UK fracking gets go-ahead as Lancashire Council overruled

  BY DAVID
download (1)

Sajid Javid has overturned Lancashire council’s rejection of a fracking site, paving the way for shale company Cuadrilla to drill in the county next year and provoking outrage from local groups, environmentalists and politicians.

The council cited visual impact and noise when it turned down the company’s two planning applications to frack on the Fylde last year, but a month later Cuadrilla submitted an appeal.

On Thursday, the communities secretary, Javid, said he had accepted the appeal for one of the sites, at Preston New Road. The move marks a major step up in the scale of exploratory fracking in the UK, as it green lights four wells compared to the single well approved for fracking in North Yorkshire earlier this year.

Defend the ZAD – a call for international solidarity: 8th & 9th October 2016

For over 50 years, farmers and locals have resisted the building of a new airport for the French city of Nantes (which by the way already has one).

ob_519746_10672356-10203109452472357-85659950933

Now in these rich fields, forests and wetlands, which multinational Vinci want to cover in concrete, an experiment in reinventing everyday life in struggle is blossoming. Radicals from around the world, local farmers and villagers, citizen groups, trade unionists and naturalists, refugees and runaways, squatters and climate justice activists and many others, are organising to protect the 4000 acres of land against the airport and its world.

Government officials have coined this place “a territory lost to the republic”. Its occupants have named it: la ZAD (zone a défendre) zone to defend. The ZAD ( Zone to be Defended) in Notre Dame de Landes continues to exist with mass support and block a useless speculation airport. The horizontally organised ZAD ( Zone to be Defended) in Notre Dame de Landes continues to exist after 6 years with mass support and still blocks a useless speculation airport.

In the winter of 2012, thousands of riot police attempted to evict the zone, but they faced a determined and diverse resistance. This culminated in a 40,000 people strong demonstration to rebuild some of what had been destroyed by the French State. Less than a week later, the police was forced to stop what they called “Operation Cesar”. For the last three years, the ZAD has been an extraordinary laboratory of new ways of living, rooted in collaborations between all those who make up the diversity of this movement. There is even a set of 6 points (see below) to radically rethink how to organise and work the land without an airport, based on the creation of commons, the notion of usage rather than property and the demand that those who fought for the land are those who decide its use.

Now, the entire zone is due for expulsions to start the construction of this absurd airport. Prime minister Valls has promised a “Rendez Vous” this October to evict everyone who is living, working, building and farming on the zone.nddl-callout

On October 8th , tens of thousands of people will gather on the ZAD to demonstrate that the determination of the movement is as strong as ever. Honouring farmers struggles from the past, we will come with wooden walking batons and leave them on the zone, as a sign of the commitment to come back and pick them up again if necessary. We will also raise a barn, built by dozens of carpenters during the summer, which will be used as a base, should evictions happen.

We are calling on all international groups and movements to either come to the zone on 8th of October or show their solidarity with the ZAD through actions directed at the French government or multinational Vinci in their own towns and cities on that day. The airport will never be built. Life on the ZAD will keep on flourishing!zadcallout

6 points for the future of the ZAD. Since there will be no airport… Once the project is abandoned, we want:

1. That the inhabitants, owners or tenants who are part of a compulsory purchase or eviction order can remain on the zone and regain their rights.
2. That the impacted farmers resisting and refusing to bend to the will of AGO-Vinci, can continue to freely cultivate the lands that they use and recover their rights and pursue their work in good conditions.
3. That the new inhabitants who came to the zad to take part in the struggle can remain on the zone. That everything which has been built since 2007 as part of the occupation movement in terms of experiments in alternative agriculture, self-built homes or temporary dwellings (huts, yurts, caravans etc.) and forms of life and resistance, can stay and continue.
4. That the lands that each year are redistributed by the chamber of agriculture for AGO-Vinci’s, in the form of precarious leases, are handled by a body that comes out of the resistance movement and brings together all its elements. So that it is the anti-airport movements rather than the normal institutions that decide on the uses of this land.
5. That these lands are for new agricultural or non agricultural projects, be they authorised or not, and not for the expansion of already existing farms.
6. That these agreements becomes a reality through our collective determination and that we carry together an attention to resolve all eventual conflicts linked to them being put in place.

We are already sowing and building a future without an airport in NDDL-625dbour unity and diversity. It is up to all of us, from today, to enable it to flourish and to defend it.

