We have no illusions: The old world will continue with its destructive habitus – Soon they will come! [Osterholz Bleibt, Wuppertal, Germany]

Wuppertal. Germany. A statement by “The ghosts they called” on the struggle for the Osterholz Forest.

Well… the cops didn’t come today (Monday, January 17). Any day without cops is a good day, of course, but we should have no illusions. The cops declared again today that they are preparing to evict and uproot the Osterholz forest.

On Sunday evening, a local resident caused maximum confusion among the district government, city politicians and the cops with a last-minute complaint at the Administrative Court. The application was rejected by the court on Monday afternoon. But it shows that the struggle for the Osterholz forest and its free spaces is being waged at all levels. But as we wrote above: It was another day without cops. All the trees and the occupation are still standing.

We expect eviction at any time. Anytime the company of the arrogantly smiling Till Iseke (tonight on WDR television) can start with the violent destruction of the habitat of many animals, plants and trees. Maybe they will come tomorrow morning. Maybe the day after tomorrow. We do not know. Be ready. If you can, come to the forest now. Let’s defend the forest together and make a possible eviction and uprooting to a disaster.
