Chief Juma Xipaya denounced last Thursday night (14), in a video posted on a social network, that the Karimaa village, in the Xipaya Indigenous Land, was invaded by armed miners.
According to the leadership, a large ferry, with machinery for extracting gold, went down the Iriri River towards the territory. Her father, Francisco Kuruaya, was punched and shoved. The Xipaya territory, where about 200 people live, is 400 kilometers away from Altamira, in the southeast of the state of Pará.

It is always advisable to differentiate between what is urgent and what is important, because although both assessments can converge, on numerous occasions, what the media puts in the arena of what is urgent, is not always what is important for the social change that we promote. An example of this is the social revolution in Rojava, or the democratic confederalism of North and East Syria.
Although these days, the exodus of Syrian refugees has become visible again, in light of the flagrant difference in treatment of Ukrainian refugees who, like the previous ones, are fleeing a war they have not sought, it has not been for recognize the shame that the European fortress of capital continues to detain Syrian refugees in concentration camps in Greece and Turkey, out in the open, at the mercy of the fascist forces that burn refugee camps and without recognizing their right to asylum that they equally deserve as human beings.
And this, moreover, boasting of the enormous effort deployed to shelter those who fled the war in Ukraine, in order to blind the eyes of the working class that could turn against their governments for such hypocritical management of what is important, what is humanitarian.
Well, the Rojava Social Revolution continues from minute zero -and there have been more than 10 years of war in Syria-, welcoming the displaced Syrians who have chosen the lands of democratic confederalism as a refuge area. And this in addition to receiving the hundreds of thousands of internally displaced persons from the regions of Afrin, Serekaniye and Gire Spi, whose exodus has been caused by the Turkish NATO partner, who, at the same time, receives billions of euros for retain Syrian refugees at its borders.
Thus, Europe finances Turkey’s war in northern and eastern Syria and does business by selling it the weapons that cause the increase in refugees.
The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) also maintains several refugee camps for combatants of the defeated Islamic State and their families, which house some 80,000 people -70% minors-, as well as different detention centers of dangerous ISIS jihadists.
Despite spending years asking the international community for a solution to this situation, a serious effort to solve it has still not been made, or even considered. These camps and detention centers are a time bomb waiting to explode, as was demonstrated last January with the attempted escape of 4,000 ISIS members from al-Sinaa prison, in the city of Hasakah, managed by AANES.
And to the silenced enormous reception effort, in the midst of their self-defense and self-management, the peoples of northern and eastern Syria in resistance, defended by their self-defense brigades, continue to expose the silence of the reviled world geopolitics, continuing in their example of living revolution.
It is not easy to give an effective and supportive response from this €urope in recession, which is laconically suffering from the different capitalist attacks that continue to bleed the working class through its garbage contracts, the increases in spending on the supplies it needs to survive and the effort it makes to welcome Ukrainian refugees, while calibrating day by day how it will cover the costs of gasoline, diesel, electricity, gas, food, clothing and footwear that it needs to live .
From CGT, we continue to support and make visible the social revolution of Rojava and democratic confederalism in the north and east of Syria.
A few weeks ago, we joined the visibility campaign against the femicides of the Turkish State, specifically, to demand truth and justice in the murder of Sara, Rojbîn and Ronahî, on January 9, 2013 in Paris.
In addition to the explicit requests addressed to the French authorities, the headquarters of the Confederation displayed the banner of the campaign promoted by Women Defend Rojava Madrid to make this just demand visible.
In the same way, CGT stands in solidarity with the campaign demanding freedom for the Kurdish political prisoners, most of whom are imprisoned in the prisons of the interested Turkey and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
This campaign began on March 28 and will continue throughout the month of April. Among the cases that are made visible in the campaign is the call by Hatice Durak, to urge the Turkish administration to release her daughter, imprisoned since 2015 for interpreting Kurdish songs with political content.
According to Rojava Azadí Madrid, “the mother of Kurdish musician Nudem Durak, imprisoned since 2015, calls on all artists, musicians and officials from foreign states to urge the Turkish authorities to release her daughter, who suffers from serious health problems, such as goiter and osteolysis.
Speaking to Jin News, Hatice Durak says that the only crime Nudem Durak has committed was singing in her mother tongue, Kurdish, and singing Kurdish songs.
“That’s it. They imprisoned her only for her work », she declared. “She didn’t do anything wrong, she didn’t break any rules. She only sang, and actually not only Kurdish songs, but sometimes also Turkish ones».
Hatice points out her daughter’s deteriorating health; she suffers from goiter, a weakening of the bones due to osteolysis, and vision problems. And she adds: “They are subjected to a lot of oppression in their cells. She doesn’t want to let us know what they’re up against because of her pride, but we know it just the same.
It is enough to know that their cells are searched by the guards every day and that they are thoroughly searched each time. They put their hands in all the objects, books, notes, in what they want. She thanked the international solidarity campaign that many intellectuals, musicians, actors and politicians from various countries have supported. “I greatly appreciate and send my respectful gratitude to all the people who have called for Nudem’s freedom. I kindly ask all artists, musicians, prominent people and states to urge the Turkish government to release Nudem from jail.”
1 – On the surface, the sanctions imposed on Russia appear to be part of a new type of warfare – designed to punish innocent Russian people. Putin and his pals aren’t going to be hurt by sanctions but ordinary people will be.
Politicians and journalists complain bitterly when civilians are bombed but don’t seem to care about civilians being impoverished or starved to death.
Nor do politicians or journalists care that the sanctions were also designed to bring in a global recession that will result in billions of deaths. The sanctions brought in by leaders around the world such as Johnson and Biden have caused massive price rises for fuel and food.
The sanctions will cause most damage to the very poor in Africa and Asia. Huge numbers will die in Africa and Asia as a direct result of these sanctions which were designed by mad, bad, dangerous people. Why aren’t Biden, Johnson et al being treated as war criminals?
2 – Governments have created a perfect storm for travellers. Flights have been cancelled because of the millions of people unable to work because they have colds or think they have a disease called ‘long covid’ (which good research has shown is either malingering or hypochondria).
The cost of fuel has risen to the highest price ever known, and motorists are unable or unwilling to buy enough fuel to take them more than a few miles from home.
Even when motorists can afford to buy fuel there may not be any available because refineries have been shut by insane and woefully ignorant and selfish protestors who want to make people as miserable as they are and to bring about economic ruin.

