For the children I’ve held, and lost. – Avaaz Appeal

Dear Avaaz members, As a doctor, I am one of the few who can bear witness to the unimaginable horrors of Gaza.

by Dr Graeme Groom with Avaaz – Help End the Horror (https://secure.avaaz.org/campaign/en/people_power_for_gaza_2_5/) via https://wp.me/pIJl9-Hmy / thefreeonline

I have worked in the bombed and starving hospitals, seen things no human should ever witness, let alone experience. I feel the suffering with a visceral intensity.

Skeletal babies and children with their limbs torn away. Mothers too weak to feed their newborns.
Even the nurses and surgeons collapsing from hunger. We take an oath to protect our patients. And that goes beyond their immediate medical care.

That’s why I joined Avaaz, travelling to meet governments face-to-face. To tell them what I’ve seen — to make them face the reality of genocide, and the costs of their inaction.

Politicians cried. I saw them break down. Heard them admit they had no idea it was so bad. And I felt the room shift when they realised it could be their children getting bombed, starving and alone.

Some governments are finally announcing sanctions and cutting off weapons. But it’s not enough.

Now we must turn that trickle into a tidal wave — and I’m humbly asking for your support.
Avaaz is organising to take many more doctors to meet with as many Presidents and Ministers as we can.

They have the power to stop this genocide and open the borders for a flood of humanitarian aid.
We cannot deliver that aid ourselves — Israel’s blockade makes it impossible. But we can fight like hell to make our governments intervene.

There is a fire in me, burning for all the children I’ve held, and lost.
And I promise you now, I will not stop.
This genocide will end. What matters is how many children we lose before then.

Please, donate whatever you can — so we can change the hearts and minds of those with the power to end this horror. Your donation will be used to help end the genocide and unlock humanitarian aid. Donate what you can now:

I’LL DONATE €2 I’LL DONATE €4 I’LL DONATE €7 I’LL DONATE €14 OTHER AMOUNT .. https://secure.avaaz.org/campaign/en/people_power_for_gaza_2_5/

This is not some natural disaster — it is mass murder and intentional starvation. Trucks packed with baby formula, food, and medicine are waiting just across the border. But Israel won’t let them in.

Politicians aren’t always moved by headlines or reports. But I’ve seen how they react to the personal, human testimony of doctors like me.One moment of connection between two people can crack indifference wide open.
And when it’s paired with huge, relentless public pressure, the excuses fall apart, paving the way for real action.

Now if we raise enough from this email, we could:
Fund many delegations of doctors to meet with Presidents, Prime Ministers, and governments across Europe and beyond;
Support an uprising of protests and flotillas, from the heart of Berlin to the docks of Marseille, to help stop the supply of weapons to Israel;
Organise media-grabbing stunts outside parliaments and international meetings, forcing politicians to confront the genocide and their ability to stop it;
Expand Avaaz’s team of Gaza campaigners, storytellers, and communication experts to shift the narrative around Palestine;
Fund Avaaz’s work on the ground in Palestine, helping to organise thousands of people to end Apartheid and the ongoing occupation.

The worst-case scenario is now unfolding in Gaza. But we can do something about it, together.

Donate what you can now: I’LL DONATE €2 I’LL DONATE €4 I’LL DONATE €7 I’LL DONATE €14 OTHER AMOUNT .. https://secure.avaaz.org/campaign/en/people_power_for_gaza_2_5/

People often look back on previous genocides and wonder what they would have done. It’s whatever you’re doing right now.

