Picture a day like this: You wake up and head to your job at a small company you own and manage together with your fellow workers, doing high-tech, advanced manufacturing that’s too specialized for bigger factories.
The supposed carcass of the Loch Ness Monster has been found on the shores of the infamous Scottish loch, according to some recent reports. Found in this case refers of course to the recent appearance of a rather interesting new hoax — the photos are quite fetching aren’t they?
While animals that fit the description of the famous Loch Ness Monster most certainly have existed at various points in time, in various parts of the world — and while I’m not of the mind that all “sightings” are hoaxes per se — the chances of finding a physical animal living in Loch Ness that fits the description are pretty much nil.
There are plenty of real life ‘monsters’, many of them being driven to extinction by human predation
So, what are we left with? A hoax of some sort — though the motives behind hoaxes often vary quite a bit. In this case, I’d say that those behind it have had quite a bit of fun. I wonder what the exact motive was? Continue reading “Mega-Corpse Of Loch Ness Monster ‘Found’ In Scotland”
Fracking is twice as bad for climate as coal – will the Climate Change Committee ban it?
by Dr Robin Russell-Jones from the ecologist with thanks
The UK government is all for fracking, writes Dr Robin Russell-Jones, but on climate grounds alone it should be banned. Evidence from the US shows that shale gas is twice as dirty as coal from a climate viewpoint due to ‘fugitive emissions’ of methane. That makes fracking incompatible with the UK’s climate change commitments and the Paris Agreement – as the CCC may soon rule.
We have been unofficially informed that the CCC has accepted our data on fugitive emissions of methane – and that shale gas is twice as bad as coal from a climate change perspective. In other words fracking is likely to be banned.
Fracking has aroused huge controversy in the UK, mainly in England, as there are moratoriums on fracking in Scotland and Wales.
Economist Michael Hudson says neoliberal policy will pressure U.S. citizens to emigrate, just as it caused millions to leave Russia, the Baltic States, and now Greece in search of a better life

A research team from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health in New York estimates 875,000 deaths in the United States in year 2000 could be attributed to social factors related to poverty and income inequality.According to U.S. government statistics, 2.45 million Americans died in the same year. When compared to the Columbia research team’s finding, social deprivation could account for some 36% of the total deaths in 2000.
“Almost all of the British economists of the late 18th century said when you have poverty, when you have a transfer of wealth to the rich, you’re going to have shorter lifespans, and you’re also going to have emigration,” says Michael Hudson, Distinguished Research Professor of Economics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

from revolution-news with thanks. The defense team and supporters of those arrested have stated unwaveringly since the case began that these arrests were an attempt to criminalize the 15M movement and that the alleged “virtual dome of Anonymous” in Spain are being used as scapegoats to destroy the social movement’s public image.
