The Spanish police have cracked down yet again on young people who demonstrated in support of the Arrotxapea Occupied Center .
At least 6 people were arrested after poilice violently attacked the protest against the eviction from Autonomous Squat Center (Gaztetxea). Several were also injured. Those arrested spent the night at the police station. They were eventually released with serious charges the next day
The Iruindarra neighborhood has dawned with a notable plague of the Spanish National Paramilitary Police in the vicinity of the Arrotxapea gaztetxe, located on Artika Street, with a helicopter of the aforementioned army of rightwing Spanish thugs flying over the area.
After the acts of repression, from the gaztetxe, a rally was called for the evening at 8:00 p.m. in the Red Square of Arrotxapea to denounce the eviction and the arrests.
However, this mobilization was prohibited and they decided to transfer it to the Parque de los Enamorados (Lovers Park). Hundreds of people gathered and chanted shouts like “atxilotuak askatu”, “utzi bakean, alde hemendik” or “you are neither wanted nor needed”.
Last month the gaztetxe reported through its social networks the publication of a court ruling in which they were informed that the self-managed space would be evicted on Thursday, September 2.

Al menos 6 personas han sido detenidas tras el desalojo de Gaztetxea. Varias también resultaron heridas. Las arrestadas pasarán la noche en comisaría.
El barrio iruindarra ha amanecido con un notable despliegue de la Policía española en las inmediaciones del gaztetxe de Arrotxapea, situado en la calle Artika, con un helicóptero del citado cuerpo sobrevolando la zona.
Posteriormente a los hechos de represión, desde el gaztetxe, se había convocado una concentración para esta tarde a las 20.00 en la Plaza Roja de Arrotxapea para denunciar el desalojo y las detenciones. Sin embargo, esta movilización ha sido prohibida y han decido trasladarla al Parque de los Enamorados. Cientos de personas se han congregado y han entonado gritos como «atxilotuak askatu», «utzi bakean, alde hemendik» o «ni se os quiere ni se os necesita».
Cabe recordar que el mes pasado el gaztetxe informó mediante sus redes sociales de la publicación de una sentencia judicial en la que se les comunica que el espacio autogestionado sería desalojado este jueves, 2 de setiembre.
La sentencia responde a un juicio abierto en el Juzgado de Iruñea contra varias personas acusadas de ocupar el edificio.
