Chinese vaccine against Covid-19 will be a public good of universal access

(How different the attitude of China and Russia, always ready to cooperate with the world, is similar to that of the United States, which is characterized by its selfishness, lowliness and criminality)

Latin Press

Mexico, Jul 23 (Prensa Latina) The Chinese vaccine against Covid-19 will be a public good with universal access, Foreign Minister Wang Yi told her colleagues in Latin America, according to a statement from the Mexican Foreign Ministry.

Last night, Mexico and China co-chaired a virtual meeting of foreign ministers from Latin America and the Caribbean, which aimed to consolidate international cooperation against Covid-19 and jointly face the challenges derived from the pandemic.

The meeting was chaired by Mexico’s Secretary of Foreign Relations, Marcelo Ebrard, and by Minister Wang.

Caitlin Johnstone debunks the CIA Uighur Propaganda

Caitlin Johnstone on the CIA Uighur Narrative

via The Most Revolutionary Act shared with thanks

By Caitlin Johnstone

My social media notifications have been lighting up the last few days with virulent Chinagaters sharing a video which purports to show Uighur Muslims being loaded onto a train to be taken to concentration camps.

It’s actually an old video that had already surfaced last year, but it is magically making the rounds again as a new and shocking revelation in 2020 now that western China hysteria has been officially kicked into high gear, at exactly the same time the US enacts one of the most dangerous and incendiary escalations of recent years in the South China Sea.

China says almost 40 states openly back its Xinjiang policy | Euronews

Everyone tagging me in this video presents it as a self-evident “gotcha” moment, in exactly the same way Russiagaters spent years tagging me in every HUGE BOMBSHELL WALLS ARE CLOSING IN item of thinly sourced narrative fluff in their debunked conspiracy theory that the Kremlin had infiltrated the highest levels of the US government.

They are one hundred percent certain that the video shows Uighurs being loaded onto a train to go to a concentration camp, solely because that is what the bit of text over the video tells them they are seeing.

They aren’t looking at the actual data and thinking critically about it, they’re looking at the narrative and believing it on blind faith.

Which, in a post-Iraq invasion world, is an absolutely insane thing to do when presented with information about a nation that is targeted by the US-centralized empire.

Fox News hosts echo Trump, blame China for coronavirus pandemic ...

In reality there’s nothing in the video which tells us that these are Uighur people being sent to a “re-education camp” and not merely a conventional prison transfer of convicted criminals, the likes of which take place in the far more populous US prison system all the time.

It’s an unknown. We are told by the BBC’s Andrew Marr (the same Andrew Marr whose phony journalism Noam Chomsky derided years ago) that it has been “authenticated by western intelligence agencies and by Australian experts”, which in practice are the same thing, and that’s really the extent of the evidence.

What if your identity doesn’t matter at all?

Post-coronavirus, will “My non-binary status is about life and death” seem more clearly like the joke it is?

by Meghan Murphy 2.6kSHARES

In a matter weeks, we’ve all been yanked back to reality. Most of us, anyway. It seems some stragglers remain blissfully ignorant, continuing on with their lives much as they would have pre-global pandemic. Refusing to care about anyone but ourselves remains a popular pastime among humans, as ever.

Satiria on Twitter: "Opinion: Me being non-binary is not identity ...

GQ published a badly timed article last week, just days before reality (and panic) set in for most, profiling Ezra Miller — an actor I’ve never heard of and wish I had still not.

Miller is 27 years old, insists on being referred to as “they” or “them,” and has a personality to match these demands. He is intolerable, in other words. The fawning interviewer, who can’t have been more than 30 years old themselves, or they wouldn’t have fallen for the embarrassing charade of faux-intellectualism, conveyed through the use of as many big words as Miller could memorize, quotes the actor saying things like:

“Straightness and cis-ness and whiteness and racism, as in the belief in race, physical appearance as a determining factor for fucking anything, including ethnicity, ethnography — these are all like the circus, the carnival, the Hollywood instead of all the different storytelling practices… All these things are relatively recent colonial inventions.”

How Trump Stole 2020: The Hunt for America’s Vanished Voters, by Greg Palast

Rise Up Times's avatarRise Up Times

Racist voter roll purges of the kind done in Georgia two years ago are a fundamental threat to democracy.

Book Excerpt by Greg Palast / With illustrations by Ted Rall Posted on Scheerpost.com  July 8, 2020

Adapted from the publisher, Seven Stories Press:

Election day is still five months away, but have Republicans already stolen it? Vote theft was once considered to be a marginal issue that no one wanted to talk about, but as the stakes have risen and the facts have become known—in large part thanks to journalist Greg Palast — it is now recognized as one of the central issues deciding our presidential elections.

