Statement from Solidarity Collectives regarding the detainment of Philip O’Keeffe under Schedule 7:

We are asking you to join us in supporting Philip O’Keeffe, a dedicated activist and militant who has faced countless injustices and ongoing repression by the state, all due to his urgent pursuit of delivering tragic news to the family of fallen comrade Ş.Finbar Cafferkey (Çiya Demhat).

Upon reaching London Heathrow Airport, on the evening of April 22nd, his journey took an abrupt turn. Met with the wall of the London Metropolitan Counter Terror Police, he found himself confronted, detained, and subjected to an illegal process under the Schedule 7 Terrorism Act 2000, confiscating all of his electronics in the process.

It is evident that Philip’s involvement with the International Freedom Battalion/YPG and his activism made him a target, further amplifying the need for our collective support.

Philip’s refusal to surrender any information underlines his unwavering commitment to his principles, a testament to the honour and respect he carries for Finbar, fallen comrades, and all those resisting authoritarianism, capitalism, imperialism, and oppression.

Philip’s journey was a testament to the bond between comrades, the dedication to shared principles, and the unwavering commitment to delivering devastating news with compassion and respect.

As veterans of the YPG and the liberation of Raqqa, Argeş and Finbar had fought side by side, driven by a profound belief in social justice and the struggle against oppression.

Philip continued to work with the Kurdish Freedom Movement in the defense of Rojava in the campaigns to defend Efrîn in 2018, and Girî Spie, Serêkanîyê, and Tel Tamr in 2019 in addition to working in the communes of Qamişlo, organizing the supply and delivery of medical aid to hospitals across the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), supporting diplomatic efforts in the AANES and across Europe, supporting projects aimed at improving critical infrastructure and education and a number of other projects.

Philip, like all the comrades that had the fortune to spend time with Finbar, shared a deep connection, understanding, and love for Finbar’s unwavering commitment to his ideals.

The goal of his travelling was to spare the family from learning the news through media channels, imperialist state propaganda, unknown state authorities bearing empty messages of condolences or opportunistically and callously seeking intelligence, or worst yet through a depraved, vile social media post, ensuring they received the information from trusted comrades who cherished and valued Finbar’s memory.

We humbly ask you to contribute to the solidarity fundraiser, organized together with Solidarity Collectives, to assist Philip in his legal battle and help him seek justice against the British Government’s deliberate obstruction of his mission.

IRISH FIGHT TO DEFEND NEUTRALITY FROM NATO WARMONGERS

A packed public meeting in Dublin city centre on Saturday listened to and applauded prominent people speaking against the Irish State becoming part of military alliances, whether PESCO¹ (“NATO by stealth”²) or NATO itself.

The high-profile panel of speakers chaired by Irish MEP Clare Daly featured fellow MEP Mick Wallace, Sevim Dagdalen (MP Die Linke), Medea Benjamin (founder of Code Pink) and Anne Wright (ex-US Army Major and opponent of the US-Iraq War).

Celebrated anti-imperialist rapper Lowkey was also a speaker as was Yanis Varoufakis (ex-Syrza)³ who addressed the meeting by recorded video from abroad and applauded the Irish for their long resistance to colonialism and urged them to be proud of their state’s neutrality.

BACKGROUND

There is a constitutional impediment to the Irish state’s participating in a war partnership with another state and during WW2 the state’s official position was neutrality.

However, it was always a pro-Allied neutrality with British downed airmen allowed to cross over into UK territory and US servicemen often crossing the UK border to visit the ‘south’, while German downed airmen were interned for the duration of the War.

The impediment is not absolute and is usually referred to as the ‘Triple Lock’, listing the three conditions which would enable to government to send more than 12 troops overseas:

a mandate from the United Nations
a Government decision
and a Dáil vote ⁴

In recent years some politicians and public commentators have floated the idea that the Irish state could rejoin the British Commonwealth and, since the war in the Ukraine, a discourse has arisen that the State needs to join an external military alliance in order to protect itself from Russia.

The Irish Times/Ipsos poll in April, amid criticisms of not following best practice in its design and even accusations of trying to steer respondents towards favouring joining some external military alliance, delivered two thirds clearly against the Irish state doing any such thing.

Methane Is Actually Offsetting Its Own Heating Effect In The Atmosphere

When it comes to climate change, greenhouse gasses are often seen as the culprit. Scientists have been searching for ways to cool the atmosphere and to make sure that man plays a huge role in helping abate the change.

These greenhouse gasses come from different products, be it industrial or agricultural. As for the most dangerous gas found in the atmosphere, methane has often been the top on the list. However, recent findings show that this may actually not be the case.

While methane has always been assumed to be harmful for the climate, and rightfully so, a new study of the greenhouse gas shows that its effects may not be as detrimental than what was once assumed by many experts.

