Along withothers we invite you to join in the festivals of resistance continuing after Donald Trump took office. This is a crucial opportunity to engage in outreach, and resistance to militarized racist expulsions…
Order mass deportations, escalate the repression of protesters, dismantle the few judicial and legislative provisions that still protect ordinary people, and consolidate a propaganda ecosystem intended to stupefy us all into obedience. While authoritarian leftist groups are simply treating this as a recruitment opportunity.
But from Texas to the West Bank, millions of people’s lives are getting even harder. We owe it to each other to meet the second Trump era side by side in solidarity.
The chaos that will accompany the return of the Trump administration represents an opportunity as well as a challenge. This is a chance to assert an autonomous pole of organizing, carrying forward the lessons of 2020 and the movement against Cop City while continuing the fight against patriarchal violence, white supremacy, and colonialism.
We need to welcome new participants into these struggles and foster a revolutionary perspective that can orient us through the challenges ahead. No amount of internet activity could substitute for gathering face to face. The most important battles ahead will not be fought online, but in the streets of our communities.
The decentralized Festival of Resistance aims to strategize about how to confront the Trump agenda in your region, a chance to expand rapid response networks for community defense and mutual aid.
It’s up to local communities to decide what best fits local context. The important thing is to create a space and get connected ahead of the next round of struggles—a space where people can hone their skills and begin to think of themselves as a collective force.
No matter who Trump’s administration targets—whether immigrants, Palestine solidarity organizers, sex workers, schoolteachers, trans people, environmentalists, or people seeking abortions—we must show that we will love and protect one another.
If we all pull together, showing everyone who wants to resist that there are movements that they can join, we can begin to build the strength that we will need to overcome the challenges ahead.
Leonard Peltier, the Native American activist serving life for the killing of two federal agents, was finally granted clemency by President Biden on Monday.
Commuted to house arrest after 50 years of detention (minus a short jail break) and available for parole since 1993.
“LeonardPeltier’s liberation is our liberation — we will honor him by bringing him back to his homelands to live out the rest of his days surrounded by loved ones, healing, and reconnecting …
The release of the Native American activist, who was convicted in the 1975 killing of two FBI agents on the Pine Ridge reservation in South Dakota, was a popular social justice cause in the music community
January 20, 2025
After nearly 50 years in federal prison, Native American rights activist Leonard Peltier has been released. President Joe Biden, in the final minutes of his presidency, commuted the sentence of Peltier, who was convicted in the killing of two FBI agents in 1975 on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.
“It’s finally over — I’m going home,” Peltier said. “I want to show the world I’m a good person with a good heart. “I would love to go home,” Peltier said by phone from the Federal Correctional Complex Coleman in Florida. “My family wants to take care of me. My tribe wants to take care of me.”
The release of the 80-year-old Peltier, who will be sent to home confinement, has been a longtime social justice cause, especially among musicians. Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, Jackson Browne, Rage Against the Machine, and Pete Seeger have all performed at or attended benefits calling for Peltier’s freedom.
Peltier’s daughter, Kathy Peltier, said she was in shock after learning what Biden had done after past presidential requests for clemency were unsuccessful.
Nick Tilsen, CEO of the NDN Collective, said Peltier’s conviction was emblematic of the struggle between Native Americans and the federal government, particularly on Indigenous lands.
“Leonard Peltier’s liberation is our liberation — we will honor him by bringing him back to his homelands to live out the rest of his days surrounded by loved ones, healing, and reconnecting with his land and culture,” Tilsen said in a statement.
Leonard’s arrest..finally everyone knows he is innocent
Natalie Bara, the president of the FBI Agents Association, which advocates for active and retired agents, said it is “outraged” by Biden’s reprieve for Peltier.
Christopher Wray, who became FBI director in 2017 before retiring Monday as President Donald Trump took office for his second term, had tried to convince Biden not to commute Peltier’s sentence… Mr. President, I urge you in the strongest terms possible: Do not pardon Leonard Peltier or cut his sentence short,” Wray wrote.
Imprisoned for nearly 50 years, Peltier has maintained his innocence and there are grounds to believe him.[1]
The federal government, for example, withheld a ballistics report at Peltier’s trial indicating the fatal bullets did not come from his weapon, according to court documents Peltier filed on appeal.
One prosecution witness, Michael Anderson, testified during cross-examination that he was threatened by an FBI agent, and said that he agreed to testify in exchange for criminal charges against him in another case being dropped.
Another witness, Myrtle Poor Bear, said that she had been coerced into signing a false affidavit implicating Peltier and that her life had been threatened. “They had the law in their hands, and could do anything,” she said of the FBI.
💢 Multiple people killed and wounded at Tishreen in bombing by Turkish state 💢
Again the Turkish state has bombed Tishreen dam. By now at least20 of the heroic ‘Human Shield’ civilians have been murdered by Turkish (NATO) jets and drones.
Others are injured. The Tishreen dam is under direct strikes and the Turkish state, under Erdogan’s orders, is aiming at the civilians in a barbaric attempt to clear the way into eastern Rojava, promising loot, lands, rape and torture to its SNA jihadi – badly paid Turkish mercenaries.
Mass funerals: The KCK condemns Turkey’s deadly attacks on Northeast Syria and calls on the UN, the Arab League, and the international coalition to take action.
Even so, yesterday another convoy of Human Shields arrived at the dam, of people determined to save their revolution or die trying. Meanwhile Turkey and the international Media continue a cowardly news blackout..

The only reasonable way to get out of the mindset of religious fanaticism is to turn to humanism and humane values that fanatics oppose. The road is indeed long and hazardous, but it is worth exploring. – Nasir Khan –
If rational people start thinking on these lines, they will also be walking along these lines. Accordingly, they will influence others. Otherwise, we will remain mired in the mud of religious fanaticism and barbarism.
Many people are justifiably afraid of the enormous influence the right-wing forces wield and exploit religions for their nefarious political agendas, communalism, hatred against other religious communities, creeds, oppose social justice and equal sociopolitical rights for all.
These forces are a danger to all and are very active. They are a big danger to all human values, which are the foundation stones of modern democratic societies, their organization and functioning.
But we should keep in mind that many people are actively involved in combating and fighting against these forces of darkness and inhumanity.
What our friends and sympathizers can do in this struggle is not to become only silent spectators and leave the field open to the fanatics, but to side with those who are involved in political struggles against the reactionary forces.
This work involves, among other activities, using the media for highlighting the harm the fanatics have caused by their indoctrination and falsehoods.
This process strengthens the struggle of creating common bonds of humanity and respect for all members of society, where the development of all fairly and democratically is possible.
That means rejecting religious fanaticism in all forms and advancing the cause of socialist democratic values and humanism.
