Ex Texaco guru relegates CO2-free NH3

Geoffrey Styles, who was a director in Texaco for 22 years, is now a guru blogger promoting CO2 producing fuels. We don’t  know what financial investments he has in it but his arguments are clever, insidious, and if that doesn’t wash, just wrong

”His industry experience includes 22 years at Texaco Inc., culminating in a senior position on Texaco’s leadership team for strategy development, focused on the global refining, marketing, transportation and alternative energy businesses, and global issues such as climate change.”

How can you ask someone who has lived 22 years in Texaco Inc.  be qualified to comment on Ammonia Fuel? Having witnessed the crimes against humanuity committed over a generation by Texaco in Ecuador, and now recognized by international courts I find it impossible to accept arguments from that source, especially as I have uncovered evidence (not directly related to Geoffrey Styles) of systematic suppression of NH3 fuel technology by the Oil Corporations during half a century. One of the main thrusts of the relegation of NH3 has certainly been the financing of just such apparently scientific argument as we witness above.

You can read Geoffrey’s ANTI AMMONIA article HERE     http://theenergycollective.com/comment/reply/46324

And here are some of the replies…

Casey Stack said:

There are several inaccurate, misleading or significantly biased comments in Geoffrey Styles article which make NH3 appear less practicable than is the reality. Simply put:

In order of appearance above

– Energy Density.  wrong

The reason more than one international automotive manufacturer is currently pursuing NH3 is due to the fact that it is more practical for energy storage than CNG.  According to an automotive manufacturer this year, the reason broad CNG auto manufacturing has not caught on in 30 years is the energy density issue. More on the later.

– Dual Fuel Requirements. wrong

The first trans US demonstration of an NH3 fueled vehicle in 2007 did operate on a dual fuel scheme. However, today, a patented breakthrough technology, ” the flame cracker” completely solves the need for carrying dual fuels in a unit is tiny, starts instantly, self sufficient, is very low cost to manufacture..making automotive use completely practical.

– Energy Cost and GGE. wrong

Today the cost of NH3 varies dramatically based on location.  Depending on location, actual price may be only 33% to 50% of that stated above. This was also true in the early days of gasoline distribution.

Also, the cost per mile assumptions are incorrect.  Because NH3 has an octane rating 50% higher than that of gasoline, much higher engine efficiencies are attained.  This equates to as much as a 60% increase in mileage for the same total energy input. This is a great thing for everyone, and makes the fuel even cheaper.

During our cross country drive powered by NH3 in 2007, www.nh3car.com, NH3 was $425/ton and gasoline was $2.25. This was break even pricing.. today, gas is $3.00.  And energy per mile is going down with purpose-built NH3 engines as discussed immediately above.

– Pressure of Storage. wrong

I’m very surprised this issue is raised here. It’s as simple as this:

CNG = 3,500 PSI tank (with the associated weight, strength and cost of a tank rated for 3,500PSI)

NH3 = 150 PSI. This is a thin lightweight low cost tank, which improves gas mileage by reducing significant weight.

– Safety.. wrong

The hazards from gasoline outweigh the hazards from NH3 any way you look at it. There is 100 years of scientific and medical data to back this up. There is no contest.  This has been sliced, resliced, studied and confirmed by the major medical and industrial safety companies which rate risk for the petroleum industries and governments time and again.  Thousands of people are maimed or killed in the US every year by gasoline accidents.. doesn’t happen with NH3.

350,000 Somali refugees in Dadaab

Somali refugees arrive in Dadaab
Hundreds of thousands of refugees are fleeing lands in Somalia due to severe drought and arriving in what has become the world’s largest refugee camp. The Dadaab refugee camp, just over the border in Kenya, was initially setup to host some 90,000 refugees fleeing Somalia’s ongoing civil war in March, 2009. Today, the number of refugees is estimated at over 350,000 with thousands more expected in the coming weeks. UN refugee agency chief Antonion Guterres called the plight of Somali refugees “the worst humanitarian tragedy” in the world today.

Murdoch loses $450m, fails to control Internet news

Rupert Murdoch lost nearly his entire investment in MySpace the other day when he sold the failing social network to musician and actor Justin Timberlake and an ad agency he backs for some US$30 million. This was a good deal less than the US$500 million-plus Murdoch paid for it.

Why did Murdoch make such a bad investment? Because he hoped to use the network as a vehicle from which he could disseminate news. He wanted to make MySpace into a mechanism to deliver current-events content. When it didn’t work out – and he must have known that fairly soon – he obviously lost interest. And as his interest waned, so did MySpace.

This speaks to Murdoch’s desperation – and mainstream media’s generally. In a digital world, he is willing to burn US$500 million simply to confirm that a social network is not a news delivery system. I could have told him that for a much lower fee.

This also shows us the importance of news to the powers-that-be. The Anglosphere elites – for whom Murdoch evidently and obviously works – are determined (thus far without much success) to find a way to protect their failing information franchise.

Nothing in the past 300 years or so, while the elites have advanced their one-world-order, has been so devastating to their plans as the Internet and the rise of the alternative media driven Internet Reformation. It has poisoned the chalice and befouled the well; it has unbalanced the clarity of the concoction and clouded it with truth. A bitter brew … for them!

