Zapatistas join the Dots… Europe Tour from Below and to the Left… Eng / Esp

by Raul Zibechi via Chiapas Support Committee Spanish from Naiz

If there is one thing that Zapatismo cannot be accused of, it is not being coherent. A long time ago they designed a policy of alliance between those below, which they will now deploy during the tour that will begin in June in European lands.

Somehow it’s like on the one hand you have the podiums, the social networks and the “masses” all piled up; on the other, the articulation of collectives, which embody the most diverse oppressions around the world.

The Second Declaration of The Reality for Humanity against Neoliberalism, issued in August 1996, says this clearly and transparently: «That we will make a collective network of all our struggles and particular resistances. An intercontinental network of resistance against neoliberalism, an intercontinental network of resistance for humanity.

The objective of this network is to meet other resistances in the world, to support each other. And they clarify that the network “is not an organizational structure, it does not have a governing or decision-making center, it has no central command or hierarchies. The network is all of us who resist ».

Amazon Rainforest was sold! Understand the full story + Act for Amazon

350.org/about Resources Get Involved *Language

In December 2020, Brazil had an auction, and Amazon lands were sold to the fossil fuel industry. Learn more about it and see how you can engage with us.

Deforestation and other threats faced by indigenous peoples in the Amazon region have increased dramatically in recent years. In all likelihood, those will increase even further due to the lack of regulation and the licensing of land for oil extraction and mining in territories held to be sacred.

350.org has been working to defend Amazon since 2015. That same year, we won a ban on oil and shale gas extraction in the Juruá Valley. At that point, Petrobrás could not carry out any activity related to the extraction, including flyovers or research.

Solidarity with Rebellion Following Police Killing of Daunte Wright Grow Despite Curfew, National Guard

Filed under: Action, Featured, Police, Repression, White Supremacy by It’s Going Down

A rebellion kicked off in the Minneapolis suburb of Brooklyn Center on Sunday, April 11th, after a police officer shot and killed Daunte Wright, a 20 year old African-American during a traffic stop.

Wright’s mother reported that he had called her during the stop, stating that he was being pulled over because his air-freshener supposedly was obstructing his rear-view mirror.

Police then attempted to arrest Wright on an active warrant, supposedly because he had failed to appear on a recent court issued Zoom call in relation to unpaid charges of only a few hundred dollars.

Local residents and friends and family of Daunte quickly converged on the area where he was killed, smashing police cruisers left in the streets as riot police assembled and shot pepper-balls into the crowd.

Hundreds then rallied in protest outside of the police department, only to be met with a volley of projectiles and “non-lethal” weapons.

Dozens sue Monsanto/ Bayer Tries to Reassure Investors /Deadly Roundup ‘surfactants exposed

By Carey Gillam via stuartbramhall shared with thanks

Bayer says it is bringing closure to the costly Roundup litigation through settlement deals totaling more than $11 billion, but new Roundup weedkiller cases are still being filed.  Ken Moll is girding for battle.

Moll, a Chicago-based personal injury attorney, has dozens of lawsuits pending against the former Monsanto Co., all alleging the company’s Roundup weed killers cause non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and he is now preparing several of those cases for trial.

Moll’s firm is one of a handful that have refused settlement offers made by Monsanto owner Bayer AG, deciding instead to take the fight over the safety of Monsanto’s glyphosate-based herbicide products back into courtrooms around the country.

Lawsuits allege Roundup weed killers cause non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Though Bayer has assured investors it is bringing closure to the costly Roundup litigation through settlement deals totaling more than $11 billion, new Roundup cases are still being filed, and notably several are positioned for trial, with the earliest set to start in July.

“We’re going forward,” Moll said. “We’re doing this.”

He tried to save a rare parrot. It cost him his life.

A report by Megan Janetsky and Anthony Faiola

disclaimer.. the main text here is from The Washington Post. It implies Gonzo’s murder was either by left FARC dissidents or ‘armed groups’. In fact the thousands of murders are nearly totally by rightwing mercenaries of the ruling settler elite with impunity of Duque’s neo fascist regime. Murderers and torturers supported and incited by the USA for the last 70 years. Many of the victims are ex- FARC community activists who disarmed with the ”peace Accords”

On a January morning in the foothills of the Andes, gave his daughter a goodbye hug, jumped on his 2015 Yamaha motorcycle and set off for the habitat of the elusive yellow-eared parrot.

Cardona had spent two decades nurturing the rare bird, a species once thought extinct. Now, they numbered in the thousands, and he was their protector — the overseer of the wild preserve in this South American nation where they thrived anew. A preserve that happens to abut one of Colombia’s most notorious drug routes.

“God willing, I will be coming back to you soon,” the 55-year-old told his daughter.

Three days later, a search party found his body in a shallow grave with two bullets in his chest. His slaying was the latest in a deadly wave of killings of environmentalists in Colombia, a nation where they are fast becoming almost as endangered as the species they strive to protect.

Intelligence Report on “Extremism” Equates Anarchists With Right-Wing Militias

Apr 11 2021 8 comments By thecollective From Truthout by Kristian Williams

Mainstream Democrats are in a hawkish mood when it comes to “domestic terrorism.” That is bad news for the left.

Immediately upon taking office, President Biden “tasked the director of national intelligence, in coordination with the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security, with compiling a comprehensive threat assessment on violent domestic extremism,“ according to The Washington Post. This request was prompted by the right-wing attack on the Capitol on January 6.

The resulting report, “Domestic Violent Extremism Poses Heightened Threat in 2021,” was submitted on March 1, and its executive summary was released publicly a few days later. While its list of findings include some obvious observations — for example, that extremists are “motivated by a range of ideologies” and use the internet “to recruit, plan and rally support for in-person actions” — the final page of the executive summary, listing “Categories of Domestic Violent Extremists,” reveals a concerning typology.

thefreeonline's avatarKanPasqual

FRAGUAS és un projecte d’okupació rural i repoblació ubicat a Guadalajara que porta des de 2013 en situació d’assetjament i de processos judicials. L’any passat vam poder estar-hi uns dies i vam poder observar un grup de gent convençuda, lluitant i defensant una forma de vida autogestionada i al marge del sistema capitalista.

ARA ESTAN EN PERILL DE DESALLOTJAMENT i necessiten ajuda. És per això que hem obert una caixa de resistència per solidaritzar-nos en la mesura del possible.

Us passem també el seu comunicat i el n° de compte on podeu fer la vostra aportació.
LA SOLIDARITAT ÉS FORÇA!!!.
