-‘ I’m 13, I hardly shave, and pus squirts out my spots…’-
–‘Hello Tessa this is Pardy.. Hello Tessa.. Are you awake at all’-
Tessa was awake all right, had slept really short and really badly. Oh so romantic, under the stars with Paco, who was already asleep before he even lay down, leaving her to battle with tiger mosquitoes, inside the useless net! Continue reading “Serial of The Free Ch 39. Adventure Way”
A note from the web-publisher: I put this up to make ecodefence information available to more people in these times of social/ecological crisis. The book is too expensive, hard to find, and there are obvious security risks to buying it through the mail from outfits like amazon.com.
One of the few-and-far-between perks of being a climate blogger is that occasionally I get access to books and movies before the general public does.
This past weekend I got to watch “Greedy Lying Bastards” before it hit movie screens across the U.S. on Monday. Sunday night I, along with some fellow Citizens Climate Lobby volunteers, got together to watch this 90 minute documentary.
This movie exposes the American fossil fuel interests that have been blocking action on climate change for decades, taking a page – and some of the same PR firms and lobbyists – right out of the tobacco companies’ playbook.
Divestment fever spreads to Canada as students, doctors launch campaign against fossil-fuel holdings
Calls in the United States for universities to divest their fossil-fuel holdings are starting to spread into Canada, where students and doctors are beginning to speak out.
Students from across the country are taking part Wednesday in what’s being called Fossil Fools Day, described as the first national day of action for the Fossil Free Canada campaign, an initiative being led by the Canadian Youth Climate Coalition.

Getting to the root of the problem in Madagascar
February 26th, 2013 by Daniel Reeds
When Daniel Reeds visited Madagascar he was struck by the beauty of its ecosystems and people, but also by the appalling poverty. However, he found inspiration from a pioneering charity that works with humans and wildlife, to ensure a sustainable future for both.
Madagascar is one of the world’s top biodiversity hotspots, with approximately 4% of the Earth’s plant and animal species living there – within just 0.4% of the planet’s surface. Many species have yet to be named or even discovered. However, it is also one of the most impoverished and least developed countries in the world, ranking 151st out of 187 in the UNDP 2011 Human Development Index.

There was a bit of buzz last week when the august scientific journal Natureendorsed the Keystone XL pipeline (ironically, in the course of pleading with Obama to do
