Change to NH3 fuel..Cheaper, safer, no CO2, no SOx, .

Recently I discovered that a CO2 -free fuel for internal combustion engines already exists and would be cheaper and less dangerous than petroleum products.
MUCH less dangerous as burning it produces no SOx, no Carbon Monoxide, very low NOx etc which worldwide
cause hundreds of thousands of extra deaths from respiratory diseases every year.
WHY then don’t we use it?? Because the oil corporations have us hooked on their products.
I was inspired to publicize the existence of  NH3 fuel in a small way with this blog and Farcebook.
Incredibly when publicized as an Event there was little interest..MORE AGAINST THAN IN FAVOUR.
People cant believe it and see me as one more internet crank. The best response so far comes from Anne J., see below,
  • i have visited your page, also followed the links that i could find, now need to research the claims before i can like or share, as i could not find a simple to understand explanation of how this technology works… as time is of the essence, doubling up my time when such a simple explanation probably already exists to enable understanding by everyday people (who do not hold chemical/mechanical engineering degrees) would see your page, and this technology, greater general public awareness.

  • thanks ANNE FOR YOUR SUGGESTION.. I didn’t realize this was an issue and will try to find such an explanation. however I fear that no matter how it is explained, nobody will listen to me, when lots of credible scientists have been ignored for so many years. One angle I thought of was appealing to people suffering respiratory illnesses linked to pollution from oil based motors.
What can I say.? The corporations and markets are lauding and rewarding a small army of influential Bloggers who ridicule scientific articles and evidence on anything that doesnt give them more short term profit, including NH3 fuel,  as well as promoting fracking and Tar Sands as another bonanza for greedy investors. NH3 fuel is a reformist proposal, (we really need a world revolution), but it could save millions of lives and be a key element in preventing catastrophic climate change. All it needs is a few thousand activists to seriously promote the idea.

Ammonia as a Fuel

Ammonia was used during World War II to power buses in Belgium, and in engine and solar energy applications prior to 1900. Liquid ammonia was used as the fuel of the rocket airplane, the X-15. Although not as powerful as other fuels, it left no soot in the reusable rocket engine and its density approximately matches the density of the oxidizer, liquid oxygen, which simplified the aircraft’s design.

Ammonia has been proposed as a practical alternative to fossil fuel for internal combustion engines.[39] The calorific value of ammonia is 22.5 MJ/kg (9690 BTU/lb) which is about half that of diesel. In a normal engine, in which the water vapour is not condensed, the calorific value of ammonia will be about 21% less than this figure. It can be used in existing engines with only minor modifications to carburettors/injectors.

To meet these demands, significant capital would be required to increase present production levels. Although the second most produced chemical, the scale of ammonia production is a small fraction of world petroleum usage. It could be manufactured from renewable energy sources, as well as coal or nuclear power. It is however significantly less efficient than batteries.[citation needed] The 60 MW Rjukan dam in Telemark, Norway produced ammonia via electrolysis of water for many years from 1913 producing fertilizer for much of Europe. If produced from coal, the CO2 can be readily sequestered [39][40] (the combustion products are nitrogen and water). In 1981 a Canadian company converted a 1981 Chevrolet Impala to operate using ammonia as fuel.[41][42]

Ammonia engines or ammonia motors, using ammonia as a working fluid, have been proposed and occasionally used.[43] The principle is similar to that used in a fireless locomotive, but with ammonia as the working fluid, instead of steam or compressed air. Ammonia engines were used experimentally in the 19th century by Goldsworthy Gurney in the UK and in streetcars in New Orleans in the USA.

By Chris Marsden 20 July 2011   The morning after Hoare’s body was found, former Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Paul Stephenson and his former deputy, John Yates, were to give evidence before a home affairs select committee. Stephenson had tendered his resignation Sunday and Yates Monday. They were to be quizzed by MPs on their failure to pursue any serious investigation into phone hacking or on the bribing of police officers. This was to be followed by the quizzing of News Corporation head Rupert Murdoch, his son James, chairman of News International, and former News of the World editor Rebekah Brooks.