Western power elites will do ANYTHING to reclaim their news franchise. When one looks at 20th century media development one is struck by its massive size and strategic composition. Every part of Western 20th century media worked seamlessly together. The whole idea was to create an increasingly militarized society that would accept global government as part of the natural order of things..

CO2-free fuel exists NOW (NH3) (new Farcebook page)

I`ve made a Farcebook page to promote NH3 fuel click here

This sounds like a scam or a hoax. It’s not, I’m just an old climate activist and writer, not a business.

I couldn’t believe it myself, how come I never knew?..

After all the hot air and ballyhoo.. CO2-free fuel has existed all along. Has existed plus its cheaper to make than petrol, from air and water plus a power source and some catalysts. check on Wikipedia. It’s impossible but it`s true. (needs link)

The power source to make it nowadays is Natural Gas,(emits CO2 etc) but making NH3 is easier from renewables. For years all Europe’s NH3 fertilizer needs came from renewable energy.( needs link)

Cars have long ago been converted and driven across America, plus lorries, tractors locomotives and even a NASA Jet. NH3 fuel has existed for a century, buses ran on it in the 40s!! (needs link)

Plus now there’s a new way to make it, cheaper and less energy, called SSAS.
(If the oil companies don’t `bury` the patents as we suspect they did with the new solar panels) (needs link)

Safety.. Ammonia is dangerous, but MUCH less than petroleum, with a fraction of relative accidents. Its low pressure and can`t explode. Only burns at a precise temperature. Evaporates upwards fast, etc. It IS also dangerous for aquatic fauna.

One more thing, I understand that using NH3 correctly produces also no NOx. an IMPORTANT DETAIL since 100s of 1000s die yearly from respiratory diseases critically worsened by vehicle exhausts. (needs link and research)

The oil and vehicle Corporations know this full well but take no responsibility for all these horrible deaths, nor for the environmental mayhem or the millions already suffering from climate change, or all the unique species now faced with extinction. On the contrary they claim tax breaks and handouts on top of their mega profits. (link needed here)

But its not just the corporations. NOBODY is interested in NH3, (Green Gas, Hydrofuel, Ammonia). Nobody has even replied to my blogposts about it though I have it on Google 6 times. It seems like we need a critical mass also for common sense ideas to be accepted!

The aim of this page is to publicize NH3 CO2-free fuel, and specifically to alert the 1000s of climate, ecology, renewable, Save the Planet type folks and organizations and appeal to them to publicize this option IN ANY WAY possible.

All existing combustion engines should be converted to run on NH3 immediately to avoid the danger of irreversible runaway climate change in our thin and fragile atmosphere.

Ignore this like everybody else.. to hell with the planet..  or PLEASE HELP NOW

People fight back again in Syntagma square

#648 | …and this is how the people fight back: Syntagma square flooded with demonstrators once again, after two days of unrecedented police violence in Athens

The waves after waves of police violence during the General Strike of June 28-29 (full coverage) deterred no-one. Once again, thousands took to the streets and gathered in Syntagma to protest against the memorandum, the troika, the government but also, this time, the police.

The change in the atmosphere was quite stunning, with anti-police slogans chanting through the air. The rage of the previous days was there, but the fear was gone. Tonight’s assembly was one of the largest Syntagma has seen.

    Beautiful!

Today we had a mass strike in Britain too. And it was much bigger, and better supported, than anybody had expected.

From this we are hoping to move to a general strike in October.

Record Climate change fires close ‘MAD’ H Bomb Base

Doug Tucker, Los Alamos fire chief: “We’re doing our best to keep it off the lab”

One of the top nuclear weapons research facilities in the US will remain closed until Thursday as fire fighters battle a wildfire raging at its boundary.Only “essential-duties” staff at Los Alamos National Laboratory will be permitted on site on Wednesday.Officials at the New Mexico facility have said they detected “no off-site releases of contamination”.The town outside the laboratory in the state of New Mexico was evacuated on Monday as the fire raged nearby.Officials said the nuclear facilities faced “no immediate threat” but warned of damage to houses. The lab, opened during World War II, led the development of the atomic bomb.

By late Monday, the Las Conchas fire had grown to 68 sq miles (176 sq km), burning through forests, canyons, and mesas, fuelled by dry timber and powered by strong winds.Authorities warned it could triple in size in the coming days, the Albuquerque Journal reported. The fire had reached the lab’s southwestern boundary and leapt a state road onto the land, burning roughly an acre, state fire officials said.

“No facilities face immediate threat, and all nuclear and hazardous materials are accounted for and protected,” officials said in a statement.

Residents of Los Alamos, New Mexico, evacuate on Monday Officials described the evacuation of the town of Los Alamos as orderly and calm

The lab employs about 11,800 people, and about 12,000 people live in the town of Los Alamos.

“That’s the biggest threat we have right now to homes in the community,” Deputy Los Alamos County Fire Chief Mike Thompson told the Associated Press.

The southwestern US has been stricken by giant wildfires this year, with millions of acres scorched in New Mexico, Arizona and Texas.

To the west of New Mexico, the largest wildfire in the history of the state of Arizona has been burning for nearly a month.
