RAQQA – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) General Leadership has told the International Coalition fighting the Islamic State (IS/ISIS/ISIL) that it will halt its operation on Raqqa if Turkey doesn’t cease attacks on Manbij according to claims.
Kurdish forces heading to Raqqa frontline
In a statement via Telegram seen by KQ.com, the SDF, which recently launched the Wrath of Euphrates operation to liberate Raqqa from the IS, said it had told the anti-IS International Coalition it will halt its campaign on Raqqa and move its forces, which number 40,000, to Manbij if it does not stop the Turkish army’s attacks on liberated areas in and around Manbij in northern Syria.

- Turkey and Free Syrian Army groups backed by Ankara have been attacking areas north of Manbij for the past two days.
Six civilians, including children, were killed tonight in Turkish airstrikes.
The SDF has accused Turkey of damaging the fight against IS in Syria.

Save Manbij from Turkish Terror
Manbij is a model for the new Syria proposed by the fast growing Kurdish led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). There is now a power sharing multi ethnic, multi religion Council in the mainly Arab and Christian city. Manbij was liberated from a nightmare ISIS occupation by the Kurdish led SDF after a heroic 73 day house to house battle. It was handed over to the Manbij Civilian Council, which like towns in the Rojava is administered with proportional ethnic and women’s representation.

Great to speak and pay my respects at the memorial of the two British heroes – Eric and Dean. They died fighting the Islamic State. They both came before the world woke to the importance of the SDF alliance and it’s ability to destroy ISIS.
The recent attack by Turkey and their jihadist allies made the day more poignant. Dean died in Manbij alongside a Kurd. Watching the US sanction the Turkish assault betrays both their sacrifices. These men are an inspiration to everyone. They made the ultimate sacrifice for liberty, justice and the innocent people of Rojava.
Rest in peace comrades
With 5000 tanks, 300,000 troops and a modern Nato army the Turkish dictator Erdogan can certainly take Manbij, reducing it even more to rubble, and securing his ‘Arms and supplies for Oil’ business with his latest jihadi proxies. but then what? An endless guerilla war on his 900 km long southern border with Rojava?
Manbij, like all towns in the Rojava revolution, is run democratically and with sex equality by a Council composed proportionally of all the local forces (not by the SDF/YPG).
This is what Turkish tanks and jets are aiming to destroy and replace with the medieval mockery of Islam of their ISIS and allied militias. The SDF/YPG have no air force and risk being betrayed by their US allies so they can not continue the offensive against ISIS in Al Bab or Raqqa..
Last time Erdogan attacked in Syria the Russians put him severely in his place. Will the US have the guts to stand up to his threats to leave NATO and support Russia? Or will they stand back, do a dirty deal and let him wipe out the only effective anti ISIS militias of the SDF?