So don’t look away. Don’t change the subject. Because in another life, it could be any of us running from the bombs, queuing for scraps of food, pleading for the world to do something.
I believe in the power of what we are doing together. And while I didn’t know of Avaaz before we started these meetings, I have been utterly blown away by what this community can do, and your ferocious commitment to the people of Gaza. It is needed more than ever.+

For the children of Gaza, and the hopes of tomorrow,

Dr Graeme Groom and the whole team at Avaaz

What You Should Know About The Doctors
  • Dr Graeme Groom is an Orthopaedic Surgeon who has worked in Gaza over 40 times, including four missions since October 2023.
  • International doctors are some of the only eyewitnesses to leave Gaza alive. With international reporters almost entirely banned, and local journalists getting killed or trapped inside Gaza, doctors like Dr Groom are uniquely positioned to bear witness — and to confront governments with what they’ve seen first-hand.
  • Dr Groom is just one of the doctors Avaaz is working with. We are preparing for many more doctors like him to meet with leaders of governments such as Spain, Germany, France, and the UK. The EU is Israel’s largest trading partner. This means they have enormous financial leverage to stop the genocide and open the way for humanitarian aid.
  • Everything Avaaz does is entirely funded by people like you. Your donation makes it possible for doctors like Dr. Groom to carry their eyewitness accounts to the halls of power and fuels our campaigning to end the genocide and bring peace to Palestine.

Israel Is So Evil That It Has A Military Unit Dedicated To Excusing Atrocities

by Caitlin Johnstone on Aug 17, 2025 via thefreeonline at https://wp.me/pIJl9-HkS Telegram. t.me/thefreeonline/3886

Notes From The Edge Of The Narrative Matrix

Listen to a reading of this article (reading by Tim Foley):

Israel is so fucking evil that it has a military unit dedicated to coming up with excuses for the IDF’s atrocities. +972 reports that the IDF has a special unit it calls the “Legitimization Cell”, because it is tasked with finding justifications to legitimize the assassination of journalists and other war crimes for the purpose of “public relations”.

Probably goes without saying, but if Israel was on the side of truth and morality it would not have a military unit dedicated to manipulating the public narrative about actions which normal people would see as extremely evil.

Israel: We can’t allow Palestinian journalists to remain alive in Gaza because all the Palestinian journalists are Hamas.

Western journalists: Okay so let us in, that way there can be journalists documenting what’s happening in Gaza who aren’t Hamas.

Israel: [long pause] … No.

I have never been less open to people with different opinions than I am with Gaza. I am simply correct, and if you disagree with me you are wrong and I hate you.

I have alienated various readers and online factions over the years with the things I have written, but that has usually been unintentional; normally I don’t like to alienate people who resonate with my work. Gaza was the first time I’ve been happy to lose anyone who disagreed with me. It was like, You’re leaving? Good. Get the fuck out. I’m going to keep saying what I’m saying and if you don’t like it then I don’t like you. If you don’t leave then I’ll kick you out myself.

I like to stay open to different perspectives, and I like to have people with different perspectives stay open to me. But Gaza is such an easy and obvious moral question that I stand nothing to gain from any contact with anybody who answers that question incorrectly. I’ve never been so fast and so confident in making enemies than I have over this issue.

I’m nearly as impatient with people who haven’t taken a forceful side on this. It’s a sign of developing maturity to be able to see both sides of an issue, but it’s a sign of further maturity to understand that just because you can see both sides doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take sides on important and relevant moral issues with a clear right and wrong side. Stop fence-sitting on a genocide and grow the fuck up.

If a guy tries to rob you or rape you or murder you make sure you ask him his religion before trying to stop him, because you don’t want to be accidentally antisemitic.

Nothing creates support for Hamas more than Israel’s actions in Gaza. Nothing creates hatred of Israel more than Israel’s actions in Gaza. Nothing creates hatred of Jews more than Israel’s actions in Gaza. Everything Israel’s supporters complain most about is caused by Israel.

The strongest argument that Israel is committing genocide is that all major human rights groups say it’s a genocide, including Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, and Israeli rights groups like B’Tselem, along with the overwhelming majority of genocide scholars and human rights experts. The debate is over. This is a settled matter.

The hasbara machine hasn’t come up with a counter-argument for this. They hate it. Whenever I use it they always try to push the debate in some other direction where they have a counter-argument they’ve been trained to regurgitate, but when I stick to the universal consensus among human rights groups they always get mad and rage quit.

