Posted by Survival and Red Power Media An indigenous leader has been killed in central-western Brazil, after campaigning for her tribe’s ancestral land to be returned.

Marinalva Manoel, a 27-year-old Guarani Indian, was allegedly raped and stabbed to death. Her body was found on the side of a highway on Saturday.

Last month Marinalva traveled over 1,000 km to the capital, Brasília, with a delegation of Guarani leaders, to insist that the authorities fulfil their legal duty to return the land to the Guarani before more of their people are killed.

The Guarani Council, Aty Guasu, which voices the Indians’ demands, has released a letter calling on the authorities to investigate the murder, and proclaiming, “No more Guarani deaths!” The letter detailed a whole series of death threats against them. Marinalva’s body was naked with dozens of stab wounds.

Belgian riot police fired tear gas and water cannon’s repressing the demonstrators on Thursday, at the first of what’s to be a series of anti-austerity demonstrations and strikes planned for the coming weeks. More than 100,000 people were on the streets of Brussels where they marched peacefully for almost two hours before violence broke out.The violence flared up at the end of an otherwise peaceful protest, when riot police present at the peaceful march provoked protesters and deployed tear gas, some radical demonstrators hurled objects at riot police and launched attacks with the barriers and against the officials. Its the moment of truth for the 9N Catalan ‘referendum’, now called the ‘consultation’.

The far-right Spanish government are playing the ”fascist card”, whipping up a dangerous frenzy of false nationalism to escape the avalanche of corruption cases being revealed daily against their top members.

The right-wing ”Spanish Constitutional Court” is about to ban it for the 2nd time (on orders from their political paymasters).

Will the Catalan government obey and order their own Catalan police, the Mossos, to attack the 40,000 volunteers who are all organized down to the the last detail and ready to go next Sunday?

If not will the corrupt and inept far Spanish PP government carry out its threat to arrest and jail the Catalan leaders, as happened so many times under the fascist dictatorship? Their direct predecessors even executed one legally elected Catalan president, LluisCompanys, along with tens of thousands of Catalan republicans, and banned the Catalan language from schools for 40 years, etc.

Worst Storm in history tonight..Nuri to gust at 378 kph (235mph)

Check out the graphic below. Super typhoon Nuri is forecast to hit 314 kph winds with 378kph gusts tonight/morning at 7.00am. (3rd Nov.)

Then check the Wikipedia entry below. The world record Typhoon Tip was ”only” 305 kph or 190mph.

Luckily there is no land on Nuri’s present track, I wouldn’t fancy being on a boat.

The record ‘Climate Change’ storm should also miss Japan, though with a deviation of just a few degrees it could hit Fukushima while still at hurricane strength.