In addition, he recounted, Russian air defense systems shot down two Ukrainian drones over the town of Afanasievka in Nikolaev province (south).
The ministry reported four helicopters shot down at the Mirgorod military airfield (two Mi-8 and two Mi-24), and two artillery weapons stores destroyed from the sea and from the air.

Yesterday President Biden annbounced another $800 million ‘for Ukraine’, a ghoulish investment aimed at fanning the flames of ear, promoting the PR Narrative (admittedly often outright lies)- By now TV news is nationalize by the ruling party, all 11 opposition parties banned and most media outlets closed down.
Throughout this war, one of the most prolific voices has been the Kyiv Independent. Through both its website and its Twitter account, it has been posting a nearly endless stream of unconfirmed and often fantastical pro-Ukrainian propaganda along with unverified, and often unattributed tales of the latest Russian atrocities.
Despite never offering even a scrap of evidence, however, it exploded from a few thousand followers before the war to several million now, with millions more following its individual reporters. It is routinely promoted by some of the biggest names in media, such as CNN and Fox News.
Let’s take a look at one tweet in particular, as an example of this. On March 30, the Kyiv Independent tweeted this:
We can see here a blending between truth and lies. While strikes would hit the warehouse, and the Red Cross would confirm that (and also, that it had been abandoned for more than two weeks by that time and all aid was distributed), no evidence was given that the strikes were Russian and the Red Cross did not comment on it.
The only source for the claim that the attacks were Russian is the Azov Battalion, putting the credibility of the statement into serious doubt. Kyiv Independent does not tell you this.
Despite this being posted with no evidence in the first place, the tweet was re-tweeted 12,000 times. How many people could this piece of literal Nazi propaganda have reached?
This outfit is well-funded and well-run. They can and do produce large amounts of good-quality English-language content very quickly. The market for this content, obviously, is not Ukrainians, but the West.
It is important to understand just how a propaganda network like this works. This blending of truth and lie is very common. The terrible realities of war mean that there is always plenty of information to report. Attacks and counterattacks. Bombs falling here. Shells there. Deaths and fires.

Much of this is probably accurate information. The sheer volume of it, combined with all the promotion, paid or otherwise, means that soon you will see Kyiv Independent reports on every screen, every day.
However, you only get one side of the issue. It is illegal to report on Ukrainian military casualties. This means that all you will see is dead Russians, burning Russian tanks and the wreckage of Russian aircraft. This creates an image of an invincible Ukrainian Army, killing Russians by the thousands with no losses of their own…………..
Meanwhile, every shell and bomb that hits a Ukrainian city is relentlessly covered. This means that the Russians are simultaneously portrayed as an omnipresent bogeyman, but also as incompetent cowards. Umberto Eco’s words about shifting rhetorical focus are relevant here.
Peppered in the endless streams of more mundane reporting, however, are the increasinglyunhinged calls for escalation. Worse yet, at some points the mask comes off entirely, such as in this bizarre article which seems to both downplay nuclear war, and cast it as an acceptable price to pay for Ukrainian victory, all while accusing Putin of being the nuclear threat.
It is clear that the editorial position of this paper is that the war should escalate, more people should die and, if necessary, Russia, and therefore the Russian people, should be annihilated with nuclear weapons. More than that, their position seems to be that we cannot afford NOT to do so.
No one would win World War III. Not even the reporters at Kyiv Independent. No one except the arms dealers. This outfit has greatly outsized reach with which to spread these ideas…….
Foreign Funding
The paper was founded in 2021 after the staff of the Kyiv Post walked out en masse after the paper came under new ownership. While it is presented as a valiant attempt to retain editorial control, the seed funding the Post received from the Canadian Government and European Endowment for Democracy (the EU equivalent of the NED) tells another tale.
Indeed, if you look more closely at the staff, a pattern of collaboration with NATO regime-change operations becomes very clear.