It’s so undignified how western governments and news outlets keep talking about Israel’s officially stated reasons for its actions in Gaza like we don’t all know they want to get rid of the Palestinians who live there and have been trying to get rid of them for generations.

I love when I criticize Israel for something and someone goes “Oh yeah well America does that too!” Like that’s a defense. It’s like yes, those are both evil states who do evil things constantly, and they work in conjunction with each other and are not meaningfully separate. Yes.

Israel’s Genocide is Big Business – How it Works- the Face of a Future we must Stop-

Wounded child, no surviving family’

Israel’s genocide is big business – and the face of the future

The Financial Times revealed this month that a cabal of Israeli investors, one of the world’s top business consulting groups and a think-tank headed by former British prime minister Tony Blair had been secretly working on plans to exploit the ruins of Gaza as prime real estate.

The secret consortium appears to have been seeking practical ways to realise US President Donlad Trump’s “vision” of Gaza as the “Riviera of the Middle East”: transforming the small coastal enclave into a playground for the rich and an enticing investment opportunity, once it can be ethnically cleansed of its Palestinian population.

A/HRC/59/23: From economy of occupation to economy of genocide – Report of the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967 (Advance edited version)

Meanwhile, the UK government has declared Palestine Action a terrorist organisation – the first time in British history that a direct-action campaign group has been banned under Britain’s already draconian terrorism legislation.

Notably, the government of Keir Starmer took the decision to proscribe Palestine Action after lobbying from Elbit Systems, an Israeli weapons maker whose factories in the UK have been targeted by Palestine Action for disruption. Elbit supplies Israel with killer drones and other weapons central to Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

These revelations came to light as the United Nation’s special rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, published a report – titled “From economy of occupation to economy of genocide” – exposing Big Business’ extensive involvement in, and profits from, Israel’s crimes in Gaza.

In an interview with US journalist Chris Hedges, Albanese, an expert in international law, concluded: “The genocide in Gaza has not stopped, because it is lucrative. It’s profitable for far too many.”

Albanese lists dozens of major western companies that are deeply invested in Israel’s oppression of the Palestinian people.

This is not a new development, as she notes. These firms have exploited business opportunities associated with Israel’s violent occupation of the Palestinian people’s lands for years, and in some cases decades.

The switch from Israel’s occupation of Gaza to its current genocide hasn’t threatened profits; it has enhanced them. Or as Albanese puts it: “The profits have increased as the economy of the occupation transformed into an economy of genocide.”

The special rapporteur has been a growing thorn in the side of Israel and its western sponsors over the past 21 months of slaughter in Gaza..

That explains why Marco Rubio, Trump’s secretary of state, announced soon after her report was issued that he was imposing sanctions on Albanese for her efforts to shed light on the crimes of Israeli and US officials.

Revealingly, he called her statements – rooted in international law – “economic warfare against the United States and Israel”. Albanese and the UN system of universal human rights that stands behind her, it seems, represent a threat to western profiteering.

Window on the future

Israel effectively serves as the world’s largest business incubator – though, in its case, not just by nurturing start-up companies.

Rather, it offers global corporations the chance to test and refine new weapons, machinery, technologies, data collection and automation processes in the occupied territories. These developments are associated with mass oppression, control, surveillance, incarceration, ethnic cleansing – and now genocide.

In a world of shrinking resources and growing climate chaos, such innovative technologies of subjugation are likely to have domestic, in addition to overseas, applications. Gaza is the corporate world’s laboratory, and a window into our own future.

In her 60-page report, Albanese writes that her research “reveals how the forever-occupation has become the ideal testing ground for arms manufacturers and Big Tech… while investors and private and public institutions profit freely”.

Her point was underscored by the Israeli arms firm Rafael, which issued a promotional video of its Spike FireFly drone that showed it locating, chasing and killing a Palestinian in what it called “urban warfare” in Gaza.

As the UN special rapporteur points out, quite aside from the issue of genocide in Gaza, western companies have been under a legal and moral obligation to sever ties with Israel’s system of occupation since last summer.

