Since Russia’s war with Ukraine began, we have attended 6 Councils of Ministers in Spain. Little is reflected in them of the actions undertaken by the Spanish State, either for the reception of Ukrainians, or for the expatriation of Spaniards in Poland or in the delivery of humanitarian aid and weapons to the Ukrainian army.
What we do know is the unstoppable and unbridled increase in military spending committed by the Sánchez-Díaz government and its acolytes. An expense that, in war or in peace, always finds excuses (the truth is that little founded) to continue growing and growing.
This time the committed expense has three fundamental characteristics to add to the usual ones:
a) That it is largely multi-annual, that is to say, that not only does it commit spending to be executed this year, but it already commits a military budget for the future (553.23 million to be executed in 2023 and 2024), a nice way to strengthen the militaristic bet made in Spain.
b) That it pulls the contingency fund again to, three months after the approval of the 2022 budgets, increase this year’s spending through the trick (censored by the Court of Auditors) of going to the Contingency Fund to increase military spending above forecast. On this occasion, the Contingency Fund will pay no less than 569.85 million euros for military interference operations abroad. An expense that more than doubles that budgeted for Foreign Affairs (which pays a significant pinch of this type of expense) as well as for Defense.
c) That a large amount of the military spending that is increased with respect to the budgeted amount is not paid from Defense, but from the Treasury, Industry, Foreign Affairs or Ecological Transition (the latter has been acquiring a hidden role in the patriotic militarism).
The total number of committed spending is shocking, nothing new in the shocking Spanish military spending. In total, 1,523.61 million euros more than expected.
An increase of almost 10 percent in less than two months
Of this figure, the year 2022 already represents an increase of 971.98 euros with respect to the budget recognized by the Ministry of Defense (13% above the budget if we take into account the defense budget without the Special Programs for Armaments or the 9.2% if we count the budget with these programs).

Desde que empezó la guerra de Rusia con Ucrania hemos asistido a 6 Consejos de Ministros en España.
Poco se refleja en ellos de las acciones emprendidas por el Estado Español, ya sea para la acogida de ucranianos, ya para la expatriación de españoles en Polonia o en la entrega de ayuda humanitaria y armamentos al ejército ucraniano.
Lo que sí conocemos es el imparable y desenfrenado incremento del gasto militar comprometido por el gobierno de Sánchez-Díaz y sus acólitos. Un gasto que, en guerra o en paz, siempre encuentra excusas (lo cierto es que poco fundamentadas) para seguir creciendo y creciendo.
Esta vez el gasto comprometido tiene tres características fundamentales a añadir a las de siempre:
a) Que es en gran parte plurianual, es decir, que no sólo comprometen gasto para ejecutar en este año, sino que ya compromete presupuesto militar para el futuro (553,23 millones para ejecutar en 2023 y 2024), una bonita manera de afianzar la apuesta militarista made in Spain.
b) Que vuelve a tirar del fondo de contingencia para, a tres meses de la aprobación de los presupuestos de 2022, aumentar el gasto de este año mediante el truco (censurado por el Tribunal de Cuentas) de acudir al Fondo de Contingencia para para aumentar el gasto militar por encima del previsto.
En esta ocasión, el Fondo de Contingencia abonará nada menos que 569,85 millones de euros para las operaciones de injerencia militar en el Exterior.
Un gasto que excede en más del doble el presupuestado por Exteriores (que paga un pellizco importante de este tipo de gasto) como por Defensa.
c) Que una gran cantidad del gasto militar que se aumenta respecto del presupuestado no se paga con cargo a Defensa, sino a Hacienda, a Industria, a Exteriores o a Transición Ecológica (este último viene adquiriendo un soterrado protagonismo en el militarismo patrio, quién lo iba a decir).
La cifra total de gasto comprometido es espeluznante, nada nuevo en el espeluznante gasto militar español. En total, 1.523,61 millones de euros más de lo previsto.
Un aumento de casi el 10 por ciento en menos de dos meses
De esta cifra, el año 2022 supone ya un aumento de 971,98 euros respecto del presupuesto reconocido por el Ministerio de Defensa (un 13% por encima de lo presupuestado si tenemos en cuenta el presupuesto de defensa sin los Programas Especiales de Armamentos o del 9,2% si contamos el presupuesto con dichos programas).
