Brazil’s Bolsonaro says bill to open indigenous reserves to mining, agriculture ready

Bolsonaro has vowed to assimilate the country’s 800,000 indigenous people — less than 1% of the total population — into Brazilian society.

“The Brazilian president has called on native communities to be included in society, alluding that they have been unfairly forced to live apart in misery.” That is, stop being yourself; some lazy, lousy and miserable savages, and become citizens of the society of capitalism.

Bolsonaro says it, but this racist, ethnocentric, simplifying and energetically false vision of this type of societies has many people disagreeing and the bill will hopefully have big problems in Congress in February.

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro said on Thursday that a controversial bill allowing mining, agriculture and cattle farms on protected indigenous reserves was ready to be sent to Congress for consideration.

Bolsonaro again claimed indigenous culture, which has cared for the Amazon for millenia, is mere superstition and that they are kept in poverty and forced to be separate and invited them to integrate, ranch cattle and mine the disappearing forest.

This follows his UN intervention in the same vein, which drew the following reaction.. “Bolsonaro’s speech is outrageous, undemocratic, racist, and deeply violent against the indigenous peoples of Brazil and the great indigenous leader Raoni, internationally recognized for his contribution to the preservation of the Amazon.

Athens, Greece: It’s ironic. The greek government has been terrorizing the neighborhood of Exarcheia since the summer with squat evictions, attacks on people inside coffee shops and bars and brutal beatings and arrests for no reason -especially following the protests on 17 November and 6 December, where an atypical martial was imposed in the area.

A few days ago they made an attempt to cover up the riot police crimes against the people in the area, by decorating Square with Christmas lights and a Christmas Tree!

To get an idea of what is happening in Athens at the moment a few things have to be noted: The greek government has gone to war with anarchists and anti authoritarians, following the end of a 15 days ultimatum issued by the Ministry of “Public Order”, against the dozens of political and refugee squats across Greece (some of them more than 30 years old), threatening them with violent evictions by the riot police and police special forces, if they did not evacuate within the deadline.

The deadline ended on Thursday night on the 5th of December 2019, a political decision by the Greek State aiming to agitate and create an “explosive atmosphere”.

Following the first wave of attacks and evictions, mainly against squats housing refugees during the fall, the second wave of attacks has just begun, this time against political squats and social centers.

Formations House created thousands of companies for ultra-wealthy business-people for offshore banking and international transactions.

The transparency collective ‘Distributed Denial of Secrets‘ obtained these documents from a source dubbed “Babylon” and is publishing them online. More than 100,000 recorded phone calls between Formations House, its customers, and related figures, are included. Full archives of the phone calls are expected to be released in coming days.

Assange lawyer discloses conditions for British justice TO RETHINK his extradition

A Spanish judge will question Julian Assange on a Spain-based security firm thought to have spied on him in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London. His lawyer hopes it may help thwart the WikiLeaks founder’s extradition to the US.

Set for next week, the questioning is part of a criminal inquiry the Spanish High Court is carrying out into UC Global, a private security company suspected of gathering surveillance on Assange and passing it further to US intelligence services.

“December 20 is an important day,” Aitor Martinez, a lawyer in charge of defending Assange in Spain, told Russia’s RIA Novosti news agency. The Spanish judge will go to Westminster Magistrates Court “to receive a video conference testimony from Mr Assange as a victim of the alleged spy plot,” he revealed.

The firm’s name surfaced this summer when El Pais newspaper reported that it was eavesdropping on Assange during his exile at the Ecuadorian diplomatic mission in London. Citing recordings it has had access to, the paper alleged that the firm – tasked to guard the embassy – specifically focused on Assange’s legal matters discussions.
