Women protesting once more in Kiev, are demanding news or the bodies of their missing relatives, likely dead on the front line. For propaganda reason, the authorities are hiding that the military losses are huge. Moreover, no pension is paid for a missing service member
We don’t know how many soldiers, mercenaries and civilians have been killed so far in the Ukraine war since Russia intervened. Everyone is keeping their casualties secret, even from families of the dead, while blatantly inventing death numbers of the opposition.
In Ukraine opposition parties and media are closed down and the military is more and more dominated by fascists and their mentality. In Russia revealing death numbers is a criminal offence. In the West propaganda reigns and no reporter dares risk their job telling the truth.
Russia is afraid of provoking an big internal rebellion against the war, and therefore careful to address complaints, reorganise the recent call-up chaos, and largely avoid sending drafted youth to the front lines.
To keep casualties down Russia’s war is mainly artillery, bombing and drone attacks, avoiding direct battles and instead simply retreating, as in Kyiv, Kharkov and Jherson. Direct taking back of cities is also done very slowly, to avoid mass casualties, as in Mariupol and Bakhmut.
Ukraine is suffering a terrible military massacre, with the advanced Russian war machine endlessly pounding its front line, military bases, camps, etc.
Observers have claimed the ‘meat grinder‘ offensive in Bakhmut has killed tens of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers who were poured in, despite warnings from their western sponsors, while Russia kills them with artillery and airstrikes, and takes over 6 months to take back the town.
In mid-June 2022, Davyd Arakhamia, Ukraine’s chief negotiator with Russia, told Axios that between 200 and 500 Ukrainian soldiers were killed every day.[Wiki 107] . If that is true the death toll is horrific.
So it’s logical to guess that between 100,000 and 150,000 Ukrainian military and their mercenaries may have already died, against maybe 30,000 to 50,000 Russians.
