A thing of the past: Afghan refugees on board a plane to the UK
News has emerged today that the UK government has not accepted a single refugee under the Afghan Resettlement Scheme in the past twelve months.
The scheme is meant to help Afghans and their familes who assisted western forces during the Afghan conflict.
Yet the complete absence of successful applications stands in stark contrast to the eagerness of the UK government to make room for and fund Ukrainian refugees.
Critics have accused the government of treating refugees differently depending on their skin tone and religion.