Standing Rock.. Blockade goes on.. Oil+ Gas = Climate Chaos

Supporters of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe rally in opposition of the Dakota Access oil pipeline in front of the White House, Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016, in Washington. The company developing the $3.8 billion Dakota Access pipeline says it is committed to the project, despite strong opposition and a federal order to halt construction near an American Indian reservation in North Dakota. (AP Photo/Jacquelyn Martin)
Protests continue near the Standing Rock camp at the Dakota Access Pipeline construction site in North Dakota despite the Justice Department’s order to stop construction on Army Corps of Engineer land. Twenty-one water protectors were arrested on Wednesday alone as militarized police with armored vehicles and shotguns descended upon peaceful protesters. The protesters were arrested for trespassing and resisting arrest, among other charges, Rob Keller of the Morton County Sheriff’s Department confirmed to Anti-Media.

But local Native Americans are not alone in this fight. Tribes from all over the country have joined together in one of the largest shows of indigenous solidarity in history — and they are joined by climate activists, farmers, and landowners who have had theirland confiscated through the force of eminent domain in order make room for the pipeline. Obama Warned to Defuse Tensions with Russia, Avert Wider War in Syria

Veterans of the intelligence community call on president to defuse growing tensions with Russia over Syria by reining in the demonization of President Putin and asserting White House civilian control over the Pentagon

 ALERT MEMORANDUM FOR: The President

FROM: Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity

SUBJECT: PREVENTING STILL WORSE IN SYRIA

We write to alert you, as we did President George W. Bush, six weeks before the attack on Iraq, that the consequences of limiting your circle of advisers to a small, relatively inexperienced coterie with a dubious record for wisdom can prove disastrous.* Our concern this time regards Syria.

We are hoping that your President’s Daily Brief tomorrow will give appropriate attention to Saturday’s warning by Russia’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova: “If the US launches a direct aggression against Damascus and the Syrian Army, it would cause a terrible, tectonic shift not only in the country, but in the entire region.” Continue reading “Obama warned: Loony Pentagon traitors may trigger World War”

Anonymous To Facebook: “For Every Palestinian Account You Ban, We Will Hack an Israeli Website”*

   shared from  Anonymous

By Zeidy David  Source*

Anonymous has not taken too kindly to Facebook’s recent censoring of Palestinian journalists and activists, trying to get the word out about the brutal Israeli occupation and the police state apparatus that enforces it.

Now, Anonymous Red Cult has made a startling threat against the social media giant, saying that “for every Palestinian account you censor, we will hack an Israeli government website,” according to our sources within the group.

Transcripts:

Greetings citizens of the world…

We are Anonymous RedCult. We will make this video short and straight to the point.

First of all, as most of you that know us, we use nothing but facts supported by proofs in our research and video messages.

Recently, Facebook has formed a clear alliance with the oppressions of the Israeli State, and against the freedom of speech.

Facebook began censoring posts and even banning pages in general by Anonymous and all activists, and specifically by Palestinian activists and journalists.

Meanwhile, they have allowed ISIS to have virtual free-reign over their social media platform, as well as paedophiles and others who use their website for nefarious aims.

We are facing a new Israeli propaganda backed up by Facebook after they had Officially announced Collaboration To censor social media content agreeing to work together with Israel’s government, to censor content Israeli officials deem to be improper,

This arrangement that took place in a meeting between Israeli government ministers and top Facebook officials on September 11th, 2016, paved a new road for the face of Facebook and the statement “YOUíRE TOAST IF WE DON’T LIKE YOUR POST” will push Facebook’s integrity to the edge. Israel actively reviews the content of Palestinian and activists posts and has even arrested some Palestinians for posts on the social media site.

They then forward the requests for censorship to Facebook, who accepts the requests 95% of the times, while Facebook posts inciting violence against Palestinians are surprisingly common and Facebook rarely censors these posts.

see also

The same goes for all anti-Israeli posts. This suspicious collaboration has raised concerns that Facebook has become complicit in silencing portions of its userbase. Facebook has reportedly complied with 95 percent of the Israeli government’s requests to take down content, this behavior is deemed to inspire more cyber attacks.

So the question is: Is FaceBook turning to IsraeliBook?!

In response to Facebooks censorship, Anonymous Red Cult and MajHoul are launching a continued all out cyber war on the Israeli government and their websites.

In the future, any such acts of censorship will sure put Facebook integrity on the line, and will cause Anonymous in general and Anonymous Red Cult in specific to launch more similar cyber attacks on the Israeli government, and such action that may cause hacktivist cyber attacks on Facebook itself,
and it will be just the beginning.

The choice is yours Facebook. If you wish to suppress freedom of speech in order to protect a brutal regime, then you and that regime will be punished for your actions.

And last, all the information were mentioned in this video can be confirmed with a simple google search.

We are Anonymous, We are Anonymous Red Cult. We are legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget. You should have expected us.