What follow are the first four chapters of Palast’s latest investigative masterpiece, a propulsive deep dive into the story of the racially poisonous schemes to steal the 2020 election, the political operatives behind the trickery — and the hard right billionaires funding…

July 25th: Call for a Day of Action in Solidarity With Portland & Against the Federal Invasion

Filed under: Anarchist Movement, AnnouncementYouth Liberation Front https://itsgoingdown.org/july-25th-day-of-action/

The Youth Liberation Front (YLF) makes the following call for a day of action in solidarity with the ongoing

resistance in Portland.

Youth Liberation Front

On July 25th, youth abolitionists are calling for a national and global march against the institution of policing. We are demanding justice for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Stephon Clark, Philando Castille, Eric Garner, Quanice Hayes, Patrick Kimmons, Sean Monterrosa and the thousands more taken by the hands of racist police.

Time and time again, the neo-liberal state has offered promises of “reform” with no real action ever taken. The time for discussing reform is over, we need full abolition for our communities to be safe and free from rampant police terror.

We are calling on all abolitionists, youth or non-youth, to coordinate mass protests on July 25th to show the world that the fire of this uprising is still burning strong, and that flames will just keep getting bigger until the police state has been dismantled once and for all.

This call to action comes right after Trump has announced he will be sending the federal troops that have been occupying Portland, Oregon, all across the nation.

The Federal Government has already waged war against Portland, which has been protesting everyday for 50 days straight, and now feds are going to war against protesters everywhere in an attempt to take control and snuff out the fire of this uprising. We must become more powerful than them.

Form an affinity group.
Coordinate an action.
Get tactical.
Mask up.
Bring a friend.
Show up.

Jen Izaakson and Tae Kyung Kim report on the growing radical feminist movement inspiring women across South Korea. June 15, 2020

by Jen Izaakson and Tae Kyung Kim0 2.5kSHARES from Feminist Current shared witrh thanks

Last fall, Jen Izaakson travelled to South Korea to document the rise of the radical feminist movement as part of a Cambridge University working group, after winning a research grant, interviewing over 40 female activists. She co-authored this piece with Tae Kyung Kim, a Korean radical feminist from Seoul, currently living and studying in Berlin.

News of the growing feminist movement in South Korea has reached Western media, but the roots of this radical uprising are undercovered. Mainstream media reporting in the West often covers the aspects of South Korean feminism that mirror our own achievements back to us, leaving the particular achievements of Korean women and the most radical aspects of the movement less visible.

In September, over 40 women from the South Korean radical feminist movement were interviewed as part of academic research. The results of those findings are summarized in this article.

Due to the brevity of this piece, lots of information cannot be covered, but we have tried to include the material that will best demonstrate how the movement emerged; its historical context; and what tactics, strategies, and political formations constitute radical feminism in South Korea.

Male violence politicizes and radicalizes

In 2016, the infamous “Gangnam murder” instigated outcry among women. A 34-year-old man named Kim Sung-min stabbed a 23-year-old woman (whose name remains under a publication ban) to death inside a gender-neutral washroom at a karaoke bar. Kim Sung-min waited inside the washroom, allowing several men to enter and exit before a woman came in.

In court, he explained, “I did it because women have always ignored me.” This is a similar explanation to those offered by other “incels” (involuntary celibates) who have perpetrated violent murders, but in South Korea, government authorities explicitly denied the misogynistic motive, despite Kim Sung-min’s own testimony.

We are many, they are Few.. We will be victorious!

shared from The Acorn , with thanks. illustrations added!

Another political fault line has been opened up by the rapidly spiralling events of 2020.

acorn 2019b

As we wrote yesterday, the Covid scare has found us sharing the anti-authoritarian analysis of people beyond the usual anarchic spheres, while many supposed comrades are bizarrely supportive of the official state narrative.

US6

However, the current street uprisings across the USA, sparked by the murder of George Floyd, have revealed a peculiar limit to some people’s opposition to the nascent global police state.

Unlike us, they have not found hope in the sight of thousands upon thousands of people of all races reclaiming the streets of dozens of cities, overturning police cars, setting on fire the buildings used to oppress them.

They apparently don’t think that it is reasonable, or helpful, to come together and physically resist the state and its hired thugs!

In taking this stance, they reveal that they have understood nothing about the system which has controlled and exploited us for so long, and which is now dropping its liberal mask to reveal its true totalitarian nature.

They have not grasped that its so-called “democracy” is fake, that the “reforms” it sometimes offers us are illusory, that the avenues it provides for us to try and change things are all time-wasting dead-ends.
