International Action Day against Femicide of Yazidi Women
3 August 2017 marks the 3rd anniversary of the Femicide and Genocide by Islamic State (IS) against Yazidi people in Sinjar/Shengal. 4
On 3 August 2014 IS attacked and captured Sinjar, which is the historical homeland of Yazidis, a Kurdish religious minority whose ancient religion is linked to Zoroastrianism. IS destroyed Yazidi shrines, executed resisters and demanded the residents to swear allegiance or be killed. The Sinjar Women’s Units was formed in 2015 to protect the Yazidi community in the wake of attacks by Isis
During the IS-massacre in Sinjar up to 5.000 Yazidis were executed. Almost 200.000 people managed to flee. 50.000 Yazidis fled into the Sinjar Mountains, where they were trapped without food, water or medical care, facing starvation and dehydration. A look at how the Barcelona rent strike of 1931 prepared the ground for the revolution of 1936.

It, along with other struggles in those years, created an organised working class that in 1936 made the most successful attempt yet to overthrow capitalism and create libertarian communism.

The CNT was an illegal organisation during the 1920’s and thus many members had been reduced to the role of passive spectators as dedicated militants battled with the police and pistoleros. The dictator, Primo de Rivera, had fallen in 1930 and the new government (who declared a republic in ’31) let the CNT re-emerge.
As anarchists, the CNT wished to widen the union into a real participatory social movement. To do this they had to broaden its realm of influence. They knew that only via mass organisation, participation and struggle could the foundations be laid so that people would acquire the skills to construct a new society. Two activists have come forward and admitted to some of the multiple acts of eco-sabotage against the Dakota Access Pipeline in Spring 2017.
Several of these incidents had been previously hidden from the public. Much of the sabotage took place with minimal equipment and training, and during broad daylight.
The women have come forward in the hope that others will support and be inspired by their actions.
They have currently been arrested on a lesser charge, and the FBI is investigating. Deep Green Resistance is reaching out via our Political Prisoner / Prisoner of War Support Group and aims to provide whatever assistance possible.

Hamburg – A letter from anarchist prisoner Riccardo, arrested during the G20 (20/07/2017)
by actforfreedom | We are spreading news of the arrest of a comrade from Genoa, Riccardo, on Friday 7th July in Hamburg during the revolt against the G20. Riccardo has seen his lawyers, is doing well and his spirits are high. On18/07 a hearing confirmed that Riccardo and all those arrested be remanded in custody. In 15 days an appeal trial will be held to decide if imprisonment is to be continued until the trial. The charges haven’t been formulated yet.
We reconfirm our solidarity with all those arrested in Hamburg. Freedom for all!
Letter from the comrade Riccardo from the prison of Billwerder, Hamburg
At the moment I am being detained in the prison of Billwerder in Hamburg. I was arrested on Friday 7th July at 7:30pm near Rote Flora.
I am accused of insulting the State, endangering public security, of having played an active part in a group of fifteen people who challenged the police, in particular attempting to harm a policeman of the Special Unit of Bloomberg intent on carrying out arrests and finding evidence.
I don’t recognize the dichotomy ‘guilty-not guilty’ proposed by the State’s judicial apparatus.
What I want to say is that I’m proud and happy to have been there in Hamburg during the uprising against the G20. The joy of experiencing in person the determination of people of all ages from all over the world who haven’t yet given in to the temptation to submit to the logic of money and the capitalist world; this can never be quelled by any form of imprisonment. After 18 years of subversion, infiltration, coercion, bribery and a constant blitz of fake news the US is pushing Venezuela into a horrific civil war in order to take control of its oil.

Every day we can see images of the police and state thugs beating up innocent students and read Fox News reports like.. “”there is no toilet paper or meat there, the currency is worthless, the murder rate is perhaps the highest in the world, the Supreme Court has tried to abolish the entire legislature for daring to oppose a dictator who’s running the place into the ground, and you can go on and on and on, it is a disaster there in Venezuela.”
Of course the socialist government is corrupt and repressive, but it still controls its own oil and distributes a huge share to give food jobs, housing and education and health to all.
By now, with the cuts due to the oil price collapse, the entire middle class seem in the media to be protesting daily against the government, but they are still the minority and like us they are taken in by constant fake news .
”The rich want lower taxes, and ending social programs for the have-nots, and they want the privatization of vital government enterprises so that they can loot the country, as is happening right now in Brazil. And most of all, they want the privatization of the oil in their hands. The have-nots, workers, unemployed, women, indigenous, blacks … still support the government. They want the government to keep control of the oil for the benefit of the people, the have-nots. In the aftermath of the fiery protests against the G20—and the arrests of hundreds of comrades—we are again reminded that the embers of direct action need long-term prisoner support in order to keep the flame of resistance strong. Some forty G20 protestersremain in prison in Hamburg and need our solidarity.
Since the beginning of 2017, scores of antifascists and other revolutionaries have been arrested, and the numbers keep growing. In the Belarus and the United States alone, several hundred antifascists and anarchists have been arrested for taking part in anti-government and antifascist demonstrations. Just this month, in Belarus, Vadim Boyko, was arrested and transferred to a penal colony for a 2014 fight against right-wing hooligans, while in the US, over twenty people were arrested in Charlottesville, Virginia for defending the city against the KKK, and three people were arrested for participating in the violent demonstrations against fascists in Sacramento last year. One person, Mike Williams, a Native American organizer with the Brown Berets, is currently being held in jail on $500,000 bail. by TOM COBURG Please share this article: Andy Coles, a former undercover police officer – or ‘spycop’ – who spied on political activists, was exposed earlier this year after it was reported he formed a relationship with a teenage girl as part of his operations cover. He subsequently resigned his position as Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner but, despite protests, continues as a local Tory councillor. Now evidence has emerged that only two years ago Coles endorsed a campaign to protect teenagers from sexual predators.
Coles retired from the police in 2012. But in July 2016 he was appointed deputy Police and Crime Commissioner for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. He was given special responsibility for domestic abuse, as shown in the 19 July 2016 minutes [pdf section 2.3] of a meeting of the Cambridge Community Safety Partnership.
