Italy: Anarchist Prisoners Announce Food Strike in Solidarity. Oct 19 – Nov 1 .. Eng/Esp/Ita/Fr

in English / Español / Italiano / Français see below..

During the Coronavirus emergency and the uprisings, the State has buried us prisoners even more in coffins of concrete and bars, treating us like rats in a sinking ship and completely isolating us from the world by cutting off all the few bridges that connected us with the outside world.

FROM THE PRISON OF TERNI: PROTEST IN SOLIDARITY WITH THE ANARCHISTS BEPPE AND DAVIDE

Start of a 2-week prison-food strike, from October 19th to November 1st.

Enough 14 -- Its time to revolt! - -#Italy: Letter of Beppe from #Pavia prison, July 4th, 2020

Enough 14 — Its time to revolt! – -#Italy: Letter of Beppe from #Pavia prison, July 4th, 2020

We are witnessing a multiple attack on multiple fronts by the State on the practices of solidarity:

Those who express their solidarity with prisoners in struggle are being attacked.

Those who in prison respond to the provocations of the guards and those who receive solidarity for the struggles undertaken are attacked.

Those who have participated in the riots and the protests in the prisons in the recent months are attacked: those riots that in Italy have registered 14 deaths among the prisoners, with reprisals ranging from beatings and disciplinary sanctions to trials with accusations, in some cases, even of destruction and looting.

/ Anarchosyndicalist initiative in Pakistan

English

The Workers Solidarity Initiative (WSI) is a young group from Pakistan, which seeks to spread the principles, tactics and aims of anarchosyndicalism among the workers of this country.

They develop their activity under difficult conditions, political violence in Pakistan being daily, whether ethno-nationalist (especially against the Baluch, Pashtun and other minorities) or Islamist , not to mention the omnipresence of the army and the endemic corruption that plagues the country. Apostates and other “blasphemers” (real or supposed) are regularly condemned to death by official justice, when it is not the Islamists who are responsible for carrying out the sentence …

Bajar Gratis o Leer AQUÍ pdf.. epub.. etc.

The literature of Ursula K. Le Guin and anarchism

Ursula K. Le Guin, born in 1929, was undoubtedly a great writer, not only with prestige and success in the literary world, but also in the political, social and scientific fields; For those unaware, her work is clearly and almost insultingly influencing contemporary literature and cinema, usually with much lighter and lowered political and scientific works.

Le Guin’s work is composed of both science fiction, as is the case of the so-called Ekumen cycle (to which the novel ‘The Dispossessed’ belongs, which we will deal with later), as well as a fantasy genre. as an example his saga of the ‘Histories of Earthsea’.

It is precisely the Association of Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers, United States, which has recognized her as a great teacher. Le Guin’s sympathies with anarchist ideas are known, which he has defined as the most humane, complex and interesting of all political theories.

For example, the novel ‘The Day Before the Revolution’, which belongs to the same universe as The Dispossessed, is dedicated to the essential American intellectual and anarchist Paul Goodman.

Similarly, the influence that Murray Bookchin and her radical environmentalism has had on the writer is obvious. In much of her voluminous work, Le Guin has embodied her libertarian ideas of equality, cooperation, mutual support, and rejection of abuses of power.

Plant a Tree or Protect a Plot? Forests usually Regrow much Better just Leaving Protected land Alone.

By Fred Pearce • September 24, 2020

Natural Debate: Do Forests Grow Better With Our Help or Without?

Nations around the world are pledging to plant billions of trees to grow new forests. But a new study shows that the potential for natural forest regrowth to absorb carbon from the atmosphere and fight climate change is far greater than has previously been estimated.

When Susan Cook-Patton was doing a post-doc in forest restoration at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center in Maryland seven years ago, she says she helped plant 20,000 trees along Chesapeake Bay. It was a salutary lesson. “The ones that grew best were mostly ones we didn’t plant,” she remembers. “They just grew naturally on the ground we had set aside for planting. Lots popped up all around. It was a good reminder that nature knows what it is doing.”

What is true for Chesapeake Bay is probably true in many other places, says Cook-Patton, now at The Nature Conservancy. Sometimes, we just need to give nature room to grow back naturally. Her conclusion follows a new global study that finds the potential for natural forest regrowth to absorb atmospheric carbon and fight climate change has been seriously underestimated.

Tree planting is all the rage right now. This year’s World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, called for the world to plant a trillion trees. In one of its few actions to address climate concerns, the U.S. administration — with support from businesses and nonprofits such as American Forests — last month promised to contribute close to a billion of them — 855 million, to be precise — across an estimated 2.8 million acres.

Raqqa Reborn via Rojava Revolution: Criticism and proposals from Citizens Consultation

We would like to post more information from its inhabitants on the amazing transformation of Raqqa and the inspiring story of the SDF, as a template for horizontally organized revolution in the authoritarian regimes of the Middle East and beyond.

On the Internet you get 1000’s of posts on Trump, but never anything about the amazing Revolution still ongoing in Nth East Syria, , despite being blockaded and surrounded by hostile neighbours.

Raqqa, for example, has risen from the rubble after being the ISIS Capital, after being carpet bombed by the US led Coalition, and being liberated in a heroic street by street war by the Kurdish led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the multi ethnic and gender federation of militias of the Rojava Revolution.

Raqqa is not a Kurdish city, it’s multi ethnic, mainly Arab. After liberation Raqqa Military and Civil Councils were immediately formed, following the successful model in Manbij, with representation from women and all races and religions. 480,ooo citizens returned to their homes, often in ruins, and intensive rebuilding began , with some help from NGO’s and reluctantly from the Coalition. (The SDF retained some power, devolved in its Arabic sections and the Military Council, in a model they try to replicate in Deir Es Zor).

We would like to post more information from its inhabitants on the amazing transformation of Raqqa and the inspiring story of the SDF, as a template for horizontally organised revolution in the authoritarian regimes of the Middle East and beyond.

Raqqa Criticism and proposals from Syrian Democratic Council consultation,

shared with thanks from Rojava Information Center, Focus, News, Translations

Key stakeholders including opposition politicans and tribal leaders were invited, as well as members of the general public

The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) has launched a series of consultations across North and East Syria. Rojava Information Center (RIC) researchers recently attended one such public consultation in Raqqa, summarized below, following on from another meeting in Heseke (you can read a summary of the Heseke discussion here.)

Rojava Information Center

The meetings are taking place in all seven of the constituent regions of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES). Along with ordinary civilians then Kurdish and Arabic opposition groups, Arab tribal representatives, minority religious and ethnic groups, women and youth organizations have all been invited to share their perspectives, feedback, criticism and proposals on the political processes underway in the region, and on the internal policies of the AANES.
