Bring a Walking Stick: New festival to Defend Free Area in France: Oct 8th

defendzad8oct2016Notre-Dame-des-Landes (France): Defend the ZAD – a Call for International Solidarity

For over 50 years, farmers and locals have resisted the building of a new airport for the French city of Nantes (which by the way already has one). Now in these rich fields, forests and wetlands, which multinational Vinci want to cover in concrete, an experiment in reinventing everyday life in struggle is blossoming.images

Radicals from around the world, local farmers and villagers, citizen groups, trade unionists and naturalists, refugees and runaways, squatters and climate justice activists and many others, are organising to protect the 4000 acres of land against the airport and its world.

Government officials have coined this place “a territory lost to the republic”. Its occupants have named it: la ZAD  (Zone À Défendre), zone to defend. Continue reading “Bring a Walking Stick: New festival to Defend Free Area in France: Oct 8th”

Llamado a la Solidaridad Anarquista Internacional con la Huelga de Presos desde Sept 9 en EEUU

ultima hora: lista extensiva de acciones del IWW aquí: SPREADING THE STRIKE: SOLIDARITY ACTIONS ACROSS NORTH AMERICA FOR SEPTEMBER 9TH

Support prison Strike from 9th Sept 2016

. Turkey pauses Invasion and Massacres as Syrian Democratic Forces defend Manbij

SDF resists TurkeyWill the US have the guts to stand up against the Turkish invasion ? Or will they stand back, do a dirty deal and let Erdogan, the supreme commander, massacre the SDF, an 80,000 strong secular democratic coalition of  Kurdish, Arab, Turkmen, Women, Christian, International,Yazidi, etc. anti-ISIS militias?

The occupant Turkish army continues attacking villages to the north of the Sajur River in northern Manbij. Turkish military forces and affiliated gang groups targeted dozens of villages in this area with artillery fire on Monday evening. Three children and two other civilians lost their lives as a result of the artillery attacks targeting the village of Dandania. The same village was targeted by a chemical attack of the Turkish army on August 25th. Villagers said smoke and foul smells were rising from the rockets thrown on the village which caused burns and itching on the skin.
The occupying Turkish army continues attacking villages to the north of the Sajur River in northern Manbij. Turkish military forces and affiliated militias targeted dozens of villages in this area with artillery fire killing 35 civilians, torturing 3 SDF prisoners and again on Monday evening.3 children and two other civilians lost their lives as a result of the artillery attacks targeting the village of Dandania.

President Erdogan, the ”Beast of Istanbul”,  has ordered his jets and tanks to pause at the Sajur river before pursuing the SDF forces to take Manbij city.

Will the Turkish State (which has nearly 5,000 tanks) now massacre the lightly armed SDF, which is the only democratic, inclusive, feminist and multi ethnic militia in the whole Middle East just to satisfy the bloodlust and imperial ambitions of Hitler-admirer Erdogan and protect his family’s oil business with ISIS? Call for World Anarchist Solidarity with US Prison Strike

late news .. huge list of actions from IWW.. HERE> SPREADING THE STRIKE: SOLIDARITY ACTIONS ACROSS NORTH AMERICA FOR SEPTEMBER 9TH

This spring, the IWW and allied community groups organized prison labor strikes of thousands of incarcerated workers in Alabama, Wisconsin, Texas, Mississippi, and Ohio—all demanding the right to form a union. The IWW Incarcerated Workers Organizing Committee has called for a nationwide prison strike from September 9 to mark the 45th anniversary of the Attica prison uprising and claims it has the support of thousands of prisoners throughout the United States.

On September 9th, prisoners across the United States will begin a strike that will be a general work stoppage against prison slavery. In short, prisoners will refuse to work; they will refuse to keep the prisons running by their own labors.

Prisoners are striking not just for better conditions or changes in parole rules, but against prison slavery. Prisoners state that under the 13th Amendment which abolished racial slavery, at the same time it allowed human beings to be worked for free or next to nothing as long as they were prisoners.sept 9 2016 prisoners strike

Greece: Anarchist Refugee Collectives Displace state Detention Centres

CYcBghwWAAEdOr6

While the world’s media is suitably distracted by the Olympic Games in Brazil, the war in Syria and beyond continues to see thousands of people – men, women and children – killed each week and many more attempting the perilous journey as refugees to seek safety.

from  nfo  with thanls

Meanwhile in the last two months there has been a deafening silence in the media about the plight of the thousands of refugees still stuck in Greece. Only 2500 refugees have so far been granted asylum status – the process is excruciatingly slow and most of those granted this status have yet to be relocated.

A report by the Greek Centre for Disease Control recommended all 16 of the refugee detention centres it inspected be closed due to unsanitary conditions and poor water supply. But while the Greek authorities seem unable to move forward, grassroots activists – anarchists – have yet again taken matters into their own hands and are providing shelter and food to those in need. However, this is not charity, or the result of a philanthropic endeavour, but direct democracy in practice.cbglyagumaas_qq

Anarchists in Greece have been providing squatted accommodation – abandoned schools, hotels etc – for refugees – since the current conflicts in Syria began. And as soon as the Greek authorities organised evictions of these premises, more buildings have been squatted. Continue reading “Greece: Anarchist Refugee Collectives Displace state Detention Centres”
