Here is a reminder of the legal situation after the resistance to the eviction of the -Palaciu de Ronzón- occupied rural anarchist social center last year.


Two ‘compas’ faced a trial and were sentenced for charges of resistance and injuries to an Agent of the Authority (referring to the lumbago that we understand the agent in question already suffered).

Spanish rapper Pablo Hasel -who barricaded himself inside the University of Lleida, defying a court order for his arrest- was finally kidnapped by Catalan police on 16th February 2021 and jailed on a nine-month sentence for “insulting the Spanish monarchy, insulting the Spanish army and police forces, and praising terrorism and banned groups” both in his statements on social media and the lyrics of his songs.

Almost two hours after officers from the Catalan police force went in early on Tuesday, Hasel was led away shouting “they will never silence us; death to the fascist state”.
Dozens of supporters had earlier built a barricade at the university in Lérida (Lleida in Catalan), 150km (90 miles) west of Barcelona. Pictures from the scene showed activists spraying fire extinguishers at police before he was arrested in the university rector’s building.

Torres Strait 8: Australian Islanders in landmark climate fight

A group of indigenous islanders from Australia’s Torres Strait has launched a world-first legal battle in a bid to protect their homes.

Yessie Mosby fears he may be forced to leave the coral cay where his ancestors have lived for thousands of years.

They argue Australia has breached their rights to culture and life by failing to adequately address climate change.

The low-lying islands, located on the northern tip of Australia, have seen rising sea levels, coastal erosion and flooding in recent years.

It’s the first time a claim of this kind has been taken to the UN Human Rights Committee.

note: Norway has a low rate of Covid infections and deaths, recently just a few every day. The Euro statistics site EudraVigilance gives no breakdown of vaccine reaction deaths by country , but the total deaths due to vaccine reactions added up to 5,915 in the EU, up to April 2nd 2021, and increased by 1,951 since the March 13 figures (about 93 a day) . We might therefore estimate that in some other EU countries or regions, (especially those in which, like Norway, most old people have already been vaccinated), ”deaths from the vaccine may be more than those estimated for Covid itself”, at least in the same time frames.

Women in Turkey suffer from gender discrimination between them and men in terms of employment and study in universities, and the violence they are subjected to without a law protecting them, not to mention the ban on the veil that was imposed on them years ago, which caused a women’s revolution in the country at the time.
