It should be against the law to use generative AI to deceive the public.
I’ve got absolutely no problem with outright government censorship in this case, and I say this as an aggressive and outspoken proponent of free speech. AI products which deceive people should be illegal in the same way fraud is illegal.
I want it to be illegal to knowingly circulate AI video footage and pass it off as real.
I want AI companies to be severely penalized if they don’t prevent people from using their products to generate fake videos that get passed off as real.

I want generative AI companies to be forced to place highly visible warnings across all AI-generated videos with wording that explicitly says they are AI-generated — not just a little watermark in the corner that can be cropped out.
I want AI companies to be harshly penalized if their chatbots encourage users to engage in harmful behavior, or if they tell users they are conscious, or if they psychologically manipulate users into forming emotional attachments to them.
I want it to be illegal for companies to use bots which tell people they are talking to a real human being.
I want it to be illegal for politicians to use AI deepfakes of their opponents saying outrageous things in their political campaigns, as we’ve been seeing more and more often lately.
Your right to extend your fist ends at my nose. These products threaten to erode the fabric of our society. They are attacking people’s ability to understand reality and sort out fact from fiction. They are driving people insane.

A new dataset, 54,449 articles across eight major outlets, maps out what so many of us already feel in our bones: Palestine is disappeared on purpose. Not by accident. Not by oversight. Not because the news cycle is “overwhelmed.” Because erasure is the editorial line.
This isn’t about one scandalized headline or one bad reporter. It’s the infrastructure. The architecture. The algorithm of empire dressed up as journalism.
And for two years straight, it has worked exactly as designed.
1. Palestine is treated like a rumor. Israel is treated like a nation.
At The New York Times, “Israel” appeared 186 times for every single mention of “Palestine.”
Not articles, headlines.
The emotional front door of the story.
Half the time “Palestine” shows up, it doesn’t even refer to Palestinians. It refers to Western protestors, almost always framed as violent, unruly, threatening.
When a people’s name appears only to criminalize solidarity, that isn’t journalism. It’s narrative warfare.
“Illegal settlements,” the actual legal term, show up in less than 5% of references across all outlets.
Fifty-four thousand articles. Only three headlines used the phrase “illegal settlements.”
Three.
The theft of land becomes “construction.”
Colonization becomes “housing expansion.”
Armed settlers become “residents.”
This is how language launders violence: one missing adjective and a war crime becomes a zoning dispute.

3. October 7 is a drumbeat. The 2007 blockade is a whisper.
At Corriere della Sera, October 7 is mentioned 215 times for every one mention of the blockade.
At the BBC, the ratio is 104 to 1.
Eighteen years of siege, the entire lives of Gaza’s children erased.
One day elevated to divine scripture.
Context becomes optional only when the truth would indict the powerful.
4. The famine is happening in real time , but the media sees only “terror.”
As children starved in front of the world, as bodies shrank under blockade-induced hunger, coverage still leaned toward one word: terrorism.
Even in months when famine warnings were everywhere, “terrorism” dwarfed “famine,” “starvation,” or “hunger” in nearly every outlet.
Security for the colonizer always outranks survival for the colonized.
5. Precision is a lie told with confidence.
The phrase “precision strike(s)” appears 68 times at the New York Times alone.
If there is such a thing as a “precision strike,” the corpse count would prove it.
Instead, more than 168,000 Palestinians were killed in these “precise” attacks.
A genocide cannot be “targeted.”
A child cannot be collateral.
The language is engineered to make murder feel clinical.
6. Terrorism becomes the air readers breathe.
At the BBC and Le Monde, two-thirds of Gaza coverage includes terrorism terminology.
Repetition is persuasion.
Conditioning.
A drumbeat designed to make Palestinian life sound like a threat.
Once a population is framed as terrorists, their death becomes background noise. Their hunger becomes unfortunate. Their extermination becomes “self-defense.”
7. And the right to return, the core wound of this entire history, is nearly unspeakable.
Thirty-eight mentions.
Out of 54,449 articles.
The oldest refugee crisis on earth, and Western media treats return as a superstition. A ghost story. A taboo.
Israel’s “right to exist” is treated as sacred scripture.
Palestine’s right to exist is treated as dangerous.
That asymmetry isn’t accidental. It is the moral architecture of settler-colonial storytelling.
The takeaway is blunt:
The genocide wasn’t just enabled by bombs, siege, and U.S. weapons.
It was enabled by headlines.
Erasure is policy.
Narrative control is artillery.
Language is one of empire’s sharpest tools.
And what this dataset proves, beyond argument, beyond euphemism, is that Western media chose a side. Not passively. Not accidentally. Structurally.
This is not a media failure.
It’s a media function.
The question now is what we build in its place, and whose names we refuse to let disappear.

