capitalista i de reivindicació d’altres pràctiques, i va néixer per fer d’una casa abandonada un lloc de lluita, reflexió política i vida. Durant aquests gairebe 10 anys s’han anat realitzant, amb més o menys constància, activitats amb l’objectiu de crear un ambient crític, d’intercanvi, lúdico-festiu amb un rerefons polític, de creixement personal i col•lectiu, de debat i difusió entorn a diferents temes, problemàtiques i lluites. Així com també ha servit de punt de trobada i de vivenda per a moltes persones que han passat per la ciutat de Lleida. Tot i el desallotjament de la Chispa continuarem okupant perquè és una eina de confrontació de la propietat privada. Perquè quan okupem estem donant ús a un espai inutilitzat, que només estava esperant a la seva pròpia degradació, reafirmant la lògica que els espais són de qui els utilitza i qüestionant la possessió obsessa de les coses. La zona de l’horta de Lleida està sent invaïda per la ciutat, i en perill de desaparèixer. El progrés contempla una vida urbana, individual, consumista, gens autosuficient, desarrelada a la terra i dependent d’un ritme establert. Optem per l’okupació d’espais rurals i així donar vida i activitat al camp, no volem el creixement desmesurat i deshumanitzat de les ciutats; que dóna peu a l’especulació i l’expropiació de terrenys per fer-ne grans urbanitzacions o centres comercials, i carreteres per facilitar el transport de mercaderia, amb l’objectiu d’enriquir-se i perpetuar el sistema capitalista. El Grup Cervera Carràs amb la complicitat de la Paeria són un clar exemple d’aquestes pràctiques urbanístiques, i corruptes, emparades per les lleis dels poderosos, amb els terrenys de la Chispa i voltants. Han desallotjat la Chispa perquè era un espai de desobediència de les lleis del capital, les quals utilitzen pels seus interessos legitimant la (violència d’Estat) i deslegitimitzant les accions sorgides a peu de carrer per aquelles que es rebelen. Per tot això i més, animem i cridem a la solidaritat i la mobilització social per a que totes expressem el malestar davant d’aquest sistema putrefacte i d’aquesta vida de merda i d’explotació que volen que visquem; i per a que el fet que totes les persones tinguem un lloc on viure i trobar-nos sigui una realitat. I què millor que si és un lloc abandonat on només hi vivia la pols i la grisor, amb intensions especulatives, com ha sigut el terreny del C.S.O. La Chispa. Desallotjem als poderosos! |
