Crimes Against Humanity in

The Western media are suppressing news of their Turkish ally committing  ethnic and religious genocide against the peaceful people of Afrin. Even the BBC declared (19 Feb) that it had no details of deaths and injuries despite meticulous documentation by the SDF..see here:   Turkish genocide in Afrin: Diary of Turkish Invasion..Detailed SDF Report (8 to 15 February.’18”For over a month Nato equipped Turkey has been invading and continuously bombing and shelling the small rural canton of Afrin (Efrin) in NW Syria. Afrin is part of Rojava where a unique secular, feminist and non-sectarian revolution is going on based on direct democracy and ecological renewal.Turkey must be stopped, we cannot let a fascist dictator continue boosting his power by fanning insane nationalist and genocidal militarism, much less that he continue to be subsidised by the EU and NATO”.

Turkey: Anarchist Prisoner Şevket Aslan on Hunger Strike for Over 80 Days

     by

SevketAslan

10.02.18: The anarchist prisoner Şevket Aslan who is being held in İzmir T Type Prison in Aliağa Şakran, is on the 81st day of what he describes as an ‘endless and irreversible’ hunger strike until his demands are met. Şevket went on a hunger strike with the same demands on July 19th and ended it on the 53rd day.

Since these demands were not met he has begun a new hunger strike. Şevket’s main demand is to be recognized by prison authorities as an anarchist prisoner and to be transferred to another unit or prison that houses anarchist prisoners. If this is not possible he wants to be moved to a single cell.

Şevket is currently housed with another prisoner in what prisoners describe as a ‘coffin’ – a cell designed for one prisoner that contains a bunk bed. There is barely any room for them to move inside the cell.

SEVKET ASLAN’S FULL LIST OF DEMANDS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

1– To be recognized as an anarchist prisoner by the prison authorities and transferred to a unit or another prison where other anarchist prisoners are housed, failing this, to be transferred to a single cell

2- To be able to receive books that are not banned

3– That the prison stops “losing” his written complaints, appeals and requests that he sends to official institutions and that he is given the exit numbers (tracking numbers) for them

4– Termination of shoe removal rule except for open visits and health reasons

5– An end to prisoners having to stand for excessively long periods of time while waiting to see prison administration

6- That the prison allows him to paint and allows him to receive oil painting materials and have access to the painting workshop

The developments of the last week in Afrin  ….  Sat.  Feb. 17, 2018

With the defeat of the IS in Syria and especially after the liberation of Raqqa in October 2017, the Turkish state intensified its threats and attacks against the Democratic Federation of the North of Syria In this context began the Turkish invasion and war against Afrin on January 20, 2018 violating international law and the sovereignty of its neighboring country.

The Turkish army has launched this war in cooperation with jihadist groups from the ranks of the FSA. Many of them are ex members of Al-Qaeda or EI.

(TURKEY HAS  354  LEOPARD TANKS MADE IN GERMANY AND   1690 US MADE TANKS…OVER 2000 IN TOTAL, PLUS A HUGE RANGE OF MODERN NATO EQUIPMENT AND AIR FORCE. IT HAS OVER 500,000 ACTIVE SOLDIERS AND 355,000 RESERVES. Afrin on the other hand has hardly any tanks, volunteer soldiers and no air force THE ENTIRE POPULATION OF AFRIN IS ONLY 200,000 [5]  PLUS ANOTHER 200,000 REFUGEES TAKEN IN FROM THE SYRIAN CIVIL WAR      source Wikipedia)

[1] War and Humanitarian Situation

Since the beginning of the war, those who have suffered the most are Afrin’s civilian population: Kurds, Arabs, Turkmen, Armenians, Ezidis, Alawites, Christians and Muslims. According to hospital staff in Avrin, more than 160 civilians have been killed between January 20, 2018 and February 12, 2018 due to  attacks by the Turkish army and  its associated Jihadist groups of the FSA against the people of Afrin,

Also  480 were injured, including children, women and the elderly.

[2. 3. 4]  From 5 to 7 February, the Turkish air forces did not carry out air strikes, although it intensified shelling by artillery. Many schools, centers of democratic self-management such as the Education, Trade and Agriculture Councils, as well as the Heyva Health Center Sister, mosques, cemeteries and hundreds of civil houses have become targets of artillery. Guns To Phase Out Americans By 2050

February 16, 2018 – SATIRE, BREAKING NEWS, WORLD NEWS

A DISTURBING REPORT issued by the International Centre For Research (ICFR) has estimated that guns are on course to phase out Americans by 2050, WWN has learned.

With the number of people suffering horrific and violent gun deaths in America exceeding 33,000 per year, it is believed when this harrowing statistic is combined with an unwavering commitment from politicians to do nothing, the result will be the total eradication of all 320 million Americans by 2050.

“If current trends continue, the last two standing will go down in a blaze of depressing glory sometime late 2050,” explained head of the report Duncan Morrow.

The ICFR report makes for truly upsetting reading, and begs for immediate action to be taken in relation to a number of competing problems which can all be identified as contributing to America’s gun deaths problem. However, leading Republican politicians who have received the report could only confirm how quickly it burned when placed on an open fire.

“I’m here to reassure you, you may be scared after what happened recently, but America will always be a place that is safe for you,” President Donald Trump said in a press conference in which he talked directly to an assortment of worried firearms, in a bid to reassure all guns that no harm would come them in these troubling times.

Those desperately crying out for action in the wake of tragic death after tragic death after tragic death after tragic death have been incorrectly told it is normal that someone can legally buy an AR-15 rifle before they can purchase beer, and not to worry as other non-gun things kill more Americans every year and something should be done about that instead.

Others suffering insurmountable grief and pain after learning of yet more carnage facilitated by politicians paid by the NRA not to change laws have been told to reconvene in the usual places in public and online to voice their anger next time something like this happens again.

Asma Jahangir: saying Farewell to a Pakistani Feminist .. Who will Defend Us Now?

Pakistani civil society activists light candles to pay tribute to late human rights activist Asma Jahangir in Karachi on February 12, 2018.

by The funeral of Pakistan’s celebrated human rights defender Asma Jahangir was a poignant display of women’s resistance, writes Mehmood [Rabia Mehmood]

People don’t usually break societal barriers and disrupt the patriarchal order at funerals anywhere in the world, let alone in Pakistan. But on February 13, many women in Lahore, including myself, did just that by actively participating in a janaza, a Muslim funeral ritual, for the first time.

On that day, contrary to orthodox funeral traditions observed in Pakistan, we not only stood alongside men, we actually stood in front of them. Also, there were hardly any frowns directed at women who chose not to cover their heads. Continue reading “Asma Jahangir: saying Farewell to a Pakistani Feminist .. Who will Defend Us Now?”
