The Yemen horror began after the UN recognized the election of Saudi stooge Hadi as Sunni president in a rigged election in which he was the only candidate. So Hadi is accepted as Mr YEMEN, the official Yemeni State, though ever since he has lived in Saudi, while the US and UK rake in billions and sell military support to genocide the revolutionary shia Houthi movement in Nth Yemen.

UN halts war crimes investigation in Yemen

The Council voted 21-18 against a resolution to continue the probe by the Group of Eminent Experts on Yemen for two years.

In a statement, the experts group called the vote a “major setback for all victims who have suffered serious violations.”

Afrah Nasser, Yemen researcher at U.S.-based group Human Rights Watch, said in a statement: “Saudi Arabia, a leading party to the conflict in Yemen accused of serious violations including likely war crimes, together with its coalition allies, is engaging in a tireless lobbying campaign to deter states at the Human Rights Council from renewing the (inquiry) mandate.”

It remains unclear how much the vote was affected by Saudi financial lobbying and Sunni solidarity, and how much by a perception of the UN as biased and counterproductive.

Radhya Almutawakel, chairperson of the independent Yemeni activist group Mwatana for Human Rights, said she was deeply disappointed by the result.

The vote reflects international rejection of the pro US and Saudi position of the UN which still designates exiled Hadi’s group in Saudi as the legitimate government. All UN moves to end the war have failed.

The United Nations’ (UN) Human Rights Council on Thursday narrowly voted to end its investigation of war crimes in Yemen.

During the debate, Bahraini ambassador Yusuf Abdulkarim Bucheeri said that the international group of investigators had “contributed to spreading misinformation about the situation on the ground” in Yemen.

“The negative vote taken yesterday by Council members further underlines the Group’s assessment that there is a lack of political will to address the situation in Yemen,” the group said.

‘Thousands of Police Killings Are Unreported’

this was the title of Margaret Kimberly’s  Oct. 6, 2021 column.  A few moths ago I’d emailed Ms. Kimberly,(…..) to ask why the content was no longer labeled Create Content at the bottom.  Only brother Glen had responded, and was quite baffled about my question.  I explained that for some reason, the content never ended, but kept scrolling and scrolling, as in: there IS no bottom.   He finally wrote back to consider it all free to publish, bless his ailing heart.

I’ll take him at his word, given the significance of this news.

“Police killings of Black people are a feature of American law enforcement and they are deliberately under counted.

The New York Times and other outlets report that most police killings in this country are “mislabelled .” The sanitized language is worse than an understatement because it implies that these murders are categorized improperly due to ordinary human error.

In fact, there is a long and sordid history of covering up these crimes. The initial coroner’s report for George Floyd, whose murder was witnessed by millions of people, reported drug use and underlying health conditions as the causes of death.

Sigurdur_Thordarson (born 1992), commonly known as Siggi hakkari (“Siggi the Hacker”), is an Icelandic convicted criminal and FBI informant against WikiLeaks. He is known for information leaks, multiple cases of fraud and embezzlement, sexual solicitation of minors and adults.. ..https://en.wikipedia.org › wiki ›.

Sigurdur Thordarson was placed into custody in Iceland last month, the newspaper Stundin said, citing his lawyer.

A judge agreed with the police that if Thordarson remained free, he would continue an ongoing spree of crimes in the European nation. He is now kept in the highest-security prison in the country, Litla-Hraun, the report said.

There is a provision in Icelandic law that allows indefinite detention of a convicted felon if there is a reasonable suspicion that the individual has been reoffending and will continue to do so unless arrested. It has a high legal bar and is rarely used in practice, but was applied in Thordarson’s case, Stundin reported.

It mentioned earlier confessions of dubious financial machinations made by Thordarson during an interview he gave the newspaper.

Thordarson is a dubious character, whose prior convictions were related to financial fraud and his soliciting of sexual favors from minor boys.

Yet his credibility – or lack thereof – is essential for the ongoing US bid to extradite WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange from Britain.
