Since April 13, 2023, a civil war between two factions of the Sudanese army (the official army and the Rapid Support Forces, RSF) is ravaging Sudan.

This war is fueled by opposing geostrategic interests (Ukraine, Egypt, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Turkey on the army side, Russia and the United Arab Emirates on the RSF side) on a country occupying a geostrategic position (control of the sources of the Nile, control of the Red Sea and trade through the Suez Canal).

But much more, it is a war between two counter-revolutionary factions who wish to crush the Sudanese people who dared to rise up against the Islamist dictatorship then against the military dictatorship and dared to set up an organization of society civil society in a horizontal way, via the Revolutionary Committees. The young anarchist companions of Sudan participate in the revolutionary movement. As such, they are among the victims of the horrible crimes that strike all those who dare to resist the armed factions.

In previous issues of our newspaper « Anarchosyndicalisme ! », we launched a call for solidarity with our African companions, a call which was heard in France and more widely internationally. The appeal was notably translated into Chinese, Indonesian, Czech, English, Spanish, Turkish, Arabic, etc. … It was relayed by other groups, solidarity debates were organized in Caen or recently in Clermont-Ferrand by the Ephémère squat. Other solidarity debates are planned in Ambert, in the North, etc.

We have already collected more than 3,300 euros (list below), which has already been transferred to the Sudanese companions.

In a message received in June, the companions from Sudan told us:

“We were able to shelter 6 companions. They are now safe in Ethiopia, Rwanda and Kenya. There are a few of us who still remain in Sudan. We will coordinate to continue our liberation activities from abroad [because the situation here is too dangerous]. You supported us very strongly, you saved the lives of our companions who were in very dangerous regions. We hope your support does not stop. Every day we suffer, but my attachment to the ideas and to anarchism continues to grow. Long live solidarity! »

As reported in the press release published by the No Muos committee, at the end of the tenth edition of the camp a procession started from the garrison in Contrada Ulmo to reach the area of the military base.

The police, as we well know, did not take long to react with a dense launch of tear gas even at man height, as is also reported in the lines written by the committee.

At this time it is even more urgent to fight against military works useful to an army engaged on numerous fronts, directly and indirectly, like the American one.

The MUOS also serves to launch drones from the Sigonella base in Sicily, which we know is involved in the genocide carried out by Israel in Palestine.

Above all, it is fundamental insofar as it is increasingly essential that a strong opposition to the war be raised from our territories.

The involvement of the United States in the current war scenarios, both in Ukraine and in the Gaza Strip, remains central and responsibilities must be pointed out.

In our territories we can fight and oppose an expanding war panorama, for internationalist solidarity between peoples, for support of the Palestinian resistance, interrupting the deadly mechanisms of war in our latitudes.

CHARLIE ALERT AT THE US NAVY MUOS BASE: NOMUOS ATTACK THE BASE

Yesterday, the tenth edition of the NoMUOS camp closed with a demonstration that started in the afternoon from our gathering in Contrada Ulmo. While leaving for later the political considerations on the assemblies and meetings that animated the days of the camp, we want to share with enthusiasm what happened at the closing demo of the camp

The procession left the camp to reach first the main gate and then the MUOS station, this geosatellite communication system that allows the American defense to coordinate its weapons systems on a global scale, including the drones that depart from Sigonella.

Throughout the procession there were many slogans in support of the Palestinian resistance, against the Zionist occupation of Palestine and against the American military occupation of Sicily.

There were also many slogans in solidarity with Luigi Spera, a comrade currently detained in the Alexandria prison under the High Security regime.

Despite the large deployment of police forces inside and outside the base, dozens of net cuts occurred along the way and several breaches were made in the perimeter of the base.

Once again, the police used CS gas, the use of which is prohibited in war due to its toxicity, but which is freely used during demonstrations. The police gassed the demonstration, firing tear gas at eye level, hitting several people in the arms, torso and sternum.

The infamy of the police was even greater this time, when on the way back from the base to the garrison, the riot police attacked a group of comrades and tried to take some of them away, failing in the attempt.

Despite this, the group managed to defend and protect itself, leaving and returning together to the camp.

We have been denouncing the US military occupation of our territory for years, opposing US militarism and imperialism by all means.

We are also aware of how these bases prepare and make current wars possible. Yesterday’s attack on the MUOS base in Niscemi is our revenge for the genocide and the Zionist occupation of Palestinian lands, and one of the many ways to practice solidarity with the Palestinian resistance.

Cutting the barbed wire of such a strategically important base in this period of total war, despite the increasing levels of control and the large deployment of security forces, shows that it is possible for those who inhabit the territories to respond to the military occupation, practice resistance and oppose the war.

With the images of yesterday still vivid, we now look to the year of struggle that opens with the rage, enthusiasm and determination that fueled yesterday afternoon.

The war begins at home, stopping it is possible and depends on us.