That was when the world’s highest court, the International Court of Justice, ruled Israel’s decades-old occupation was a criminal enterprise based on apartheid and forcible transfer – or what Albanese refers to as policies of “displacement and replacement”.

Instead, the corporate sector – and western governments – continue to deepen their involvement in Israel’s crimes.

It is not just arms manufacturers profiting from the genocidal levelling of Gaza and the occupations of the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Big Tech, construction and materials firms, agribusiness, the tourism industry, the goods and services sector, and supply chains have also got in on the act.

And enabling it all is a finance sector – which includes banks, pension funds, universities, insurers and charities – keen to continue investing in this architecture of oppression.

Albanese describes the mosaic of companies partnering with Israel as “an eco-system sustaining this illegality”.

Help Noor and Amal survive the genocide in Gaza…. How it worked!|

Escaping scrutiny

For these corporations and their enablers, international law – the legal system Albanese and her fellow UN rapporteurs are there to uphold – serves as an impediment to the pursuit of profit.

Albanese notes that the business sector can escape scrutiny by shielding behind other actors.

Israel and its senior officials are on notice for committing genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes.

When she wrote to 48 companies to warn them that they were colluding in this criminality, they either responded that this was Israel’s responsibility, not theirs, or that it was for states, not international law, to regulate their business activities.

Humanitarian Aid from Hell: Extermination of Palestinians hyped as Help

by @tarikcyrilamartarikcyrilamar. at substack.com via RT and thefreeonline at https://wp.me/pIJl9-Hd7 Telegram- t.me/thefreeonline/3616

The Gaza genocide is special. And not in one but two regards.

As has often been observed, this is the first genocide in history that is, in essence, livestreamed. No genocide before has been committed under the eyes of the world like this one. And second, the Gaza genocide is undermining and, in effect, devastating whole moral and legal orders – or at least longstanding claims to them – in an equally unprecedented way.

These two peculiarities are related: The only way the world as a whole could have tolerated the Gaza genocide for almost three years now is by stubbornly disregarding fundamental norms, both written and unwritten.

For instance, almost no state – with the exception of Yemen (under de facto control of the Ansar Allah movement or Houthis) – has even tried to comply with its binding and clear obligations under the 1948 UN Genocide Convention, namely to “prevent and punish” the crime of genocide.

Yet the small but still disproportionately influential part of the world that calls itself the West has gone beyond merely failing to act. That’s because, whether the West is a civilization once shaped by Christianity or not, for a long time now, its true inner core has been hypocrisy.

And during the Gaza Genocide, the West’s compulsive need to rationalize even its most vicious actions into acts of virtue covered by ‘values’, has led to a new peak of absolute moral and intellectual perversion:

Precisely because the West has not only abandoned the Palestinian victims but is actively co-perpetrating this genocide together with Israel, its elites – in politics, culture, the media, the police, and judiciary – have made a sustained, obstinate effort to radically alter our sense of right and wrong, from specific legal norms down to our intuitive and widely shared understanding of limits never to be crossed.

Waging, for example, a so-called ‘war’ by killing or injuring – often maiming for lifeover 50,000 children (as of May 2025)? A ‘war’ in which we receive one reliable testimony after another that many of these children are targeted deliberately, including by drone operators and snipers? A ‘war’ in which starvation, medical deprivation, and the promotion of epidemics have all been deployed equally deliberately? In the West, we are told to call this ‘self-defense’.

see also.. Aid as ambush: The horrifying new face of Israel’s Gaza war

Indeed, we are asked – with great insistence, to say the least – to believe that this form of mass-murderous, infanticiding ‘self-defense’ is something to be proud of, even vicariously: The mayor of Berlin, Kai Wegner, for instance – notorious for his suppression of any signs of resistance to Israeli genocide – has just declared that city hall will keep flying the Israeli flag.

In the same depraved spirit, the establishments of the West hand out punishment – from vicious police beatings to crippling lawfare to international sanctions – not to the perpetrators and accomplices of the Gaza genocide, in Israel and elsewhere, but to those who resist it in solidarity with its Palestinian victims.

