‘SIDE BY SIDE, Facing Repression Together’ – New Campaign Launched

SIDE BY SIDE://colzeacolzeblog.wordpress.com

SIDE BY SIDE we confront Repression

Various anarchist groups have together launched the SIDE BY SIDE campaign . Let’s jointly face the repression and show solidarity with the people indicted more than two years ago in the so-called Operation Piñata, and other similar operations that, with the excuse of anti-terrorism, have attacked the anarchist movement.

SIDE BY SIDE, facing together the repression that seeks to dissuade us, immobilize us, discourage us. Together, not isolated. With the strength that we try to understand our differences and learn to find ourselves in complicities.
SIDE BY SIDE, that’s what we call this campaign, this cry of resistance, this new challenge to power. Another attempt to break the silence, to make visible the social conflict increasingly evident as a result of the sharpening of the structural crisis of the capitalist system.

May Day 2017: We Strike Back Against Capitalists

CALLOUT: MAY DAY 2017 – WE ARE POOR BECAUSE THEY ARE RICH… AND IT’S RIGHT TO REVOLT!

BY   May 1st is a day of solidarity with other exploited people across the world and within our communities. This is a call to reclaim and rebuild the history and struggle against oppression with an anti-capitalist gathering, celebration and resistance.Image result for mayday class war

This year we will commemorate those who fought with their lives for an 8 hour workday in Chicago over 100 years ago, and the innocent anarchists who lost their lives at the hand of the law.

On May 1st 2017 we will stand against capitalism, colonialism, borders and the state; we will stand for freedom, community and self-determination as we continue the struggles of workers started so many years ago.

Capitalism continues to steal land, life, culture and language from in the name of profit. The empire it has built on stolen land keeps workers under the boot of the bosses, the unemployed under the boot of the state, as our labour increases their profit margins and we merely survive and dream of the lives we can live in our worn-out bodies come retirement.Image result for mayday general strike migrants

On May 1st, 2017 we will gather as anti-capitalists against the systems of oppression that commodify our basic needs and force us to work for our daily bread. The food from the fields and trees and the houses on the streets have all been packaged into marketable products and fenced off from all who cannot pay the price. Update on the trial against accused anarchist bank robbers – Aachen (Germany)

from insurrection news  with thanks    This is a call to solidarity with the anarchists accused of robbery in Aachen. It is a call to maintain the links between the rebels and the oppressed wherever possible throughout the world.

In 2015, a comrade from Amsterdam was arrested. She was accused of having participated in a robbery in 2013 against the Aachener bank in Aachen. After a few months spent in preventive and several weeks of trial, she was finally acquitted and released. Nevertheless, it can be assumed that the Aachen Prosecutor’s Office will appeal this verdict and go to the revision court.

In April and June 2016, two other comrades, this time from Barcelona, were arrested and incarcerated by the Spanish state, accused by the same prosecution office of having participated in another bank robbery.

The two were then extradited to Germany in June 2016, where they have since been under the U-Haft regime (investigative preventive prison). The trial against them began in January 2017 in the Aachen Justice complex and it is scheduled to run until May 22, 2017. Kemal Bolivya, a Bolivian volunteer with the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), on Friday called on all ‘revolutionaries’ to join the Rojava revolution.

“I joined the YPG, to struggle and to build this revolution. I think all the revolutionaries of the world should learn about the Rojava revolution,” he said.

“But first we need to defend this revolution and because of that we are in Tabqa. And later we will go to Raqq and we hope this struggle will end well. Because of that I have come to Rojava,” he said.

The YPG is a leading faction within the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), that are in battle with ISIS in northern Syria. Continue reading “Bolivian fighter joins anti-ISIS Raqqa operation, calls on volunteers to join ‘Rojava revolution’”

‘Week of Solidarity Against Repression’ Across the World

By  It’s Going Down      The idea for the Week of Solidarity Against Repression started as networks of friends began talking, thinking, and writing about the build up of repressive forces following the inauguration of Trump. This reality manifested itself in the felony charges leveled at over 200 people arrested in the mass kettle in Washington DC on January 20th, over 800 water protectors targeted by grand juries, and over 100 antifascists in Sacramento who await the ruling of the local DA.

During the week, we saw a wide variety of actions, from people vandalizing one of Trump’s golf courses, wheat pastes and banner drops in small towns, to large fundraising events throughout the country, a mass educational event in DC, rallies organized by the General Defense Committee (GDC) in Minneapolis and Seattle, and much more. We also saw inspiring solidarity from across the world: in Greece, at the ZAD in France, and in Germany. Continue reading “‘Week of Solidarity Against Repression’ Across the World”

Read: Denying reality: a dangerous delusion.. from Paul Cudenec’s ‘Nature, Essence and Anarchy’.

How making language taboo can kill a movement

Denying reality: a dangerous delusion

Paul Cudenec  (This is the second essay in my latest book, Nature, Essence and Anarchy, published by Winter Oak Press)You can tell a lot about the metaphysical health of a society from the philosophical questions it asks itself.

In the case of our own culture, one of the best-known such questions is: “If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?” The answer is quite obviously “yes” and the question is ridiculous on more than one level. For one thing, it is blindly anthropocentric, assuming that the presence of a human being somehow makes a unique difference to the reality of sound.

But even if the “no one” in the question includes the whole range of non-human living creatures that might have heard the hypothetical tree, the whole thing is still inherently absurd. The tree cannot fall silently. It will make a noise as it hits the ground, regardless of whether or not this is witnessed.

This so-called “philosophical puzzle” reflects a deep underlying problem with contemporary thinking, in that it potentially denies the existence of objective reality, suggesting that the crashing sound made by the tree may only become real if it is subjectively experienced by some “one”.