The death of Hoare means that his testimony will never be heard by any such inquiry or, more importantly, by any criminal investigation that may arise.

His public statements to date—coming from within News International, News Corp’s UK arm—are highly damaging. Last year, Hoare gave interviews to the New York Times and the BBC in which he said Coulson knew about hacking that was “endemic” and part of the “culture at News International.”

A week ago, Hoare told the New York Times about journalists making payments to the police, and about the use of “pinging”—locating people via their mobile phone signals, a technology supposedly to be used only for anti-terror purposes. He alleged that News of the World executive Greg Miskiw had used such techniques. He said journalists were able to purchase the mobile phone tracking data from police for £300.

A Guardian report also notes that Hoare’s body was found at 10:40 am, but “It was not until after 9 pm, two hours after news broke that the phone hacking whistleblower had been found dead, that more uniformed and plainclothes police arrived at the scene. At about 9:15 pm, a police van marked Scientific Services Unit pulled up at the address, where a police car was already parked.”

The immediate response of the Hertfordshire police was to issue a public statement declaring his death to be “unexplained but not thought to be suspicious.” The statement is at the very least extraordinary, and at worst sinister in its implications.

The British establishment have been quick to close ranks in attacking Sean.. a mere ‘Arsenal and Labour supporter’ and ‘drunken hack’. The police persecuted him from the start, treating him as a criminal suspect. The newspaper NOWS paid him to mix with celebrity coke addicts then fired him for complaining .

 

 

Riot! austerity budget for people on $1 a day

Malawi riots erupt

Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world, with an estimated 75% of the population living on less than $1 (60p) a day.

The government recently passed an austerity budget, raising taxes to reduce dependence on aid.

The demonstrations were called to protest against rising fuel prices, a shortage of foreign exchange reserves, alleged bad governance and poor international relations.

LANTYRE (Reuters) – Riots broke out in several cities in Malawi Wednesday after police and the army tried to disperse protesters demanding the resignation of President Bingu wa Mutharika, whom they accuse of ignoring civil liberties and damaging the economy.

Last week, the UK cut direct aid to Malawi after a diplomatic spat with Mr Mutharika’s government.

The UK accused Malawi of mishandling the economy and failing to uphold human rights.

In the southern African nation’s capital, Lilongwe, witnesses said smoke was billowing into the sky as protesters burned cars, offices and shops belonging to ministers and politicians from Mutharika’s ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).

Troops were deployed on the streets of the normally sleepy commercial capital, Blantyre, and police fired teargas at marchers who had gathered outside the stock exchange in defiance of a court order.

“The earlier injunction has been withdrawn and we’re proceeding on the planned route of the demonstration but sadly we’re being smoked by teargas,” Gift Makhwawa, president of the Malawi Law Society, told Reuters.

Hoare accused Coulson, Cameron’s aide, before death

 A former News of the World journalist who blew the whistle on the extent of phone hacking was found dead Monday.

A week ago David Cameron described Andy Coulson as “a friend” and insisted he would be a “pretty unpleasant sort of person” if he turned on his former aide.

Sean Hoare, 47, who accused his former editor, Andy Coulson, of complicity in the illegal activity, was discovered dead at his home days after he made a series of fresh allegations against the paper

When the Murdochs and Rebekah Brooks go before the culture, media and sport committee, some members will be intent on asking questions about Andy Coulson, David Cameron’s former communications director, in an attempt to bring the crisis closer to the door of number 10.

Mr Hoare was found dead in his Watford home on Monday after neighbours reported him missing.

In an interview with the New York Times last September, he claimed he had played taped recordings of hacked messages to Mr Coulson when they both worked at The Sun.

When Mr Hoare moved to the NOTW he said Mr Coulson “actively encouraged” him to hack into phone messages.

In September 2010, he was also interviewed on BBC Radio 4’s PM programme and alleged that Mr Coulson had lied to Parliament when he denied knowing about phone-hacking.

