A total of 345 children under the age of 6 are accompanying their mothers in Turkish prisons, and they receive the same treatment as inmates, the Stockholm Center for Freedom reported, citing Deutsche Welle Turkish service’s report on a study by the Right to Life Association.
According to the study children are traumatized by strip-searches. They are not well fed and don’t receive sufficient medical care. They also have difficulty getting time to play.
Human Rights Foundation of Turkey (TİHV) Secretary-General Coşkun Üsterci said the courts need to take into account the economic and social conditions of mothers with children under 6. “Even at times when imprisonment is absolutely necessary, female inmates with children should be in prisons with special and better conditions where the children can be raised well,” he added.
“We don’t even know if children are allowed to see daylight,” Ceren Kalay of the Ankara Bar Association said. “The children can be protected by putting their mothers under house arrest.”
The number of children accompanying their mothers in prison skyrocketed in Turkey in the aftermath of a coup attempt in July 2016. According to a statement from Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu on February 20, a total of 622,646 people have been the subject of investigation and 301,932 have
been detained, while 96,000 others have been jailed due to alleged links to the Gülen movement, accused by the Turkish government of orchestrating the coup attempt. The minister said there are currently 25,467 people in Turkey’s prisons who were jailed on alleged links to the movement.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has been targeting followers of the Gülen movement, a faith-based group inspired by Turkish cleric Fethullah Gülen, since the corruption investigations of December 17-25, 2013, which implicated then-Prime Minister Erdoğan, his family members and his inner circle.
Dismissing the investigations as a Gülenist coup and conspiracy against his government, Erdoğan designated the movement as a terrorist organization and began to target its members. He locked up thousands including many prosecutors, judges and police officers involved in the investigation as well as journalists who reported on them.
Erdoğan intensified the crackdown on the movement following a coup attempt on July 15, 2016 that he accused Gülen of masterminding. Gülen and the movement strongly deny involvement in the abortive putsch or any terrorist activity.

But it’s financed by Qatar, which is largely controlled by Turkish blackmail. It’s no secret that Qatar ‘gifted’ $18 billion to Erdogan in 2018, hosts a huge and expanding Turkish military base, and got Turkish aid in its dispute with the Saudis.

Originally from Germany, the anarchist thinker Rudolf Rocker spent much of his life in exile in some of the world’s major cities – Paris, London, New York – where he always gravitated towards immigrants involved in radical politics, most notably the Jewish anarchist community in London at the turn of the 20th century.
Often referred to as a rabbi by members of this community as a sign of appreciation, the epithet of an ‘anarchist rabbi’ is the title of a book about Rocker’s life and thought, as well as a documentary about his time in London.
Though this story is rarely told today, Rocker’s time in London is worth revisiting, at the very least to recover him as an important political and intellectual figure.
Quite the theoretician-and-practitioner anarchist, Rocker left a large bibliography behind, including three volumes of memoirs, only a small part of which have been published in English.
Published in the 1950s as The London Years, his memoirs give a rich account of how a German Catholic became a leading figure in London’s Yiddish-speaking Jewish anarchist movement.

Southwest Airlines CEO Gary Kelly is committingmassive fraudagainst his own pilots, falsely claiming there is a, “federal government COVID-19 vaccination directive” that forces him to demand vaccines for all his pilots.This is utterly false. No such mandate exists for private sector employees. OSHA hasn’t published any such rule. Kelly is simply bluffing along with Joe Biden,pretendingthere is a federal mandate that he knows isn’t law.
Not surprisingly, many of his company’s pilots are far smarter than Kelly seems to realize…
If Christopher Columbus were alive today, he would be tried for his monstrous crimes against humanity.
Columbus’s Reign of Terror is one of the darkest chapters in human history. Amazingly, Columbus oversaw the sale of native girls for sexual slavery. Girls from 9 to 10 years old were the most desired by their men. In 1500, Columbus wrote about it in his diary.
He said: “.. there are many traffickers looking for girls; nine to ten year olds are now in demand. “
Columbus forced these peaceful natives to work in his gold mines until they died of exhaustion. If an “Indian” worker did not deliver his entire quota of gold dust before the deadline given by Columbus, the soldiers cut off his hands and tied them around his neck to send a message.
Slavery was so intolerable to these sweet and gentle people that at one point a hundred of them committed suicide en masse. Catholic law prohibited the slavery of Christians, but Columbus solved this problem. He simply refused to baptize the natives of Hispaniola.
On his second trip to the New World, Columbus brought cannons and attack dogs. If a native resisted slavery, he would cut off a nose or an ear. If the slaves tried to escape, Columbus burned them alive. Other times, he would send attack dogs to hunt them down, and the dogs ripped off the arms and legs of the natives who screamed to death.
If the Spanish ran out of meat to feed the dogs, the Arawak babies were killed to feed them.
Columbus’s acts of cruelty were so unspeakable and so legendary – even in his day – that Governor Francisco De Bobadilla arrested Columbus and his two brothers, bound them in chains, and sent them to Spain to answer for their crimes against the Arawaks.
But the king and queen of Spain, with their treasury full of gold, forgave Columbus and released him.
One of Columbus’s men, Bartolomé De Las Casas, was so mortified by Columbus’s brutal atrocities against the natives that he stopped working for him and became a Catholic priest. He described how the Spaniards under Columbus cut the legs of children fleeing from them to test the sharpness of their blades.
According to De Las Casas, men made bets on who, with a single stroke of his sword, could cut a person in half. He says that Columbus’s men poured boiling soap on rebellious natives.
In a single day, De Las Casas was an eyewitness when Spanish soldiers dismembered, beheaded and / or raped 3,000 natives. “Such inhumanities and barbarities were committed in my sight and were without parallel at any time,” wrote De Las Casas. “My eyes have seen these acts so strange to human nature that now I tremble as I write.”
De Las Casas spent the rest of his life trying to protect the defenseless natives. But after a while, there were no natives left to protect. Experts generally agree that prior to 1492, the population of the island of Hispaniola probably exceeded 3 million.
Within 20 years of the arrival of the Spanish, it was reduced to only 60,000.
In 50 years, not a single original native inhabitant could be found.
In 1516, the Spanish historian Pedro Mártir wrote: “A ship without a compass, chart or guide, but only by tracking the dead Indians who had been thrown from the ships could find their way from the Bahamas to Hispaniola.”
Christopher Columbus earned most of his income from slavery, De Las Casas observed. In fact, Columbus was the first slave trader in the Americas. When the native slaves became extinct, they were replaced by black slaves.
Columbus’s son became the first African slave trader in 1505.

In short, the retouched official story was written and told by Creoles who believe they are of Spanish royal lineage, leaving many macabre passages such as those described above on file.
On the other hand, the most recent statistics tell that Columbus, Cortéz, Pizarro and other bloodthirsty protagonists of the conquest and the colony, tortured and murdered more than 60 million of our aboriginal ancestors.
This is what our leaders have led us to celebrate, commemorate, honor.. honor for centuries.