There are different sources of methane gas emissions and the biggest ones come from coal, oil, and gas development. However, what people most know about are the emissions that come from agriculture as these have been heavily publicized in the past years.

This is how it works: the planet absorbs heat from the sun. Then, it would radiate the long-wave energy back into space. However, the presence of greenhouse gasses trap the heat inside. The heat that stays in the atmosphere is what brings about ‘the greenhouse effect’.

Registered nurse Elena Vlaica, 46, has spoken out many times about the murder of her husband Stuart in hospital 17 months ago. She claims that 54-year-old Stuart, who’d been admitted to hospital with a possible chest infection, was bullied, humiliated, overdosed and experimented on before he was finally killed.

On his admission into hospital on October 26th 2021, he was put on a cpap machine at 100% pressure which, Elena says, destroyed his lungs. “They could have easily given him oxygen but they didn’t. He didn’t need to go on a cpap.”

All necessary medication was stopped. “Stuart was on blood pressure tablets and antidepressants,” explains Elena, “but these were stopped as soon as he was deemed end of life. Sudden withdrawal of antidepressants can cause dramatic side effects, so once these started up, the doctors started treating them with other medications.”

Stuart was put on a ‘nil by mouth’ regime. Elena wasn’t aware of this at the time but found out months later after she managed to get hold of her husband’s medical notes with the help of a solicitor. “He had no food or water for 11 days,” says a tearful Elena. “He was crying. He said he was hungry. It’s all in the notes.”

Without informing Elena, medics then put Stuart on an end of life care pathway. “I had no idea this was happening at the time: no one at the hospital told me and I wasn’t allowed to visit because of Covid rules.”

Elena discovered from Stuart’s medical notes after his death that the 120kg dad and grandad had tried to escape from the hospital FOUR times. “He was a big man and it took four medics to pin him down and sedate him. It breaks my heart thinking about this. He wanted to go home and they stopped him by physically restraining him and drugging him.”

A consultant started calling Elena on FaceTime every day. “He called me every day for 10 days at the same time. The language he used was strange. It was if he was MK Ultra brainwashed.

He’d always start the conversation saying that Stuart was unvaccinated. He’d say three things over and over – Covid, unvaccinated, end of life.

It was like some kind of NLP (neurolinguistic programming). He told me Stuart would not be leaving the hospital alive. I argued and fought. I’d seen his blood test results: they were normal. My Stuart was not a dying man. He just had a chest infection. I wanted him home.”

Elena later discovered that, in order to prevent Stuart leaving the hospital, not only did they sedate him with Midazolam and morphine (two drugs that should never be used together but had started being used concomitantly as a Covid protocol), they also cut off his clothes and catheterised him.

Elena, heartbroken, sighs: “All this to stop him running away. To humiliate him further they cut off his clothes and catheterised him. He was kept naked. He didn’t need a catheter: he was able to use a toilet, although obviously not after they sedated him.”

To keep him under control, Stuart was given regular large doses of benzodiazepine sedative Midazolam and opiate morphine. He was given over 100mgs in total, enough (according to one expert) “to take down an elephant.” (It’s well-documented that these drugs are used as lethal injections in the US to execute Death Row prisoners.)

As a nurse, Elena knows that Stuart had been given a deadly dose. “I’m amazed he stayed alive as long as he did. He was a fighter though and he wanted to come home.”

As if all this wasn’t horrific enough, the doctors were also testing out new Covid treatments on Stuart. Again, Elena knew nothing of this until after his death.

“They started giving him several on-trial Covid medications, unapproved in the UK – they tested Remdesivir on him, which is known to destroy the liver and kidneys and has killed thousands in the US where Anthony Fauci recommended it as a Covid treatment; they pumped him full of monoclonal antibodies… on top of antibiotics.

It was like a Nazi experiment. No consent. The Nuremberg Code was not adhered to. To be used as a human guinea pig without giving any consent is a violation of human rights. How did they get away with it?”

The day of Stuart’s death is the stuff of horror movies. On November 6th 2021 at 1pm, Elena had a call from the hospital to let her know that her Stuart was dying. When she arrived, Elena could see he was heavily sedated. “He looked like he was in a coma. I know now he was in a Midazolam coma. I was kissing him and I could see his saturation levels improving. He knew I was there and I knew he was fighting for his life. When the junior doctor saw me looking at the monitor, she switched it off.

At that moment a nurse appeared with five 10ml syringes on a blue tray. She pushed two of them into Stuart’s canula, he took three breaths, then died in my arms. I shouted “she’s killed him!” then broke down. I don’t remember getting home that night.”

Looking back at everything Stuart suffered, Elena truly believes that he was being punished for not having taken the experimental jab. “Every day, they mentioned it.

They seemed very judgmental about it. Stuart and I had decided together not to get the jabs because we felt they were too new and there wasn’t enough information about them. I told the doctors this but they didn’t like it.