Mr Coulson was the former ‘spin doctor’ of Prime minister David Cameron.

Are the police qualified to investigate his death…since they themselves are

implicated in the disgusting scandal and even their boss had to resign??

Why would Sean conveniently overdose just when he’s been proved right all along??

The best whistleblower so far from inside News International has just been found dead. Hertfordshire Police, either incredibly stupid or incredibly corrupt, have just been quoted on Sky News as saying there are “No suspicious circumstances”.

Whaether this is a convenient heart attack or a Kelly type “suicide” remains to be seen. Maybe the Met mistook him for a suicide bomber and pumped several shots into his head. With the exception of Kelly, this is possibly the most suspicious death of my lifetime. “No suspicious circumstances”. WTF!!

Sean Hoare’s testimony that Andy Coulson knew of individual phone hacking operations is pretty well certain to be true. I have written many times for national newspapers, and wherever I have written disparagingly about anybody, I have had to give my evidence. I have even, for example, been called in actually to meet the legal advisers at the Mail and discuss my evidence. The idea that journalists were not telling Coulson where they got their stories, or for what purpose they were laying out tens of thousands of pounds, is simply not practically possible. Same goes for the period when Rebekah was editor.

Sean Hoare’s testimony was plainly, absolutely true. His death discourages other whistleblowers a bit, doesn’t it? If the inquiries into News International are going to have any credibility, they are going to need a witness protection programme – from which the Met are totally excluded.

L@s trabajador@s del Hospital de Bellvitge llevamos 3 meses luchando en Defensa de la Sanidad Pública, y contra los descabellados recortes que el Gobierno de CIU está imponiendo en todo el sector. Durante 16 semanas los miércoles el personal del Hospital hemos salido en manifestación y hemos cortado la Gran Vía.

En Bellvitge se han cerrado 300 camas, han cerrado quirófanos, han dejado de hacer alrededor de 700 contratos para cubrir vacaciones, jubilaciones etc.
La dinámica del Hospital se está deteriorando desde la Dirección a marchas forzadas no respetando protocolos de infecciones intrahospitalarias ni los protocolos de confort (pacientes que están en sus últimas horas). Nos tememos una puesta en marcha de un plan de desprestigio del Hospital, para en breve (en cuanto aprueben la Ley Omnibus) tener argumento para que desde la Gestión Privada vengan a “rescatar el Hospital”.
Nos tememos que las camas que se han cerrado no se vuelvan a abrir (a las compañeras de limpieza de la empresa Clece les han hecho un ERE).
La pasada semana en el corte de Gran Vía los mossos amenazaron de que si éramos tan poca gente (300 personas) empezarían a abrir expedientes.
Necesitamos mantener las concentraciones todo el verano, puesto que los ataques se mantienen, la ofensiva por parte de la Dirección del centro y de CIU no se toman vacaciones. Además necesitamos seguir porque hay intereses varios de dejar morir las concentraciones y que cualquier día no se pueda cortar la Gran Vía por parte de l@s trabajador@s. Eso causaría un efecto muy desmoralizador.

Por todo ello hacemos un llamamiento URGENTE a tod@s l@s usuari@s de la Sanidad Pública a unirse a las concentraciones de los miércoles en el Hospital de Bellvitge, a las 13h en la puerta.

Marie Mason is a loving mother of two and a long-time activist in the environmental and labor movements.

In March 2008, she was arrested by federal authorities for charges related to two acts of property destruction that occurred in 1999 and 2000; no one was injured in either of them.

She accepted a plea bargain and was sentenced on February 5, 2009 to just under 22 years. She is now serving the longest sentence of any “Green Scare” prisoner.

The “Green Scare” is the name given to the recent arrests of animal rights and environmental activists who have been charged with acts of economic sabotage.

Federal authorities have sought outrageous sentences (often Life in prison) and have publicly and legally labeled the activists as “terrorists” – despite the fact that no one has been killed or injured in any of the acts.