Protesters, journalists worth their salt, and even a UN special rapporteur are treated like criminals, even terrorists for actually standing up against the crime of genocide, as – just yesterday, it seems – we were all officially supposed to do. But ‘never again’ has been turned into ‘definitely again, and as long as the murderers want, since they are Israelis and our friends’.

It is in this context of a reversal of morality, law, and meaning so complete the overused term ‘Orwellian’ for once really applies that we can understand what is now happening to the concept of ‘humanitarian’ action.

According to the Encyclopedia Britannica’s back-to-basics definition, a humanitarian is a person who works to make other people’s lives better, for instance, by trying to end world hunger. Since modern humanitarianism already has a history of two centuries, historians, such as Michael Barnett in his ‘Empire of Humanity’, have delivered more complex accounts.

Critics have long denounced humanitarianism’s limits and even flaws. For French sociologist Jean Baudrillard, it is what’s left when a more optimistic humanism decays: A sort of bleak emergency response, a sign that the world has gotten worse, again.

In particular, during the post-Cold War decades of American hubris – misnamed the ‘unipolar moment’ – humanitarianism often allied with Western imperialism. In the war of aggression against Iraq that started in 2003, for instance, humanitarian organizations became servants to the aggressors, invaders, and occupiers.

Hypocritical EU ‘totally complicit in Gaza genocide’ – former MEP Mick Wallace

8 Jul, 2025 21:28 by..Banned World News via thefreeonline at https://wp.me/pIJl9-HaZ see telegram t.me/thefreeonline/3562

“As far as I’m concerned, the EU has enabled and supported the genocide in Gaza 100%,” he stated.

“The EU has shown unwavering support for Israel’s genocide in Gaza while failing to uphold international law or acknowledge the scale of Palestinian suffering,,”,

Speaking to RT on Monday, Wallace accused Brussels of being “totally complicit,” adding that the word “complicit” was not strong enough.

He singled out unelected European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Parliament President Roberta Metsola for granting Israel a “blank check”

“Neither of them has said one word of criticism of Israel yet,” he said.

While public opposition to the war continues across Europe, Wallace says EU leaders have aligned themselves with what he described as the “Zionist settler-colonial project.”

Asked about an EU External Action Service review suggesting Israel may have violated human rights, Wallace dismissed the prospect of any response, “because Israel has them in their pocket.”

He pointed to the staggering number of Palestinians – including tens of thousands of children – killed by Israeli forces.

yet “the EU institutions still refuse to condemn Israel.”

But when images of starvation surfaced, EU officials abruptly declared it was “wrong to starve the Palestinians,” he said.

“Is it okay to bomb them morning, noon, and night, but not starve them?”

Wallace accused the EU leadership of having “no morals” and “no interest in international law anymore.”

Commenting on reports that EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas may propose a formal response to Israel’s actions, Wallace scoffed: “Come on. You wouldn’t give her a job in a coffee shop… She hasn’t a clue.”

The EU’s association agreement with Israel includes a human rights clause, but Wallace said it has no real effect:

“Not one single member state has broken business links with Israel yet,” he said. “The hypocrisy is dripping out of the place.”

Asked about Germany’s role as Israel’s top EU arms supplier, Wallace responded: “I would hold every EU member state culpable… The genocide is happening because both the US and Europe have given it full support.”

The conflict began with Hamas’ breakout from Gaza after decades of mass imprisonment in October 2023, in which around 1,200 people were killed and 250 were taken hostage. Of those, 50 remain in Gaza, with fewer than half still alive.

Sorry If This Is Antisemitic But I Think It’s Wrong To Burn Children Alive

Caitlin Johnstone at Caitlinjohnst May 28, 2025 via thefreeonline at https://wp.me/pIJl9-H2P see Telegram t.me/thefreeonline/3252

Listen to a reading of this article (reading by Tim Foley).

Now that it’s been made clear that Israel’s goal in Gaza is the complete ethnic cleansing of all Palestinians, Israel apologists have been shifting from bleating about hostages and Hamas to arguing that ethnic cleansing is actually fine and good. Which makes sense; that’s really the only argument they can make at this point.