Instaed of denouncing and penalizing Israeli killings the US is backing an extortion campaign to force the near bankrupt Lebanese Goverment to disarm the Hezbollah movement. Hezbollah is also a popular major social aid organiser in the country decimated by US sanctions, and is all that blocks Israeli conquest and colonisation of south Lebanon.

Western sponsorship of ongoing Israeli bombings and massacres in Lebanon Gaza and the West bank include almost every bloody crime imaginable. Even including the truly demonic Pager holocaust when the devices, secretly made and supplied by Israel and carrying explosives, were all simultaneously detonated, killing,blinding and mutilating thousands of innocents who aanswered the phone.
Israel always labels anyone who opposes its subhuman sadistic crimes as terrorists. Last week Israelis illustrated this by proposing the death penalty for Palestinian “terrorists” while saying the proposed law could NOT apply to Israelis because they are “incapable of being terrorists”.
The pager massacres were diectly ordered by dictator Netanyahu himself, who is now being offered a pardon for his long list of open crimes, in a move proposed by the Israeli President Herzog, as an obvious trade for Netanyahu’s agreement to Trump’s ‘peace plan’.
Israel has already broken the Gaza Ceasefire on a daily basis, killing at least 290 Palestinians with total impunity and breaking all key clauses, continuing most of the blockade and starvation and blocking most international aid waiting to enter.
Israel’s behaviour enforces and even celebrates an evil and brutal form of fascism, refined and brainwashed into the population over 75 years. But legally Gazans have every right to armed resistance to a military colonisation expelling them from their lands and locking them up indefinitely without trial in the tiny Gaza enclave. I’m sure it didn’t have anything whatsoever to do with Mossad.

Which sounds more likely: (A) that things are bad because the population keeps organically voting for policies which just so happen to hurt ordinary people while benefitting the rich and powerful, or (B) that things are bad because the rich and powerful want things this way?
Does it seem more likely to you that (A) the democratic process consistently leaves people unable to advance basic human interests because the population always organically splits itself into an exact 50–50 deadlock that leaves everyone unable to get anything done long term, and that this deadlock always just so happens to land on a status quo that serves the interests of the rich and powerful, or (B) that the rich and the powerful artificially created this status quo via manipulation?
You don’t need to know anything at all about politics or parapolitics to see that (B) is the most likely explanation for why things keep getting worse for everyone besides the rich and powerful.
Your own basic reasoning and understanding of human behavior will tell you that there’s no way democracy is working as advertised if things keep getting worse and worse for ordinary voters while billionaires and empire managers keep getting everything they want.
Things are shitty because we are ruled by people who want things to be shitty. Once you awaken to this undeniable reality, you will inevitably find yourself growing more and more radicalized.
Our rulers want nonstop war and genocide. Our rulers want obscene levels of inequality.
Our rulers want the public to be poor and struggling. Our rulers want people to be getting dumber, sicker, and more miserable. Our rulers want the unrestricted industry that’s killing earth’s biosphere. Our rulers want us to have vapid, unedifying mainstream culture. This dystopia looks more or less exactly how they want it to look.
Our rulers want war, militarism and genocide to be the norm because military force is one of the critical ways by which they dominate the planet, control resources and trade routes, and prevent foreign states from trying different systems and establishing a different world order. Waging and preparing to wage war has the added bonus of also being extremely profitable.