Never forget that the US Congress gave Netanyahu dozens of standing ovations during a single speech while he was in the middle of perpetrating history’s first live-streamed genocide. This is who they are. It will always be who they are.

Israel has done more to promote hatred toward Jews in the last year and a half than Stormfront has in its entire existence. No white supremacist propaganda will ever be as effective at spreading hatred against Jews as openly mass murdering children under a Star of David flag.

Support for Israel used to be the overwhelmingly dominant opinion in the western world. Luckily that’s changing, but the fact that this was the case until Israel exposed itself shows you really can’t just go along with majority opinion on any issue. You need to think for yourself.

Ignore what the crowd says. Ignore people who scream at you for disagreeing with their position. Look at the raw facts as free from your own cognitive biases as you are able, and have the courage to stand on your own if necessary.

Gaza is such an easy moral issue to get right that there’s no way anyone who gets it wrong isn’t a shitty person in other areas of their life as well. I feel sorry for anyone who has interpersonal relationships with Israel supporters, because they’d suck to be around.

World Food Programme director Cindy McCain is saying that she’s seen no evidence of Hamas stealing aid entering Gaza. Israel’s one and only argument for continuing to block aid to Gaza is being publicly debunked by a member of one of the most pro-Israel families in US politics.

The US has reportedly delivered some 90,000 tons of weapons to Israel since October 2023.

I mostly focus on the Gaza genocide these days, but sometimes figures like this make me zoom out a few clicks and think about how bat shit insane our civilization is as a whole. Just think how much good we could do in the world if we weren’t pouring resources into evil shit like this.

Murdoch-owned publication The Australian came after me the other day for tweeting “Two Israeli embassy staff getting shot in Washington DC is less newsworthy than tens of thousands of Palestinians being killed in Israel’s genocidal land grab. It is less important. It deserves less attention. It is not the main story. Israel’s genocide in Gaza is the main story.”

They called me a “journalist” in scare quotes, which I guess is supposed to be an insult, but coming from the Murdoch press it can only be seen as a compliment.

According to the official western narrative, Americans becoming violently radicalized by a US-backed genocide is a bigger issue than the US-backed genocide.

According to the official narrative, university protests against a transparent ethnic cleansing operation are a greater concern than the transparent ethnic cleansing operation.

According to the official narrative, western Zionist Jews feeling emotionally upset about opposition to a modern-day holocaust is a more urgent problem than a modern-day holocaust.

All of our institutions are backwards and evil. Our media. Our politics. Our education system. Our manufacturers of mainstream culture. This should be clear to everyone by now.

Everything we were taught to fear about the countries that the western empire hates is true of the western empire.

Every dark future we were warned about in dystopian fiction is true of the dystopia we are living in presently.

We live in a nightmare of a civilization, under an empire that is fueled by human blood. The closer you examine it, the uglier it gets.

This cannot be allowed to continue. It must not be allowed to continue.

The empire must fall.

STOP dehumanizing Palestinians!

It has been more than 18 months since the Israeli government began their most recent assault on Gaza and the West Bank.

The retaliation for the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack in Israel, has escalated to what the international community has called genocide, therefore, GRIID will be providing weekly links to information and analysis that we think can better inform us of what is happening, along with the role that the US government is playing.

We will also provide information on local events and actions that people can get involved in.

All of this information is to provide people with the capacity of what Noam Chomsky refers to as, intellectual self-defense.

The Civil Defense in Gaza disclosed that 54 Palestinians were killed in Israeli strikes since Saturday’s dawn. 2o April 2025

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced in its daily report on April 19 that Israeli occupation forces have killed 51,157 Palestinians and injured 116,724 others since October 7, 2023. In detail, 1,783 have been martyred, and 4,683 others have been injured since March 18, after “Israel” broke the ceasefire agreement and resumed its war on Gaza. https://t.me/almayadeenenglish/10804
